I had sold out my old Unicorn due to this defect, which can't be repairable.
Still Unicorn's are brought by poor fellows
Since the defect is not corrected by Honda.
PS:- Still I love Unicorn, which is unbeatable within 150cc commuter bike, except that missing
I am pretty sure, it is not at all electrical fault.
Iam facing the same issue from a couple of days now.. Initially i thought its because of cold engine but it happened even while the engine is hot.. I Suspect it to be the fault with the Carb settings or with the spark plug. Seniors Please correct me on this...

My NS is now 3000 on ODO & I will not recommend it to anybody
even though it is giving best in class handling & unbelievable petrol mileage among Pulsar's(180,200,220,NS)........
take a test ride before booking. If you don't have any problem with vibrations, then its the best Pulsar
everybody says about body panel vibrations & how to get rid off. But it is not the truth. NS's engine vibrates a lot which is unbearable.
Some times it happens at all RPM levels. Mine is vibe free only between 5-5.5K rpm
by going through this thread you can understand that missing is a common phenomena.
My advice is that before registering your bike, take it to above 7K rpm @ sixth gear to check this. dont bother about running-in its only for seconds& will not harm your bike.
SVC guys replaced my carburetor. now pickup is low. but neat mileage of 43-45. on my average riding speed of 65-75
We can only adjust clutch lever play, right?
not stiffness.
@Spknair... I really appreciate your concern towards the recommendation of the bike sir and I agree its completely your opinion, I have been using this bike from past 7 months now and its 7500 kms on the Odo and have done a couple of short rides ( 100 & 200 kms) and am happy about the overall performance of the bike apart from a few glitches which I believe most of the bikes ( other Brands) would have faced and seems to be quite normal to me.. Again this is my Personal Opinion too and not in comparison of any other bike.... I hope majority of the NS owners in this forum are happy with their bikes and we have seen and will see a lot of positives coming our way on this.
Ride Safe.. Cheers

On Sunday I did 290 km in a day. Went from Pune to Roha and back. Bike has become silk smooth after first servicing. No more engine kills no more jumping off RPM after few km running. While I was leaving from Pune I saw 4 Pulsar 200 NS parked near hinjawadi at 7 am and heading towards lonavala. Was it someone from this forum?
BTW the ride was effortless I observed no vibrations, no shoulder pain. The only thing was I had restriction of not exceeding 5k RPM till I complete 2000 km. The fuel efficiency received was 46 km/ltr. Very impressive indeed!

There are plenty out there in market, local as well as branded varying with cost.Originally posted by sara2868 View PostGood Morning all !
could any one suggest me what to do for chain maintenance .
Is there anything we have to do periodically .. ? please suggest and also suggest with product details ..
And also regarding seat im planning to changing the cushion so any suggestion related to this also will be much appreciated
Many thanks in advance !
I see all works efficiently so I din't go for any branded one. using from past 4-5 yrs with local company mine was for Rs120 a small bottle.
But you can use diesel as well.

am finally going to book my bike this saturday.
they said il get the bike in 14 days with registration.
i was going to get the r15 before, but i found it bit slow and small for my height, 6'3.
i have read issues like engine vibes, hard clutch, bad rear tire, weak horn etc
i dont care about mileage.
i dint get a chance to get a test ride.
can any one tell me any major problems with the bike ? should i go for it ?
even thought about the duke, but i find it over priced.
and am from mumbai, so can any one tell me the best bajaj svc here ?

You probably made a critical mistake before deciding on getting a bike without a test ride. You won't get a chance to reverse the decision if you find the bike not suitable to you and your riding style. Try and get a test ride in any one of the various showrooms in mumbai. Pick a bike based on your riding style.Originally posted by mutatedknutz View Postam finally going to book my bike this saturday.

And the problems with the bike cannot be generalised. Yes,the tyres aren't exceptional for spirited riding but are fairly adequate for daily commuting and the occasional corner. Vibes do not emanate from the engine actually, but rather some of the plastic parts. Not a deal breaker when these can be rectified to a fair extent by using rubber gromets and tightening the nuts and bolts. Clutch is hard at stock settings, but you can adjust it a bit or get used to it eventually.
About the horn..yup,it's sorta weak, but you can change it when you like. won't cost a lot.

Had a mishap today. Was coming home from market, suddenly from a small road, a cyclist came infront of me in the fast lane, hit the brakes, but someone hit me from behind, I hit the divider and everything went blank, though I hit the divider in very slow speeds, I fell on my shoulder and my collar bone was broken.
Nothing serious happened to the bike except for the tail number plate light, and the tank panel was broken on the right.
the worst part is I will have to wait for about two months to ride again.BreaklessBiker

But here I see you are more concern on your bike!!
Please think on yourself instead of bike. This or any bike in future or present won't be the last piece in the universe. There will be many if you are well.

Hello chaps... and ladies if that's the case.
A few months back @Rahuldevnath showed us the location for the AFR screw and was kind enough to let us know the direction it needs to be turned to make the mix richer, I remember I found it confusing since it was the other way round in regards to the P220, so, considering one has to fully close it by turning it clockwise as one would with any other common bolt/screw to know the exact number of turns it was set to (P220), I was wondering if the AFR screw in the P200NS is threaded to screw in by turning it counterclockwise and screw out by turning it clockwise? If that is not the case, then how does one know the number of turns it was set to in order to have a baseline?
To make it simpler, I just want to know how to set it to zero and start from there as I would normally do in my P220.
I hope I wasn't too confusing, thanks in advance.Last edited by leodj29; 03-21-2013, 10:03 PM.
