reading a lot of people regretting their decision on buying a 200ns.
is change of tyres really necessary if yes then which one should i go for?
please shed some light on VIBRATIONS , rpm fluctuations, cold starts, plastics, built quality, etc etc etc

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!
how important it is to feel strong,
    rather than just being strong.

I think Yes....Bcz P220 Maybe discontinued soon after release of Pulsar 350..Also i will not recommend you to buy a older version after they upgraded.. About the problems ( I dont know tat much bcz am not a owner, but i have driven it many times and know something about it ) Rear Tyre is Not as good as you would expect..If you want pure cornering fun,you need to change it and definitely a little hard braking makes the rear Tyre to skid... Build quality is Gud for a < 1L bike....Dnt expect too much and no cold start problems... About vibrations,Its there..It can be minimized by using that rubber thing and by changing to Motul or any other Good oil after 2nd service.... What i found out after Riding two different NS, almost 75% of NS comes with poor AFR setting (Dnt know why bajaj is not taking care of that) Also service ppl tend to fiddle with it if you tell them you get poor mileage.. So this is the cause of RPM fluctuation and also vibration in many cases. So if you are lucky enough to get a bike with perfect AFR setting your good or else You should adjust it to perfect setting....

My observations after driving it for sometime...Owners can help you more.... Overall a very Gud bike for < 1L

      Good luck

Depends solely on the way you'll use the bike. If you're into touring, it's 220 for you. But mind this, 200NS makes a darn good tourer too. Only problem, you'll face wind blasts and crosswind resistance due to lack of fairing. On the other hand, if you are on a budget and mostly ride in the city, look no further than NS.

NS is a pretty sensitive bike as far as I've observed. Mistakes made during run-in might take their toll. It can't take abuse like the R15's proven engine. Doesn't mean you can't rip it away either. Just give it some time and kms, understand the machine well and you'll love it. Sure it's got bad low end torque, some irritating tappet noises once in a while, the not-so-good fuel indicator etc etc. But I don't see how they become deal breakers in any way. Regarding the vibrations, they smoothen out after you clock some miles on the odo and becomes very smooth after the 2nd service (as I observed in mine, and quoting many of my friends' experiences).

Tyre change isn't too essential unless you're into spirited riding/cornering. For daily commute and normal riding, the eurogrips are adequate.

Run your own set of maintenance steps like letting the engine idle for a minute during cold starts, regular chain cleaning and lubing, usage of the best oils (of course motul), etc. Keep it in stock condition if you'd seriously take my advice. The people who are cribbing about buying NS, you people are probably facing those kind of problems which can easily be solved at service centres with *skilled* servicemen or you've ruined it yourselves. There are pretty slim chances of defective pieces getting sold AFAIK. No offence to anybody.

Like I mentioned a few posts earlier, NS is perfect as a first bike or if you're upgrading from a tiny displacement bike and are on a budget. I personally, would rate 4 stars out of 5 for the NS.
        Hope this helps. Cheers!
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

          • got my 2nd free service done today at Auto Service, Banashankari. The only SVC in Bangalore that recommends to never use BAJAJ oil(as far as i know).
            Problems before service:
            1. Gear shifts were not smooth.
            2. Vibrations on foot pegs.
            3. Rear brake wasn't powerful enough.

            After service:
            1. Thanks to Motul 7100, gear shifts have become very smooth.
            2. Bike has only run 20kms after service, so very difficult to comment on vibes. Actually vibes used to come after riding the bike for too long in traffic.
            3. Didn't feel any difference. Seems same to me.

            Overall totally happy with bike
I would seriously recommend all Bangalore owners to try out Auto Service.

On mention of Vibes, the mechanic over there said that Vibration Tapes are yet to arrive. I was wondering what the hell are those then i asked him whether he his talking about some rubber fittings. He said yes yes those things only According to him, those will be available within 1-2 months.

As Aditya has mentioned...it depends on the purpose. Tyres do a good job but give away under slight hard breaking...Iv accustomed myself to use the front brakes more.
Honestly my bike duznt have any discomforting vibes...and the afr is as per stock setting. the plastics are fine and sturdy.
P220 will be a relatively comfortable ride....P200NS will be on the lesser comfortable side. But still...its one hell of a ride.

Pirelli Sport Demon and MRF Revz will do a great job

I can vouch for that the 200NS will not be discontinued after the 3XX launch. Its here to stay.

Bro whatever bike you buy,you need to take care of it. It doesn't mean baby sitting but atleast the regular maintenance and service.. It's a machine, it needs some care and maintenance.. Tyres you can go for R15's soft compound tyres, which will stick like glue to the Tarmac but more prone to punctures. But again change it only if need pure cornering fun else euro grip will do

If your so much worried, why don't you go for duke 200 instead??? If you can spend 50k extra go for it

By uncomfortable I din't mean just the saddle...I meant that since its a naked bike, you'll face wind blast.
The suspensions of P220 are a tad softer than NS so going over potholes is slightly more comfortable in 220.
The NS' saddle (the seat) is slightly harder as complained by some owners. I find it fine...may be because I have never ridden it for more than 2 hours straight.
But again...some of the owners have done a saddlesore on the it too.

Proper Run in and service at regular intervals will do the job.. Go for it. But remember if you mess up with run in, you are doomed.. You'll regret for that later as many NS owners here do now.. It's a machine that will ask you to flip open the throttle, but stay calm till 1000 km after that it's all yours..... Good luck

I touched about 127kmph with about 160kms on my odo. And have touched speeds above 100kms many times during my running in. No harm done. The thing is the ripping shouldn't continue for a long time...only short bursts will do and try engine braking.
If you baby around your bike...then expect it to harm your bike the same way as the harm caused by excessive ripping. The engine needs to free up.
And believe me...nothing wrong will happen. Its an engine dammit...not a paper ball which will crush!
