You are absolutely right. Its up to the driver to dip their headlights.

Many luxury cars have projectors as standard. Most of them dip the lights. People who drive Benz and cars of those sorts are extra careful while on the road. Maybe they just want to prevent damage to their cars. A flying brick into the wind shield is more than enough and a broken wind shield would cost them a lot of money.
Recently, a similar incident happened near my place. Someone threw a pretty large stone onto front glass for not dipping their lights.
However, its the people who fix HIDs as extras (not only HIDs but things like extra loud horns) don't bother about others on the road.

They deserve a brick or two for jeopardizing someone else's life for no damn reason. I hate the bikes/cars with HIDs which simply leave you blind, you have to imagine the road until that idiot passes by. And if its small roads with no dividers then this could be really dangerous. In cities one rarely needs high beam. All the idiots with such irresponsible behavior should be fined heavily.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

If it's without projectors then surely it's a problem for on coming traffic!
Blinding the riders/drivers !! Please put a projector if it's not there.

Mine doesn't have a projector. Like I said, the one I'm using is temporary, like a test to see how well the battery would respond to it. I am planning on a branded projector setup in a month or two. So please, easy guys!

Great experience, but my brother as a pillion really disliked the bike lolz. He said due to the grab handles and the rear seat, the pillion can't sit relaxed like other bikes & needs to be careful due to the aggressive nature of the bike.... which can be tiresome after a while. He doesn't know how to ride so he woudn't know how it feels a rider.
Also vibrations were minimal, except the handle bars & knee recesses which vibrate like crazy over 80kph. I kind of like that feeling of handle bars though sometimes I don't. Could this be due to slight jamming of my front tire ? which some people have said is because of air bubbles in break oil ?
All these days my bike was vibe free too. The engine is darn smooth but a few vibes have crept in on the handlebars and knee recesses; they sound like the 220's vibrations. I need to find the time to get rid of em. But that's common. Just don't complain to the svc, they'll somehow screw things up. #personal experience

              • Hello people,

Most of us here refer to regularly checking the oil quality for its coarseness and viscosity, by rubbing its against your thumbs. My question is - how do you take a oil sample out of the engine ? As in, there is no dip stick like you have in four wheelers to do that.

Also, has any one here has been to sai service, lower parel ? If yes then how is the quality of service out there? My first service has been booked and its on the coming monday

                Thanks in advance

                • So,I am going for my first service tommorow with 400-odd kilometres on the odo. I won't have the time to spare after a week because my entrance exams are coming up. Please help me in checking off the things I have to do on the first service apart from those stuff mentioned in the service manual. I have a Castrol 20w50 SS oil, going to ask for a coolant top-up, also gonna make sure that the rear panel scratches (during transportation) are touched up, also ensuring that all the nuts and bolts are tightened. If I can procure a center stand, then that too is going on. Also gonna ask them to set a CO setting of 2 % and idle rpm to 1200 instead of the 1100 now.

                  1) What things should I keep in mind when I ask them to rectify the vibrations and sometimes jerky throttle response?

                  2) I have a Monster Energy Rim tape (green). Will the svc personnel know how to stick em on to the rims or do I have to do it myself? Other NSians who have done these rim stripes, please help.

                  3) Will installing an alarm system from Roots have any long term adverse effects on the battery, especially if some git tries and sets it off repeatedly? ( Yes,that happens quite frequently)

                  4) If console vibes persist, then according to a DIY posted in the DIY thread, can I substitute the old rags with something else which won't absorb moisture? If so,then what?

                  5) There is a squeaking noise coming from the front. It's different from the noise from when the brakes are applied. I think it's just the brake pads rubbing against the rotor, but what else could be the reason? ( please don't say fork problems, please don't say fork problems )

Please add anything you feel I have left out.

If its continuous squeaking noise, then front wheel bearing needs oiling, i had same problem ..

You can purchase it through online like ebay,....
300% more light will get from an HID Xenon bulb
means more than a 100w normal halogen bulb
                          35w hid s are popular

Please buy HID with UV filter; to prevent melting& discoloration of your reflector

Here - Malappuram, Kerala - its cheap. below 1K with fitting charge
                          obviously without UV filter

As a non-faired bike where do we kept the ballast????
It may make more vibe sound

                          3. I suggest you to buy roots only, because it is user friendly
My friend had been using it for last 3 years without any battery drainage on his P180. (mine was Minda)
                          4. I think you cant get rid-off I mean the sound ....

                            • Where the hell do u guys think that i will have oncoming traffic on a 6 lane highway....? May i have the answer please? And i already told u...the fogs are off inside city... And my main headlight is having a hid which is yellow in color with a greenish tinge... And the same goes with the fog. Its greenish yellow in real life.... And even if i switch them on, there is not much of a glare because of the yellow with green tint....yes, the light is very powerful but it doesnt have much glare....moreover, the fog is positioned at a very low angle and thus the entire light falls on the road very near to my bike... I know what i am doing and dont want any stupid suggestions from anyone....no one is putting a bullet on anyone's head and forcing to comment... And for the rvm, i'll keep those off in the congested kolkata traffic.... I have not removed them for show off, but have removed them because i cant go into small gaps and those are hit every now and then...a real pain in the city... Those are fitted back whenever i am out of kolkata and on the highway.... I am sensible and matured enough to understand what i am doing....and thats the reason i fitted lime yellow hids on my bike so as reduce glare whereas people in XBHP are using 8000k hid with so called projectors which have much more glare than my hid inside the reflector...Period... And for the looks part, i am not worried as long as it serves the purpose...

My 2MP phone simply shows a bright patch of white light at night. It's good, better than what I expected for the money. Will upload later today.

Don't buy the cheap ones online. They could be used and repackaged. A friend experienced this. It was a bad pocket burn in the end.

I'm not sure how the pass light can be used with a bi-xenon HID because the bulb takes atleast 5 seconds to brighten up. Or is there another tungsten bulb alongside?

Mine for sure doesn't have a UV filter. I use the HID for a minimum of 20 minutes everyday. So what would be the state of the reflector in a few months (if the HID still works till then I mean)?

The headlamp visor was removed and the ballast was simply slid through the gap between the console and the headlamp. Yeah vibes have increased since then. More stuffing to be done. Stuffing really works!
