Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
It isnt the tappets.. The noise is not like this [ i know, ive gone through 2 exhaust arms already!- they keep failing somehow, luckily changed them before they caused major damage. Now, all fine since the engine work/de-carb]Originally posted by Balgi View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys, this is my NGK spark plug. One of my friends told me that this does not look right. It should be of a different colour. The svc guy told me that this is fine because the NS has three spark plugs so the combustion is slightly different from other bikes. I didn't understand his logic, so I'm posting this here.
Can any experts help me? Is this looking right? Or is there some problem with the AFR according to you?

Also, does the other end of the spark plug have anything to do with the performance? I noticed my threads have been slightly damaged.

Lastly, is this even the right model for the NS? If this is wrong, please tell me the model number which is correct for the bike.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Checked that. But it is definitely from the engine as per my observation. And sound appears only after 4k RPM and loud upto 5K RPM than vanishes. I thought the timing chain is worn out. But I am a noob in all this so lets see what SVC guys say next week. Thanks.Originally posted by vivek7593 View PostAlso Check rear foot rest..

How much does it cost to change tappet/valves? Any idea? Odo 19.5k kms.Originally posted by Balgi View PostSounds like a screw loose somewhere as the sound stops when bike is idling. If sound continues but at a slower pace when idling then it is engine related. However in the absolute worst case scenario the valve clearence may be at fault. That is to say the tappet on top of the valve may have outlived its usefulness.Last edited by Himanshu Patel; 11-23-2014, 12:05 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Got it.. Friends.. No need to worry.
It is just some loose nut and bolt of exhaust mount below front seat. Grab the exhaust with something like cleaning cloth and rev up the engine, noise disappears. Here is the pic of that loose part.
Meanwhile I found front left lower leg guard bolt missing.

If a part of this bolt has broken inside the socket behind your stand, then you would need to change the main engine mounting bolt also, which costs 33 rupees.
I just got that done yesterday.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
The left rear footrest mounting point has also got cracked(hole where the footrest bolt goes in). Is the mounting point part of the chassis? Any one pleaseOriginally posted by rollno.∞ View PostA friend happened to topple his bike causing some damage to his bike. How much does the tail section body panel and rear side indicator cost? Will a black coloured tail section look good on a white black ns?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi guys i remember something from my recent service.
I asked the mech to clean the spark plugs, and when he took them out, they were definitely dark brown at the tip, cud this be an indication that the bike is running a bit rich??
I am getting a mileage of about 36-38kmpl under normal driving conditions...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Single one or dual horns? I do like trumpet horns but they are too loud and the cops try to write me a ticket for it. I'd like to hear a sound of your horn and it would be great if you could post a picture to show how it is mounted.Originally posted by DesiRipper View Posti am currently using MINDA Trumpet and satisfied with itI am back!

While trumpet horns are easy to fit on the NS, the vibro mini might be tricky as they'll face the left and right sides of the bike instead of straight. But if you do manage to install vibro minis straight on the NS, let us know how you did it. I'm looking to do the same for my duke.
