    Anyways your bike...best wishes
Who told you there is no oil content in K&N ? Those are pre oiled filters, no need of oiling it often like others.

For your shock in our pulsar 200 Ns we have a paper type filter you just need to apply air pressure for cleaning it, if you Oil this your filter will be screwed up Anyways its your bike

Oil cleaning is used for sponge type filters.

My first service done today @ 750 kms on ODO.

      Changed oil and oil filter.

      Removed saree guard.

NS feels much more smooth now. Especially in 5th and 6th gear.

Yes even I found it very smooth after servicing
How much oil it took ? Did you find any metal pieces while draining oil ?

yes .. first of all we are not supposed to ride it with both hands off the handle ..not much of an issue .. needs proper alignment i guess ,,, 5 mins job ...

the pores in k&n are very big and hence it lets in more dust into the air intake .. it is slow poison for the engine ...

            16. I do face an issue with otherwise smooth gears. Somtimes while going up from 1st to 2nd, the gear is stuck at neutral or midway maybe. The green neutral indicator on console doesn't flash so i am not sure. But engine just revs up when accelerator is pulled but tires don't get any power. I have to try again for gear shift. Is this false neutral?? Also I want to to whether it is possible to go down from 2nd gear to neutral directly or have to go to 1st then neutral?? I am asking this as i find it difficult to get to neutral from second, it just goes past to 1st. Never rode 1st down type bike so i dont know this.
Overall I think its a very good package in its price, a complete VFM. I am really happy with it and proud of 200NS.
rust on engine casing is very bad ... i have seen it before only on rtrs before .. go to svc and report this issue .. they have to replace it , else the engine oil might start leaking ..

get the gear shifter spring adjusted or replaced to resolve mis-shifts ...

              • A first look at 200 ns

I just saw a couple of ns at the showroom (black & blue).
                1) They look much better in flesh.
                2) There's a premium feel unseen on bajaj bikes.
                3) The switchgear was less than impressive especially the indicator button. The push to cancel button is a novel idea just not implemented well.
                4) The bike is a lot smaller than what the pictures suggest. Think of duke as Amir Khan in 3 idiots and pulsar 200 ns as he appeared in Gajni.
                5) You really can mistake this bike for an import.
                6) Visually the rear hugger looks quite flimsy but if did'nt test it out, i was too busy ogling the rest of the bike.

Now for what i wanted to ask:

                1) What about good quality tyres for the ns? I'm planning (more like hoping) to get one before the year runs out. Michelin India doesn't have tyres in ns sizes. How much does the rear tyre of the r 15 v 2.0 cost? (they are the same size so fitting won't be a problem.) What about the front tyre? Are mrf ones (front tyre) available in the same compound?.

2)I live in Andaman where it rains 9 months out of 12. Add to that paths which barely qualify as roads (which are often covered with construction runoff) and people who are certain that traffic rules are a myth perpetuated by the government. The roads are mostly curves and steep inclines (read: needs good lowdown grunt) How does the ns fair in such conditions?

I know that some other bikes may better suit my situation, par mere pitajee (who for most part is anti-2wheeler) ka ispe dil aa gaya hai. And you don't look a gift horse (or pulsar) in the mouth.

Thanking you in advance for your replies.

Oh...and hello fellow xbhpians, I am Anirban and this is my first post (though i've followed xbhp for some time.)

1.2 liters. I mean they taken oil from a big can in a plastic jug like thing...
Yeah, I found metal particles floating. Too small

                  • RHS locking ?

Is there any way to lock the handlebars in the right hand side ?
I hate to lock it in the LHS, I'm not even used to lock any bike with the handlebars in LHS position...the bike looks so much better with the handlebars turned towards right side...please suggest.

brother...., k&n needs oiling is a known fact...but nobody cares to clean it even... Average life of a k&n is around 30k kms and it is required to oil k&n every 2500-5000 kms to keep it healthy... K&n cleaner and oil is available in the market.. Expecting k&n to last 1 lakh kms is like expecting bajaj dts-i 10000kms oil to last 10k kms... And if you are using k&n in your car without oiling then you are ruining your engine... And it doesn't matter wheather your bike comes with dry filter or wet filter... Oil is applied so that dirt can get stuck on the filter since oil is sticky and clean air gets inside the engine... But just make sure to dry out excessive oil coz it may go inside the carburator... k&n is a oil based filter... Its a misconception that k&n lasts lifetime without maintenance... I have even seen svc people and mechanics washing the k&n with pressure water jet along with the bike which ruins the filter... Still its your ride you can mod it at will...but dont forget to lube the filter and save it from water...

