Dammit. Why don't local companies market this stuff? There must be a million pulsars on the road here already. The market is for anyone's taking.

Its super costly to get it imported (engine guard is $140 + shipment + import duty..way too costly).

A few months back @Rahuldevnath showed us the location for the AFR screw and was kind enough to let us know the direction it needs to be turned to make the mix richer, I remember I found it confusing since it was the other way round in regards to the P220, so, considering one has to fully close it by turning it clockwise as one would with any other common bolt/screw to know the exact number of turns it was set to (P220), I was wondering if the AFR screw in the P200NS is threaded to screw in by turning it counterclockwise and screw out by turning it clockwise? If that is not the case, then how does one know the number of turns it was set to in order to have a baseline?

To make it simpler, I just want to know how to set it to zero and start from there as I would normally do in my P220.

I hope I wasn't too confusing, thanks in advance.
Thanks from the other side of the world.

the afr screw is as same as any other carb...u rotate it clockwise and it turns lean...rotate it anti clockwise and it turns rich....hence if u turn it clockwise completely it shuts the air...

I met the guy who brought me home, he told me that I was unconscious for about half an hour, and I was able to answer the questions they were asking but that was just it. I couldn't remember what the conversation was. The helmet was broken which did save my life. My clothes were intact and not a scratch anywhere.

I just realized that how sane a rider we are, it takes just one idiot to ruin your day.

But this will not keep me away from my bike. I am a biker by choice and I would like to be that way.

Only one thing still bugs me, NO one has found the solution for that tak tak sound while going on potholes and small uneven surfaces. It was not the fork racer/coneset since I have installed the new coneset recently. I wish someone has found the solution. If so please share
        hope you get well soon

Its super costly to get it imported (engine guard is $140 + shipment + import duty..way too costly). That kind of stuff is not that difficult to make..I had thought of removing the split-grab rail and put a tail bag/side bag stand or a back-rest for pillion there. Someone who does "jugad" for bikes can easily do it and if hes assured that he will get few hundred customers atleast he could see the sense in it.

Any body know anyone who can do such kind of "Jugad" for NS, in Pune??
In Pune all kinds of bike and car Jugaad can be found at nanapeth.. i had told you about a guy who was willing to design a rear mudguard similar to the r15v2..

btw these 2 items are bloody awesome.. wish somebody would source them to india as well

Again this is my Personal Opinion too and not in comparison of any other bike.... I hope majority of the NS owners in this forum are happy with their bikes and we have seen and will see a lot of positives coming our way on this.

          Ride Safe.. Cheers
I am totally agree with your opinion
          Still one question arises.
We had purchased a flagship of Bajaj, right? (even though some of SVC guys will not admit it )
So we should get the maximum performance & smoothness by its stock condition.
Bajaj says use only their motor oil and should be replaced every 10000 KM
Is anyone doing that practice ? No, right?
          Why?

As per our member's words we have to change oil to an expensive one to get maximum from our machine ....
          I do'nt get it ...

I am still just above just 3K on Odo & still on Bajaj DTSi oil (which is semi-synthetic as per their words)

Is there any vehicle which we have to wait thousands of KMs to get its smoothness????
btw: I had met a guy, who have above 7K on ODO in his NS.
I just inquired about his experience. (he was unaware that I am also an owner of a NS)
He said it is butter smooth.
I wondered. and make a test drive on his vehicle.
I don't know what he is meant by smooth mine was better than his NS

I think I had replayed about the user experiences

"Aditya" from KA had replayed that he is having a smooth experience with his NS.
I think it is true by his posts.
          but not everyone

I had made drive more than 10 NSs . All of them are vibrating machines ......

but still I want to love my new byk because of its greater fuel mileage
Which is unbeatable in this category. (150r, R15, P220)

Nothing serious happened to the bike except for the tail number plate light, and the tank panel was broken on the right.

the worst part is I will have to wait for about two months to ride again.
I am really sorry to hear about that.
I know about collar bone break, which I had experienced last year
be well soon, though it will take more than 2 months to recover.

Secondly, my bike is due for 3rd service, and I have clocked 6000kms on ODO. Could anyone suggest me a good engine oil? Preferably Synthetic.
Your average riding speed is below 60KM/hr, right?
So you are getting an average (or good) mileage from your machine
driving above 60 KM/hr in 6th gear will get you maximum mileage(slowly rev the engine to get that speed)

I also think that's the right way, just as it is in any other modern carb (including P220) but both @Rahuldevnath and @Shibadip think it's the other way round, which I find confusing as it doesn't make sense to me, that's the reason I'm still asking about it to know whether or not they got that info directly from the service manual, a reputed/trusted mechanic or if it's just a hunch.

Thanks for the clarification and I hope both of them come to throw some light on the matter, as well as anyone else who wants to discuss this.

In the highlighted part, you actually mean fuel instead of air, right? Because if you are shutting the air, the mix is actually getting richer (less air, same quantity of fuel), so if it actually is shutting the air intake instead of the fuel intake, then both Rahul and Shiba are right.

In the P220 the AFR screw controls the fuel intake, therefore in that case you and I are right about clockwise being leaner (less fuel, same quantity of air) and counterclockwise being richer (more fuel, same quantity of air).

