I checked the ODO reading before my own delivery, tyres for mud etc. Also don't let the showroom guy redline your bike just to warm up the engine. New bikes stall at first few starts, so they do it so the novice buyers don't ask unnecessary questions.. why the bike isn't idling etc.

Also one more thing i have noticed with my front brake is there comes a lot of play in front brake lever after some usage...like i got my bike serviced 2 weeks back and told them this rain-brake issue and also told them to tighten the lever, for one week it was pure bliss, just a small press of brake lever and used to get awesome front brake bite(also it dint rain in the first week of servicing), but now in second week again there is a play in the brake lever, brake gets applied when the lever is pulled to almost half position....
I have this brake fade issue from day 1... drops of water and no brakes... its damn scary... my front brake dont uave much bite in normal conditions too.... no feedback, no stopping power... squeeze the lever and it wont slow down much but squeeze it more and it tends to lockup... weired... i tried other ns and its not there... weired

Last night, somebody stole away petrol from my bike and had also cut off the petrol supply pipe, from society parking. Bike got stalled on the way to office , and then i thought petrol may be over, though i was lil surprised as i wasnt expecting it to get over , towed it to petrol pump , and filled petrol, and then i realized that the pipe is cut when all the petrol leaked off. Then had to tow it to SVC and got it repaired. Had a tough time today.

check teh ODO, do not accept anything more than 15-20 kms. if possible ask them to show several bikes and choose the one you like. look closely for any scratches etc, try to rev the engine a little bit at standstill and check that there should not be any unneccessary vibrations from body panels. check oil level, its very imp. tell them to lubricate the chain. check coolant level.

brake bite gets reduced in rains, it smore prominent on NS than on any other bikes, the remedy is keep applying slight amount of brake at regular intervals if riding in rain, that generates some heat and helps to keep the brake relatively dry. another thing is if the brake is wet and not giving the desired bite apply the brake release completely and reapply. it helps little bit.

Yes brake fade is normal in rains but trust me some ns simply looses its brakes... i know what faffy was talking about...since i experience the same..... it simply wont stop from even 30kmph..... my brakes also fade dangerously when hauling down from high speed....extreme fading and looses 99% of the bite.... i have release the brake for a fraction for the rotor to cool down and then re-apply... then it would work like a charm for the next 2 seconds then fade away.... i have to repeat it again.... it really scares me during inter-state rides....

I lost my user manual so i cant tell you the full list of featutes but here are some for you... it has everything that other systems have.... plus a lot of extra bits... you can also use a 128bit encrypted password to lock your bike, the remote is fully waterPROOF... i had had a bath in the sea wih my remote in pocket..nothing happens... 1 year replacement warranty, 1 year roadside assistance, 1 year free service at home itself... they come to our home and fix up everything free of cost..the romote range is quite long.., all systems will die if the thief disconnects the battery, but this one will instead trigger an alarm if battery is touced... it has got a host of sensors fittef... tilt sensor, side stand sensor(it will beep if side stand is down while ignition is on), main stand sensor, battery compartment sensor... along with all other touch sensors... it has also got a small red led light which will start flashing once the system is armed and will keep flashing or years until you disarm it...and trust me, it does not drain the battery even by a small margin... my friends sre using if for years without battery drain...i have left my bike like that for 2 months when i was out.. nothing happened... the led light is something which you find in cars instrument cluster with a red light blinking...i have put that light inside my low fuel warning light in the console and it looks super classy.... the best part is NOT A SINGLE WIRE CUTTING NEEDED.... everything is plug and play...so it does not void warranty.. it also has a low battry warning signal..., an engine immobiliser.... you can even turn on only the immobiliser with the autoarm feature... autoarm will auomatically arm your system and immobilise the engine after 1 min of turning off the ignition if it does not recieve any remote command... you have to switch it on from the setings... u got a lot of tunes for the sirens so you can choose whichever you like, you can control the volume even... once the engine is immobilised by the system, if you turn on ignition, the red led will light on and chahe jitna bhi you try to start the bike, it wont... it will crank but wont start.... :-) hope his helps... btw there are lots of other featurs too write system overwrite and stuffs... and there are a lot of models for autocop.. buy the top end variant... with all the featues... :-)

rahul How much does the Autocop cost you?

And I have a few questions that are unrelated to each other. I'm switching to banglore (Currently in TN) in a few weeks from now and is it necessary to change to registration? In case if it is okay to just carry around a petrol bill from TN, how much months validity does that have? 2. How much does a steel braided brake like cost? 3. I'm constanly getting 32 kmpl in city riding and 35 kmpl in highway riding. Am i doing something wrong here?

The autocop costed me 1850... dont have tge top end model... the top end costs around 2250.... :-)
Rrgarding registration, if you are shifting for a long tine then legally you have to get your bike registered there...but as you know there are always loopholes.... afaik, you have to get a noc from your rto before you leave and can ride in another state for a year legally.... rest its upto you how good you can manage to run from cops... and regarding mileage, you are getting less.... it all depends on riding style and the nature of traffic you are riding on and the tuning and other timing adjustments of your bike... shift just below 4k and use te clutch as less as possible...infact dont use the clutch even when slowing down... just press it when the engine is about to stall... check proper air pressure, clean filter, clean plugs and lastly check the tuning.... if you are running on stock tuning then dont touch it coz the mech will else mess it up...

Went to the service centre and the mechanic said the carburettor float needle was damaged due to being clogged. the carburetor was pretty dirty. everything was fine but even after thorough cleaning, the float needle was not sitting correctly. so they will be replacing it but dont have the part in stock. so will have to wait a few days i think.

lol, yeah. can check all that too, it's 1lac that you're paying for the bike. lubricate chain ? mmm can't say about the 15-20kms part. A new factory dispatched NS should only read about 3-4Kms on ODO. that's the maximum you should tolerate.
But I must tell you guys that the bike I picked last year actually appeared to read 34kms on ODO. What happened that day is we went to the goddown and there were only three NS, 2 cherry black 1 red. I didn't want red, nor the Yellow one standing in Showroom. So out of the 2 Black NS, one was sold out and the other was ready for purchase. My color black. Only problem we encountered is that it's ODO showed us 34 Kms .. I was like.. Ok.... how am I supposed to pick a bike that reads 34 Kms !! people must've test ridden this particular bike so much and that's the only one left for me ? We were in the goddown, The showroom guy too couldn't spot it actually was reading 3.4 Kms, we realized that later on once he had taken the bike outside after all paper work had been done.
But in goddown he had his own funny explanation for why the ODO read 34 Kms. He said "Sir kya hai ki wheel ghoomta hai.. bike idle hai toh bhi andar ek wheel ghoomta hai... aur phir woh ghoomta rehta hai, usse Km badhta hai, aur.. jitna wheel ghoomega utna ODO chadega, blah blah. He had no idea what he was talking about. haha.. Later he was relieved and we laughed. So I had confirmed my NS which "appeared" to read 34 Kms cos I didn't wanna wait more, went with my heart and said to myself Ok it's a machine, It's gonna be alrighttt. xD

thanks man, that sounds so reliable and useful for NS. and pricing also seems reasonable. I'll inquire about this from the number given by pricesirohi & may be get it fitted soon.
