PSA: For folks who are yet to get their 200NS's 3rd Free Service done, please note that Bajaj has revised the duration of 3rd free service from 8 months/240 days to 365 days.

I visited the Khivraj Service Center at Marthahalli (Bangalore) to get the 3rd free service done as I bought the bike 8 months back. The branch manager, Mr. Harish informed that Bajaj has revised the period from 8 months to 1 year.

Can folks who bought 200NS recently check their manual book and confirm what is the duration that is specified in it?

Also, if you knew this, kindly ignore this post.

PS: I would still recommend that you verify this info if you are yet to get your 3rd FS done. Please do not hold me responsible later

Thank you sunilg ... Mine was bought on 11 March,'14. My bike manual says 9,500-10,000 Kms or 240 days, From the date of sales whichever occurs earlier.
So, they have made the change on the new manual also. I just crossed 6k on odo. So, the service manager suggested to cover at least another 2,000-3,000 Kms and then give for the 3rd service in Jan/Feb 2015.

Make sure to get the date changed on Service Booklet. Else, they will simply put their hands up during later stage.

Cheerz!!

Thanks devils_friend That, the manager already did. He has made a correction on 240 days and wrote 365 days there. I am hoping that he won't go back on his words

Refer to the second image. That is the right way.

You can even try the mounts from the oldest model apache, all models of discovers except 125 st, stunner, duke (if you have the money) and most other bikes with single piece handlebars with two separate clamps like the one on my bike.

A friend happened to topple his bike causing some damage to his bike. How much does the tail section body panel and rear side indicator cost? Will a black coloured tail section look good on a white black ns?

Hey folks, had my second service done today at bajaj service station rithala.
Well it seems befriending the ns mech definitely helps and i am pretty satisfied with the service except that the mech tightned the bit to much, but thats not something i cant do myself.

Was using motul 3000 20w50 previously now switched to motul 5100 15w50.

Here is m5100 vs m3000 (my experience)
-No Noticeable change in smoothness 5100 might be a bit more smoother than 3000 but this cud be pseudo feeling
-Vibes are definitely less with the 5100
-No noticable change in the smoothness of gears as well (same exp with 5100 nd 3000 Ns is not known for its gearbox anyway, it just gets the job done...)

Sounds like a screw loose somewhere as the sound stops when bike is idling. If sound continues but at a slower pace when idling then it is engine related. However in the absolute worst case scenario the valve clearence may be at fault. That is to say the tappet on top of the valve may have outlived its usefulness.
