  • Pulsar 200NS blue delivered

I do not know where to start. Please forgive me if the flow of post is random.

Kudos to sales people. They delivered as promised.

The ODO on the bike was showing 64.5 when it came to me. I can understand this since they had to take all the way up to Tambram RTO and come back.

When i started riding my bike i felt like it was very RAW. the test bike was smoother and i was not comfortable at all. So went around Adayar for a small trip and after 5 mins i got adjusted to the Riding position.

While returning home i got stuck in slow moving traffic for 30 mins.
The head light is bright enough in pitch black conditions though i can understand why other owners say its not that good for highways riding.

Horn is decent enough. I could not feel any issue due to vibrations.
Brakes were good but most of the time i slowed down the bike instead of braking. I must get adjusted to the indicator switch. Since this is my first bike and due to heavy traffic I did feel some pain in my right wrist but it is gone now.

Overall: This bike is awesome to ride. I would definitely agree this is not as eye catching as the bumblebee but people did notice and make me lose concentration.

    • I just now read posts complaining about down shifting.
It happened to me once, while down shifting it did not go one gear down and i had to re do it again. I thought it was me not doing it proper.
Is this a cause of concern ?

          What do you say?????

CRF 250 auto decompression - YouTube

NOt at all an engine issue .....
Hey sree@mumbai, thanks. I thought the auto deompressor is used to start the bike similar to a choke but works at the cam layer. I believe its characteristic sound of the NS engine and not really an issue. Whats really bugging me though is the idling. So taking the bike out on a short ride is no problem and the bike idles at 1500 rpm at every signal, but taking the bike on a long ride, long enough for the radiator to start, and the engine dies at every single. Its usually at around 1000 rpm. I am going to ruin my starter Any thoughts here anyone.

Hi raghavs, this has happened to me a couple of times as well. Try not being so gentle on the gears while changing. It may help. I am hoping the gear shifting will smoothen out in time. Try reporting it during your first service though.

            • For all whom facing downshift problem, I also experienced it some times...

I leave clutch a bit and it'll click in. Not became a problem.

I've got an issue here.. don't know its an issue or some minor adjustment to do...am not a DIY person.

When I start engine for the first time, it starts in first push and will idle @ 1200-1300 RPM. I'll let it to warm up. After warming it up, when I try to accelerate, in 1 - 2 K rpm there is a feeling that engine is going to off.. i mean "that thing" experiencing while changing from main - reserve on the go.. a missing like.... but after 2k when I continue revving it goes smooth..

It only happens in idling and 1st gear. Any !dea guys?

My friend told it'll be okay by setting up AFR. If its AFR issue, can any one tell where AFR screw is situated in NS?

              Please help me.

Dont mess with the AFR screw by yourself, esecially if your not into DIY. If it is gettign that uncomfortable then get it adjusted from the SVC.

Anyone from tamilnadu took the red one? The dealer claims that no one in Tamilnadu except Chennai have the red one!

                      Any suggestions?
                      your dealer is correct.
Red is in shortage with the First and Second lot in Tamil Nadu. You might need to wait a little more. But i think it is worth the wait.

                      • Guys, i have been facing a small issue with the gearbox xO
When i shift from 1st to 2nd gear, very often it would be in neutral and the N light wouldn't blink and the RPM would increase to 4-5k RPM, any idea what's the issue ?? x)
                        Suggestions anyone ? xD

                        • Sound from Rear Disc

I am getting a strange noise from my rear disc when I move the vehicle. Probably, the vehicle cross 10/15 KMPH the sound goes unnoticed or may be its not audible.
Is this something to worry about/ does the rear disc brake pads have to bed in?
One more issue is that the gear shifts fell little hard/tough shifting now. The gear shifts were butter smooth on the day one.

@XBHPians in Bangalore- Need to buy Gloves, Rim Tapes, Number plate job, Bike wash Shampoos and Wax Polishes. Please recommend a place and name of the shop. Can get this done over the weekend. If any new NSians wants the above mentioned things, we can tag along this weekend?

PS: A big nooby when it comes to biking. Kindly bear with it.

                          • starting problem..

Guys.. I started the bike and let it idle for about 2 min.. I try to throttle a bit without clutch..it turns off..took a 5 second break..tried again..it idles fine..but right when I throttle it turns off..

And then I use clutch and first gear..off..couple of times..same result..

Finally I rev a bit hard..first gear and go..but still had a feeling bike is going to switch off..then I rode for anout 250m..after taking a turn..it turned off..

The svc guy set 1300 rpm min..

After 12km ride tried to turn on.. I didn't faceany problem..

So what should I do ??? If i start tomorrow again after 12 hours or so??

                            Awaiting reply... thanks..

For both of you, your bike is running lean. AFR needs to be adjusted. However its not easily accesible in NS and only svc guys can do it.

                                (1) Ride between 3K - 5K RPM
                                (2) Post 10Kms on ODO, give short bursts of acceleration till 8k RPM (once every 30kms or so) (and engine should hot enough, say at least 10 kms of riding before you give a burst)
                                (3) When giving short bursts, try to do it in all the gears.
                                (4) Change engine oil by 80-90kms on ODO.
                                (5) Post 150Kms on ODO start riding between 4K-5K RPM normally.

                                - Don't ride for long distance, and try to vary the speeds (medium traffic is best)

                                - While giving bursts don't sustain for a long time, say 10seconds is enough.

                                This is what i follow..
@rahul.. with help of your detailed instructiins.. I have done the following.. its a 1 km roundabout empty road..cool breeze was around..

                                Drove between 2.5-4k rpm..accelerate and leave thrittle..2-3times in each gear.. for 10 km..didn't go past 50.. I think that is 5th or 6th year..start from 40/42 - 50 in a flash..

Then after about 10k..ripped in every gear..except first to 5/6k rpm..didn't go past 6k rpm I think..speedo showed 98..then stopped..after about 500m..tried to go past 6..but was not possible as I was looking on spped and not revving..

                                Sorry I forgot 3-5k which u suggested..2.5-4 felt comfortable for first 10km..

                                Please comment and suggest improvements..
