Yes that sometimes its there for me also very rare case. I hate to keep my bike idling at 1.3 or 1.5 it makes more noise.
When it takes 3 self to start then I use choke this happens occasionally to me.

Everyday I am following this procedure I start the bike & leave it for some 15 sec with idling then Ill raise the acceleration to 2 rpm for 5 sec then raise it till 3 rpm for 10 sec & then zooommmmm.
This is the procedure I used form past 8 years with my old pulsar & I swear never I had a starting trouble one self or one kick it used to start sometimes its two kicks. my choke in old pulsar was never used to work the cable becomes harder without using it & when we do force apply on choke cable used to cut or the fiber choke used to broke.

The choke changes the mix of fuel and air entering the motorcycle's engine by reducing airflow. The richer fuel mixture burns more easily in a cold engine .
AFAI opening the throttle a little is a better option than using the choke .Seniors can shed some more light

Well, this is my first bike Sometimes it takes 4 to 5 starts to idle without stalling. And it does make a lot of noise after a long ride when it idles at 1.6k RPM.

You may need to use it on cold seasons in the mornings.
when your bike wont start even if you have a enough fuel you may try this troubleshoot first.
It is used to regulate the air/fuel mixture during engine startup, makes the engine warm, makes the settled oil wake up inside the engine.

It is more important to start the bike & keep in idling in early mornings or if you have parked for a long time.

Both my dad and the showroom Guy told me not to use the choke unless its absolutely necessary. So, opening the throttle a little seemed like an easier option to me. Hope its the right way..

I dont think any showrooms in Hyderabad having registered bike with them(checked MGB and Siddi Vinayak).
but at least MGB have separate bike for TD (not registered).
I will be giving full payment tomorrow and delivery next day

I dont have any plan for mailing to CC for this issue right now

                • Tappet Sound in 200 NS

Hi fellow NS owners... have any one of your noticed tappet sound while riding ? i went on a trip recently and could notice a slight tappet sound especially when going up hill. went to service center and they said that i have to set it only at 5000 kms... also the acceleration on lower gears were taking a hit ....any suggestions? Thanks.

May be its because new battery also. how much Kms you have done ? wait till you reach 1500 Km on ODO. Yes 1.6 makes more noise.
Recently after 1st service the svc people have kept my Rpm to 1.3 & when I did around 20Kms in city limits it reached at 1.6 one of my friend commented why the engine has more noise ?

I haven't noticed yet avoid going on hills till you complete some 2000 kms & do not make your bike stressed.
Let the Tappet noise increases then take it to svc that's better.

that sounds kinda old ....thought it do have the auto choke facility.
Auto Choke, used to be complex, costlier. In NS, Bajaj has tried to be "keep it simple silly", no Auto Choke, no Self Cancelling indicators etc. BTW, I never required the choke even when cranking the bike at 18 degrees.

Your Car is FI, carbs have varying Idle RPMs. Should be used when the engine temperature is very low( say lower than 15-16 degrees).

Thanks bro... won't waiting for the tappet sound to increase hurt the engine? also could anyone highlight on why the tappet sound increases?

after 900 kms... the mileage is somewhere around 44 -47 (approx).. best ride quality so far is when traveling between 4000+ rpms... the sound gets addictive after that...shocks are wonderful... saved me good couple of times when unmarked humps were present.so far so good except for the random oil sensor pop ups and tappet sound..hope things gets settled soon...
