  • Guys...I've been following this thread since a long time now...
I almost made up my mind on getting the NS 200 for myself...but out of nowhere...my dad became over generous & told me that we can stretch the budget to 1.3 lacs...
Now, I am confused between which bike to get for myself :
    -The NS or
    -The DuKe

I have only ONE question :
Is DuKe worth the premium over P 200 NS ?

Also I wound like to mention that I'm satisfied with the performance of the 200 NS , but I don't like the way it looks...I mean , it doesn't appeal me that much ( I have NOT yet seen this bike in person though , but at least it doesn't appeal me that much in the pics...)

I'll be keeping this bike for a long time of around 5-6 years , or maybe even more...please assist me with this by providing me with an answer and also (if you can...) explain me the reason behind your answer.

    Thank You.

Not everytime. Just during the first initial kms.

Its not complusory.. but an engine oil change NEVER hurts.

I've had the exact same problem on my bike. I increased the idle stop screw (located to the right on the carb) and set the bike to 1500 rpm which seems to have resolved the issue. Nevertheless I still have an issue with the bike dying off after a long ride. Could be the AFR setting but this is best left to the service center.

Your in the wrong section.. Get the Overdrive Magazine for the month of the August and read about the comparison. It does a good comparison.

You have to use the M (Mode) and S (Set) buttons to do so.
                        1. Press the mode button to select TRIP 1 mode.
                        2. Press the mode and set button together for more than 3-4 secs. Then the ':' in the clock will start blinking.
                        3. Now if you press the mode button, the hour will chance and increment by 1 each time, and pressing the set button will have the same effect on the Minutes.
                        4. Once the desired time is set, press both the mode and set buttons together for 3-4 secs. This will save the settings and will exit the 'clock mode'
                        5. P.S: do not touch the throttle till the setting is saved as it is supposed to exit the clock from the set mode without saving the value.

All this is mentioned in the manual in Page no 11.

I had to set my clock yesterday as the SVC guys tried to fix an issue (which finally they couldnt) and in that process disturbed my clock setting also.

                          • Sound from Rear Disc
I am getting a strange noise from my rear disc when I move the vehicle. Probably, the vehicle cross 10/15 KMPH the sound goes unnoticed or may be its not audible.
Is this something to worry about/ does the rear disc brake pads have to bed in?
One more issue is that the gear shifts fell little hard/tough shifting now. The gear shifts were butter smooth on the day one.

@XBHPians in Bangalore- Need to buy Gloves, Rim Tapes, Number plate job, Bike wash Shampoos and Wax Polishes. Please recommend a place and name of the shop. Can get this done over the weekend. If any new NSians wants the above mentioned things, we can tag along this weekend?

                            Someone?

PS: A big nooby when it comes to biking. Kindly bear with it.

                              Drove between 2.5-4k rpm..accelerate and leave thrittle..2-3times in each gear.. for 10 km..didn't go past 50.. I think that is 5th or 6th year..start from 40/42 - 50 in a flash..

Then after about 10k..ripped in every gear..except first to 5/6k rpm..didn't go past 6k rpm I think..speedo showed 98..then stopped..after about 500m..tried to go past 6..but was not possible as I was looking on spped and not revving..

                              Sorry I forgot 3-5k which u suggested..2.5-4 felt comfortable for first 10km..

                              Please comment and suggest improvements..
What you are doing is fine. In the intial kms of bike, engine will feelrestricted and will open up gradually. 3-5k rmp is just for guidance, just dont ride in very low RPM for long durations. Thats it!

Is Duke worth the extra money: Yes it is, however is that extra will appeal to you: Depents entirely on you. Post your query in what bike thread, you will get defailed reponses on it.