                            • New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS(Attention Please)

This to bring to your notice that I had Purchased the All New Pulsar 200NS from a West Delhi Dealer on 8th July 2012. But was shocked to see when my brother bought the bike (as I was unavailable to take the delivery) that such a Big & Old manufacturer has not provided very basic accessories & little aspects lacking in the bike.

It is a shame to see that huge cost cuttings have done by Bajaj Auto in its flagship bike costing 95k ORP Delhi all over.

I want that my bike, bikes sold till now, which are in transit & in assembly line to be equipped with these basics.

                              1. No Central Stand Provided in the bike. The Company cannot escape by saying that it is available as an extra accessory at a dealership. Pay extra Rs 500 or 600 & buy if you want.

                              2. Single horn provided instead of double horns in all bikes in its lineup & by all bike makers with bikes above 80 k.

                              3. Handle lock only on left & Not on Right Side. Such basic things missing.

                              4. Tyres Provided by bajaj of M/s Eurogrip lack Road Grip & vastly unstable. The Overdrive Show also recommends upgrading the current tyres as while cornering the tyres lack straight line & cornernering grip. The chassis is good but Tyres are lacking.

5 lack of spare parts. The Company should make the parts available just before the Model launch. Now, one has to wait for months to get these parts.

                              6. Small fuel tank of 12 liters fixed on chassis & Plastic over the Top. The Tank should at least 16-17 liters.

Will request your goodself to Publish this as Article , so that other customers are not fooled by the looks & the brand value of this bike. But even after paying almost a lakh of rupees , you get these basics missing.

                                Ownership:
                                Frankly speaking i don't really .....

                                1. So far kept the rpm below 4k. Max speed 55 in 6th gear. I generally tend to shift gears quickly. So haven't really tested how well the bike pulls from low speeds in high gears (and not intending to do till run-in is over) but the low end torque is still impressive to me. We have a significant gradient near my home, on which NS easily climbs in 3rd or 4th gear without going past 3-4k rpm (my passion can do it only in 1st or 2nd).

It has lot of power packed inside that mill... you will be surprised once you start extracting it...

                                2. Acceleration is awesome. In no time it touches 50 and I have to restrain myself from going further.

Thats the character of the NS.. you dont even notice what speeds you are doing....

                                3. I loved suspensions, they are quite good. They can negotiate big potholes, ugly speed breakers easily.

                                4. Haven't done much of leaning while turning till now but it does feel little heavier on front side. May be i won't feel that once i get used to it.

I begs you to lean more and more...

                                6. Do feel some heat on left leg. Till now I have mostly traveled in slow moving traffic so i think thats ok.

                                I havent yet noticed this....

                                7. The indicator switch is little uncomfortable to operate. And clutch pains my palms but this too i think will go as i get used to it. Other switches and console panel is good and easy to read, that yellow light irritates me though. Wish i could shut it off.

Ride for 400 kms.. you will get used to it... as I have got used to it now...

                                9. I did observe minute rust spots on engine casing in small corners. Is that OK?? I hope there wont be significant rust in long term.

Bring it to the notice of the SVC guys...

                                10. The rear mudguard is a turn off due to the mud sprinkling on the bottom of rear end. I have attached a mud-flap as done by @DNA and trying to patch a black polythene between the two split mudguards. The mud guards are good quality and firm though.

I guess the sprinkling is only when you are doing 60+ kmph, below that it is insignificant I guess.. may be others can confirm...

I guess this also is more of 'getting used to the bike'. And getting into 1st gear is advisable before you go to Neutral....
Good review mate... My comments in Bold....
