You can very well go for Motul 3100 20w50 (its semi synthetic).

There are owners who are using 7100 from around ~5k kms ( @rahulbarik is using it) and they have found their engines to be a lot smoother without any hiccups. So you too can go for this. But generally it is advised that FS should be used around 10k kms...but again, people have been using it much earlier than advised and happy with it.

    • Is there any mineral oil by motul which we can use for our NS? and its cost....i always thought motul 3100 is mineral...if motul has no mineral which is the cheapest and good oil to use for a very little usage?
i dont want to spend more on SS or FS since my monthly run is hardly 200-250kms (will change it myself after my 2nd service and get bajaj oil for 3rd service so doesnt make sense to spend a fortune for 4 months)

also heard some people were offered additives in engine oil and petrol tank in 2nd service in which they do oil top up and no oil change

          • Switching to FS @ 9000kms

            Hey all,

I am currently 9000 kms on ODO running on Motul 5100 15w50. Would it be perfect for me to switch to a FS oil. I believe 7100 is a good option. Suggestions/advice please.

Yup. Feel free to shift to Motul 7100 xW50. Though Motul 300V is a bit expensive than 7100, but if you can, go for 300V. Both of them are really good.

Thanks Myth. And yes, I think I should go for 300v.

                • Today I just noticed a pipe coming out. Never saw it here earlier. Is it some sort of a drainage pipe and should it be here?
I know this is not the carb drainage pipe.(Pic attached)
                  The bike's running fine though.

It is a over petrol pipe and this should be integrated with the bike,

Motul 3000 15W50 is available for about 290/- per litre. I have used it. No complains as far as oil is concerned. Its lasts for 2000km easily. Could have gone more but i didnt take chance. :-)

You can go for 7100 or 300v. May be try in that order. If I am not wrong 7100 is single ester base and 300v is double ester base.

                      Its coolant overflow pipe...
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Whatever it is, it should be fixed somewhere in the engine area...and should not be dangling like this right?

It looks like the petrol over-flow pipe. Was the tank opened for some reason like for air-filter cleaning or tappet adjustment?

You are right, this pipe should not be dangling like this. It is routed somewhere behind the engine. you can do this your self also but you will have to open the tank cover for it.

After the white duke i think bajaj has introduced this in NS as well. Hope its not used by the cops.

Its out of place for sure...seems like coolant overflow pipe to me & if it is the coolant pipe then it should be on the other side of the engine...

Its an aftermarket job for sure cuz the colour job on the front fender is an overkill...rest looks decent though...

Hmm...will get it checked soon. Nope...the tank wasn't opened at all. Thanks

The white pulsar is definitely an after market job because if seen closely, near the grab rail...its written "NS 200" whereas its actually written as "200 NS" in the stock setup.
