The pass switch only works on low-beam, or when only the pilot lamps are lit or when the lights are off.

Just repeatedly ask svc guys to put Motul oil in your bike, don't give up & they will eventually accept your request (warranty continued!). Also purchase the recommended grade from a dealer before servicing as your SVC may not have Motul oil at all. Not the one you must switch to.

i use the same cycle lock and lock it with the rear no. plate holder...and the helmet resting on the rear seat with the bike parked look cool too :P

I must say this is best looking pulsar (as per me) and I am getting lot of attention on road. I met few people asking about mileage too. I am trying to complete 2000 km as soon as possible and finish my run in. I am keeping it under 4K rpm and only twice tried 5K rpm for few seconds. I am using the same stock tires and no plan to change as of now.
Congrats and welcome. Tyre have not so bad grip. Watch out for water/oil/sand/gravel on road. My tyres lasted for 10K kms however, at later stage lost grip on rear and would fishtail under hard braking. Still using them and plan to change rear during the monsoon beginning.

There was constant sound coming from chain, there was sound from both front and rear discs and little bit of vibration near fuel tank. All these issues were fixed during free NS camp in Pune. I am not so much worried about these things as I just want to enjoy my ride.

I feel the bike is meant for highway, riding this bike in city is bit difficult as I have to keep changing gears. I have not clicked any picture as of now, but I will post it as soon as possible. I am thinking of to give it for servicing once ODO reads 500, as from yesterday bike is not so smooth and gear shifting is hard too. I think it is time for oil change and tuning.
500 on odo is good time to get it serviced. I too faced similar problems. Gear shift is still erratic but I have accepted it as part of deal and get it corrected as and when I change oil.

Persist SVC & try SVC where KTM gets serviced as Motul is used for Duke by SVC itself. However dont know Duke oil grade. You may also get oil changed from outside while you service NS in SVC. However, I am curious to know why are you so against DTSi oil? I once tried to change oil to Motul but did not see significant difference (it was semi synthetic). Also, NS needs 1200/1400 ml oil and keeping unused oil is a pain. So I have switched back to DTSi and plan to change oil every 2K kms.

Those helmet locks would certainly look ugly unless you get it designed from a designer Try purchasing those sackbags which can accomodate helmets and carry it with you. Trust me looks cool, trendy and set you apart from crowd.

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

            1. It's alright. Just persuade the svc in the right way and they'll come through. Befriend the service executive. My svc's executive let my warranty continue even though he saw I had installed a HID.

            3. Helmet lock would look ugly on the rear grab rail. Fix it on the lower part of the left crash guard like I have. Trust me, it simply blends into the bike's design.

            • hey guys,

i am planning to go for 200 ns. my current bike is pulsar 220 which has done 45000 kms.
i have scrolled through previous few pages of this thread, but most of the posts are about headlight set up.

please help me understand common problems with this bike. as far as i know, some chain noises, huss noise from disc brakes, vibrations from foot pegs, hard clutch etc are some of the commonly talked problems. but any major issues?? or any of the above mentioned issues are due to any major fault??

              Thanks in advance

Not a great upgrade for you since you come from 220( i mean in terms if power, dint get me wring )Why not a more powerful bike if you plan to upgrade?? And you'll not feel comfortable with headlight since you got used to projectors.. My advice, it's your choice then

going for 200NS from a 220F doesn't look like an upgrade at all. I haven't ridden 220F but isn't it relatively same in terms of power, pickup ? ride quality etc.
If you're just looking for a change and have money to spare... then may be it's OK to go for it, but better to wait for the next Pulsar, which is due 2014 ?

my left hand is paining while holding clutch again and again...(point is clutch is too hard...)
i wonder how guys from mumbai, pune, banglore are manage to drive regular basis...

i have also doubt about turning capability of ns.... is it ns able to make hairpin curve(curve on ghats where traffic from both side on) at one go.... (any one tried pls throw some light)

mine ns is 500 km old and i love short touring...(like 100 to 200 km) but yesterdays experience was painful
Get the clutch loosen a bit..and eventually the clutch will be loosened as well as your arm will be used to the clutch so you won't feel the pain. I don't find it that hard now and I ride about 40km daily right through the heart of Pune City..

I never felt any big issue as such with the turning radius of NS. Its just matter of getting used to. Once you start to know your bike well enough, you will be able to maneuver it very easily. I had some problem initially as I was graduating from HH Passion, so it took me a while to adjust to the weight and turning radius of NS. But yes its not as agile as some other bikes but it ain't all that bad..And NS definitely can take any hairpin turns..its as much about the bike as the skills of the rider..I can take a U-turn within a 12-15 feet space with only a little efforts (as compared to my HH Passion) and I am not one of those skilled riders as well...so i don't think anybody should have a real hard time with NS while taking U turns.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Thanks guys. But I am not going for an upgrade as such. Its just a change. Since I won't be able to stretch my budget for a bigger bike. The reason for change is my current bike has started giving troubles in recent past. And actually I don't intent to go for more powerful bike. Hence shortlisted ns. Just wanted to know about any major problems exist in 200ns.

And guys I remember removing a air intake rubber enclosing under the rider seat, which helps make the engine roar even under lower rpms.
Do we have something like that in our NS to do??
