if it is not like this in your bike, you can get it adjusted. its quite easy.
I visited the service center today after I saw your post. The technician there told me that the new models of the NS have this problem sorted out(re-designed),and since mine is from the initial batches,
he says that they could replace my pedal with a new one (not free of course),as only the PLAY of the pedal can be adjusted, not the position of the pedal.

Could you please tell me if you own the NS from the recent batches?

Thank you.

yes my NS is just one month old. but your mechanic is bluffing, he doesn't know anything.

plz see the bikes in pics from launch event-- when P200NS was launched-->>

both have varying angles of brake pedals, the yellow one is more lower than red one. so this is not a problem of initial or latest batch. it is a quality control problem at bajaj.

when i purchased my bike, the left and right rear view mirrors were not in alignment, both were rotated at varying angles with one more backwards than other. poor quality control.

so... now u know....

and regarding, whether pedal can be adjusted or not, again that mechanic is fooling you. i have never seen such a bike whose brake lever can't be adjusted. see the pic below-->>

Last night, somebody stole away petrol from my bike and had also cut off the petrol supply pipe, from society parking. Bike got stalled on the way to office , and then i thought petrol may be over, though i was lil surprised as i wasnt expecting it to get over , towed it to petrol pump , and filled petrol, and then i realized that the pipe is cut when all the petrol leaked off. Then had to tow it to SVC and got it repaired. Had a tough time today.
thats too bad, i always thought that it is difficult l petrol from NS since the petrol pipe and carburetor is hidden behind chasis and there is too little space for theives to do something.

it seems theives have updated their knowledge.

What Are you sure? My bike has the same problem, its really a pain to keep the legs on the brake pedals all the time.
And I tried something like the one you have posted with a local mechanic, but when i did that, the brake play got increased and I had to press down a lot more to engage the brakes so I reverted back.

I am from the initial batches, same problem here too. Can you confirm that the new design that he says actually is different or not, so I could try changing mine during the next service.

Are u sure about this lowering the brake pedal thing? Coz when my mechanic tried to lower it down the brake was getting continuosly enegaged...

And yeah the petrol pipe is quite hidden behind chasis but not impossible for people to do that.

Anyways once again, has anyone installed any security alarms on their bikes?

see there are two ways to change the pedal position-->>

1) first is the method i described, which needs removing the pedal and refitting.

this above method needs the mechanic to do some labour, so they avoid it, instead what they do is second method -->

2) in the same photo, you can see a vertical linkage with a spring kind-of thing, that is also adjustable but to a smaller extent, it is much easier to adjust that one, so mechanics prefer it, however, it is not the correct way. that adjustment is to adjust the pedal play and not the pedal position.

so specifically tell your mechanic to remove the brake pedal and refit at desired position.

princesirohi: Thanks for those pics.Maybe the pedals look like they at different levels in both the pics because of the different angles that the pics are clicked.GOD KNOWS!
Any ways...if you adjust the pedal both the ways that you mentioned,it only increases the amount of play, tried it.The pedal gets loose.
It is all because of the pedal design.I will post the photo tomorrow regarding that. Its the stopper on the inner side of the pedal that is redesigned(Made thicker). The mechanic showed it to me.

ramdante: Will visit the service center soon and let you know.It seems to be existing only in the old models.
You don't need to buy a new pedal BTW,just add/weld a small plate (as a packing) to the stopper of the pedal which I mentioned above. I'll post the pic tomorrow showing the stopper.

And now its put to rest for a brief period due to my health in post-crash.

Mods:
247cc heart with bigger bore. (Clocked around 17k with the current setup)
Racing springs
Mobile Charger

Issues:
Electrical components kind of gave away after 35k. Had to replace the battery to Amaron.
The Digital meter displays significant issues. Have replaced them twice till now once due to short circuit and once due to mysterious reasons of the ODO going faulty.
Tyres changed once. Pirelli and then back to stock.
Chain Sprocket life never seems to increase beyond 22k in spite of lubing and cleaning it not so regularly.
Front shocks oil seal had broken once.
The crash guard's top screw breaks/falls off mysteriously no matter how much to take care of it.
The Rims seems stronger than it looks (While I had gone to buy the bike I was scared on seeing the rim. Had thought that it might break while doing a rough patch). 1 Change done after an accident.
Disk pads do give a decent life of more than 12k everytime. My current disk pads are still going well at 15k.
The chromium colored metal seems to wear off pretty fast.
Radiator works well and till now I have heard it running 6 or 7 times only. Its pretty unused I guess if you stick to the highways and do decent speeds.
Finally I have got used to the sounds made by the vibes.
The 3-piece handle's bolt do develop play's and its irritating most of the time when that happens.

Top end:
159 kmph on ODO - Done at Katraj Tunnel

Mileage:
46~52kmpl - Before the engine mod
30~35kmpl - After the engine mod

Longest ridden at a strech:
Mt.Abu - Mumbai
Saddlesore - Pune-B'lore-Pune
Pune - Nagpur

Analysis:
Bike is good. Wind blast is an issue while on long high speed rides. Riding Posture is good and it does not cause much of problems to the back or wrist. Sitting on the pillion seat might scary and yes its very painful for males to sit on the pillion seat (Hope you understand). Tank could had been a bit larger as it would be great for touring. Wish some fire parts become available for the NS and speaking of the same wish we could get a aftermarket fairing type of thing. It gets really tough to see the read and to ride at night in rains with the headlight (I am not sure if that's because of my visor).

4 months remain for the beast to become a year old. It seems that would go without any happening as I am bedridden now due to an unfortunate accident. Waiting patiently.
do u now have control and sense on ur total body????

Hello everyone..

I know I should ask the dealer about this, but can you guys give me an idea what's the minimum down payment required for the 200NS?

Actually I have a Ninja 250R (2012) but I'm looking for a 2nd bike for regular use around the city. I do not want to spend much cash at once but I can afford the EMI easily.

So if any of you guys can give me an idea of the minimum down payment required and the EMI it makes, it would be a big help. At least i'll be aware of what I require.

P.S - I will be checking with the dealers later (in a week or 2) when I go for the purchase.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

If you go with Bajaj Finance, its INR 36, 103 and 6325 x 12. That's what I got from a dealer, but there's no stock here in Hyderabad!

1. Yes, every bit has to be removed to access the bulb and the wiring for it.
2. Should be heated using a heat gun. Make sure the heat gun is used again while putting the glass back. There should be absolutely no air leak.