                  Cheers, ride safe.

                    I'm drooling.

Mysore doesn't have any custom handguards. I asked the ktm fellows and they said 5.2k. I'm not sure if the ktm's can be a direct fit on the NS. I hope I can find a good pair for 3.5k in Bengaluru.

Owners from Bengaluru, especially the NWs, has anyone gotten a pair of handguards on their bike? If yes, specs and shop please!

                    Why?
Because there is currently no oil better than motul / shell in the indian market AFAIK. It's not only about smoothness buddy. How well the engine revs and how good is the cleaning efficiency of the oil are also factors. It's the case with most manufaturers. Even R1 users don't use the company provided oil and go for motul products (as I've heard and read).

Frankly, bajaj oil is good enough for normal use. By normal use, I mean for daily commuting and a few bursts of acceleration. But for spirited riding like insane ripping, long highway runs, etc, where the engine is much much more active, these high performance oils become a need. The oil that is used in platina / discover 100 can't be used in a high performance 200cc engine for spirited riding.

As per our member's words we have to change oil to an expensive one to get maximum from our machine ....
                    I do'nt get it ...
Again, it's the better overall quality of these engine oils compared to bajaj's. They simply justify their price.

I am still just above just 3K on Odo & still on Bajaj DTSi oil (which is semi-synthetic as per their words)
Why not change to motul 5100 15w50 SS NOW and see if that changes your opinion? It's not too costly since it's a semi-synth oil.

Is there any vehicle which we have to wait thousands of KMs to get its smoothness???
Yes, that's how things are with most manufacturers. You need to wait for a few thousand kilometers to see the bike's true colours. Exception - Ducati. Their bikes come with engines which are redlined at the factory for hours together. You can ride your ducati however you want from day 1.

btw: I had met a guy, who have above 7K on ODO in his NS.

IMO your bike is smooth too, you're worrying too much.

I think I had replayed about the user experiences

"Aditya" from KA had replayed that he is having a smooth experience with his NS.

Ever ridden a royal enfield? If not, ride the bike for a while (say 10 minutes) and come back to YOUR bike. You'd catch yourself surprised about your remark "NS is a vibrating machine"
When it comes to vibrations, there is NO BIKE which is 100% vibe free. The scooters can be called vibe free because they have a teeny tiny engine whose vibrations get dampened pretty easily. I didn't say mine's 100% vibe free. It's just that mine's comparatively more smoother than most bikes I've ridden.

but still I want to love my new byk because of its greater fuel mileage

Ah yes, that's there. But yesterday I got a mileage of 22 km/l, all thanks to continuous redlining.
                    Replies in bold.

Are you sure they are direct fits?

Overall, a good highway experience and a hell lot of drag fun!

But NS is still my true love
I am getting tappet noises too, everytime I ride hard, the sewing machine sound starts :|
                        It's getting damn annoying.

Plus, above 5k rpm, the vibration sounds in console have gotten too loud these days , inspite of adding several rubber strips here and there on the console.
Add to that the vibrations near the seats/tank :@

I gotta say, I really regret buying this bike. Should have waited and got a RE.

I still have one free service left(april), during which am gonna add Motul 7100. And gonna complain all the bloody niggles of this bike.
Hope it all gets sorted, and the bike becomes a keeper.

                        • My bike clocked 6700kms as of now. motul 5100 changed 800 kms before. Getting some weird issues...
Now a days the same slopes which it used to climb pretty well at 5000 rpm in 6th gear seems tiring for the bike, it hiccs up.
Neutral sets in and it's difficult to engage the first gear. This is a serious issue in bumper to bumper traffic.
The gearbox gives a krrrrr sound at times, rarely though.
Thak kinda sound when I use the front brakes.
Indicators vibrate, or rather sway as in old thumpers.
Same when i run over pot holes, but from the rear end.
                          Vibes, plenty of them.
                          Any solutions?
Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

The event comprised of about 470 bikers from all over West Bengal and it was one roller coaster ride including a 20kms rally (approx) bringing the NH2 to a still
where are the rest of the pics from the event...? and it was a day well well spent at wheels united 2013 where brotherhood is redefined...

Wish I had one like this too. I work in the night shifts, none of the cab drivers dim their lights regardless of signalling them. That's when I am desperately in need of having this set up, so that I could force the irresponsible oncoming to dim their lights and then I too can go back to my low beam riding.
It's good to have this set up but we must make sure that it doesn't affect anyone, even by mistake.

+1000 to your comment brother...... and when you are on the highway doing 120kmph, you really dont want any nasty surprises within 100 meters in front of you.... and thats the reason this thing is done.... it can cover close to 200 metres due to the auxillary.... i keep it in mind not to cause glare to oncoming traffic and do the needfull always.....

I changed to motul 3100 from my first service too, somehow I think that motul might be the one causing the fault, although I may be totally dumb here.

                              What do you think?
Now I seriously dunno whether I should move to 7100 during the 3rd service or get back to DTSi oil. Any comments on this people?

                                I am not sure.
But according to the website, these are universal hand protectors which are fitted on to the brake and clutch levers.
Searched the net for something that fit the description and came up with this.
