Secondly, how can bajaj SVC guys conveniently say that it is a common problem with Pulsar? They have to provide a fix for it instead of getting away with it. What say brothers?
    Disc sprayed with lubricant???????

Only cleaning will do. Never lubricate the disc. It will defy its purpose.

WHen I had a similar recurring noise for my Ninja 250r disk, the SVC guy had sprayed the disc and that had made the noise disappear.
The right way to do is by detaching the front wheel, take out gear assembly, lubricate it with white grease. This eliminates that recurring noise from the front wheel disc.

      • Guys help me

        Hi all,
I bought P200NS a month ago. My first servicing is done. I want to know how I should use the bike to get good average. Currently its giving me 37. Also I am planning to put iridium spark plugs and air filter. I would like to know will this affect its mileage.
I am a kind of rider who wants performance but dont want to hamper my machine. Please guys help me.

But then how will the pads grip the disc???
I dont think that was any kind of lublicrant. Rather must have been some kind of cleaning liquid

37 is a good fuel efficiency for an NS200. You must be happy with it.

Yesterday found one more issue with my bike, my fuel indicator needle was in 3rd after I switch off the vehicle & started again in signal it showed single needle + the fuel indication warning I was like thought fuel is leaking but no. then again I restarted the bike & it says 3 needles without warning.

It's stupid to think of putting any lubricant on the disc. The disc pads needs to be cleaned up. Sometimes, scrap the upper layer of the pad with sandpaper. Indian conditions demand a more/frequent clean up of the parts.

People buy Duke/NS & then say "I am getting less mileage!" Great Stuff!

the guy who sprayed the disc of my Ninja earlier said it was a spray that will 'smoothen' it out. May be I will pass on your remark to him saying - it is stupid to spray the disc

Please also post a side profile pic, and a rear end pic from a little more distance ( and in daylight). I think the broad rear tyres will show its glory without the tyre hugger.

about speedo, never have 100% faith on the digital speedo. from my experience of P150, the digital speedo always showed errors from the 1st day, and then again self adjusted itself.

ya 37 kmpl is quite good for a 200cc,23.5bhp engine.
but still if wants further milage, then ride the NS like a splendor.

Till now I dint face any problem with the speedo console, I heard like after switching on the Ignition the Rpm should raise & come down to zero then we should start the engine is it true ?

Spray / Disc cleaner is a different thing. But "Lube" as rx100.7050 has mentioned is certainly not advised.

Sure bro, take ur time on the pics. No hurry
BTW, was removing the hugger a DIY, or done at service centre??

Abt the ignition switch, ya its kinnda self-check procedures of all the components working fine. Though dont know the authenticity of that.

                              • Got my pulsar 200NS Red

Got the bike on Saturday and I am having issues since that day..

                                1. Initially there was a scratch on the tank, made due to the morons washing the bike. Since the bike was already registered in my name the dealer got the tank changed for me (from another bike)

                                2. There was a scratch on the disk on the front disk break. When I informed him about this, the dealer showed me around 10 bikes (godown) which had similar scratches.

                                3. On Monday after driving for around 70kms (not at a stretch) monoshock started making a squeaking sounds. When I took it to the service guys, they adjusted (twisted) it a little and the sounds disappeared.

                                4. I'm having idling issues also, I set the rpm to 1500 but this sometimes increases and decreases under the same conditions. And the engine keeps shuting off.

                                5. The bike does not start on just pressing the starter button. I have the press the starter and provide it with a little amount of accelerator - which is not the case with my colleagues bike. I just have to press the starter button (without giving accelerator) and his roars to life.

                                6. Mileage!!! 20km on the ODO, I topped up the vehicle with 10lts of shell. Now I'm nearing 200kms and the fuel indicator shows just 1 bar
My colleague has the same 200NS and he's done 120 on the ODO, not even a single bar has decreased.!!

                                7. Today(worst one): Drove my beast for about 12kms and the engine started behaving weird. While driving all of a sudden the idling increased to 4500 Didn't decrease at all, turned it off and then started it again but still it remained the same..
So i adjusted it using the idling screw, turned it by almost 3 threads for the idling to subside. Drove for a few meters then suddenly the idling was way too low due to which I had to increase it to where it was earlier.

Called up the service guy at Bannerghatta road (who is supposedly trained/certified by Bajaj). This guy says 4500 is normal !!! I lost my patience there and blasted him... Now I don't have the confidence to even give it to those service guys.

I am not a newbie with vehicles so I have not driven the vehicle rashly. I have gone above 50kmph only twice till now and made sure the rpm was below 4k at all times.

My previous vehicle is a Fiero and I have driven it for 12 yrs, changed the ODO once with the same kind of driving style - NO ISSUES TILL NOW
                                Any suggestions guys?
