I live in South East Delhi, bought my NS from Deewan Auto, Lajpat Nagar. I have so far clocked 585 km. Where should I go for my first service?

Here's a few things that I want to be rectified.

    1. Always on Side Stand Indicator(Something wrong with the sensor spring)
    2. Engine turning off on its own when on idle in morning.(Idle rpm 1.1k)
    3. Throttle is a little free for the first 1-2 cms.
    4. LH side mirror has gone free on its pivot (might have bumped slightly)

Also should I tell the SVC guy to put mineral oil instead of what they normally put in

Go to Dewan Bajaj Service in Okhla.

It is a huge service centre and they service the NS in a seperate section.

They give preferential treatment to NS owners.

Recommended Engine Oul is Bajaj 20W50 but you can use better engine oil also.
Ask the SVC at Dewan. They usually stock better engine oils also.

its the owner... He had a 180 earlier and a 150 before that and a customer of that mechanic for a long long time...so they are just like friends... Got a proper test ride...

WOW, Looks like an Angel came to fulfil ur dream Test Ride....

Last night One of my friend suggested that a properly run-in NS will have the ability to completely satisfy the rider. Now this proves that he was 100% correct.

Cutting through traffic is fun and locking the rear wheel and drifting into gaps is so much easy thanks to the ultra sharp rear brake and poor tyres. - I would love to see this, but not as a pillion, but standing on other side of the road.

PS - While u will be buying the NS, also buy some extra protection/padding for ur b@!!$

Ha Ha Ha.. But yeah, the handles can be adjusted to compensate for the left pull, but it's not required actually, that left pull doesn't affect the bike anyway.

Either change the oil once now, and again at 1st service, or just at the service. SVC intervals are perfectly, fine, you won't face any problems at all. You can ofcourse go for a paid service whenever you need.

Glad, you got a bike to rip. The sound and power of NS is best post 7K RPM. Also, unlike Duke the Carb of NS has to be properly tuned for that punch, which I just realized after tuning it myself.

Yesterday is the end of my wait to get my own 200ns from swadeshi bajaj rajouri garden show room.

As this is my first 200cc bike so I just want to know few things like

1 Whats the ideal speed for running period of bike.
2 At what speed with which gear.
3 whats the RPM if we start the bike first time in morning

I well be very thankfull if some help me in this.
if you are following manual run-in.. stick to 48.. but.. I will tell you what I did..

stick to maximum of 5k RPM till 500kms.. that will come around 55-60 kmph in 6th gear.. because babying the bike for 2k kms will spoil it post running in.. so.. a big no no..

stick to your natural driving style.. just don`t rip it.. don`t cross 6k RPM till 1000 kms.. accelerate in short bursts.. and in a gentleman-ish way (atleast initially!)..

so, sum it up.. stick to less than 5k RPM till 500kms.. accelerate in short bursts.. don`t ride for very long stretches (more than 40kms).. @seniors: please correct me if I missed out anything or said anything wrong!

my bumblebee when started early morning idles at 1.2k RPM.. after a little running sticks to 1.5k RPM.. but doesn`t cross 1.7k RPM even after a traffic stuck road drive and a pretty hot climate here in Chennai..!!

Engine is really super smooth...rightly mentioned Bajaj needs to do a lot more in the Chassis and suspension part...actually you go with not so big hope of performance like Duke or some other 250cc you will be amazed....else you won't...

                • It was a sudden oppurtunity... how can i refuse... Its totally opposite to the test ride bike...and at 800kms with first service done, the engine was makkhan.... Best part was between 8k to 10k...rpm... Now i know what others meant by linear power... It just blew me away...
Another thing i noticed is how light the rear end of the bike is.. I was able to steer the bike with my @$$...its so light...
@Shibadip: you will get it soon...dont worry...
@toxicbiker: got lucky all of a sudden and yeah i need to take care of that thingy..you know what
                  @govind: thank you
@rahuldevnath: true the bike just turns mad afte 8k... The exhaust sound is very different and everyone was just staring what went past.... but found some false shifts...maybe it will become better slowly...

                  • Guys did my first service with Auto service with Motul engine Oil.

Noticed :for cleaning the air filter, tank should be removed first
If available will change the airfilter to K&N performance kit in next service, so that its maintenance free for thousands of Kms ( as am using in my car no need of cleaning this till 1 lakh Kms)
Engine oil required is 1.4 Lts when we poured 1.2 Lts it dint show up in the oil level.

Removed rear number plate light & the reflector it looks pretty decent now.
Bought front mud flaps of 220 will fix this soon on mine.
Anyone driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

k&n needs more maintenance than foam type stock filter... You have to clean and oil it every 2500 kms for proper filtrtration else it will be equal to having no filter... Dont go for k&n if you do, then please clean and oil it..

Dude am using K&N in my car from past 4 years. its a ZERO maintenance till 1 Lakh Kms. After 1 lakh Km you need to spray with Air Filter Cleaner, which can run another 1 lakh kms

Oils cleaning is done for the normal air filters not for K&Ns.

Lasts up to 50,000 miles before cleaning is required depending on driving conditions

                            • Dear xBHPians,

After a lot of research, reading, test riding etc, i finally decided to get NS as my first bike and i booked it and got delivery on 16th August from Sai Services, Balgandharva, Pune. Here is my experience so far of this awesome bike.

                              Disclaimer:
Following are my own opinions, and i do not claim to be an expert biker so some of them might be childish.

                              At first:

I was looking for a bike since May this year, and till then Unicorn had been my favorite in 150 segment (obviously i didn't know much about bike till then). I wanted to buy RE TBTS, there was a little too much waiting and i honestly thought that I do not have enough experience of biking and also RE still gotta get better (its gonna be my next bike for sure..). And then i came across 200NS. "Wow" is what my first feeling. It was love at first sight. A premium product from Bajaj. I had doubts about quality of bajaj but also knew that Bajaj has come a long way since 2000. And the specs of NS were mind blowing. But i waited all this time just to see how good the bike is in reality and whether owners are feeling its VFM or not. After following this thread since its start (and others like Duke vs NS ) I got convinced that its indeed VFM and Bajaj has indeed matured a lot.

                              First Impression:
I took TD on my friends' bike. But unfortunately his bike was driven not so carefully for 200KM long journey immediately after purchase and so it wasn;t smooth at all. But still otherwise the bike impressed me a lot.

                              Booking:
I booked bike on 6th Aug on Rs-500, paid rest of the amount on 8th Aug by check and as the check was cased on ame day the dealer (Sai Services, Balgandharva, Pune) got my bike registered on 9th only. But as i was out of station till 15th I had to take delivery on 16th. On the day of delivery i couldn't even work in the office and my heart was beating so hard till in the evening i got the bike. Was never so excited fir anything before. Taking delivery was 10min business. No explaining, nothing. They gave me receipt and i tool bike and off i went. Anyway I knew all essential things from xBHP so i was least bothered.

                              Ownership:
Frankly speaking i don't really know what to expect from a bike like this as the only bike i rode properly before is HH Passion Pro (you can imagine how amateurish i am.) Till date i have only rode about 60km, but from this week will be taking the bike to office daily (40km total daily). This is my impression till now:

                              1. So far kept the rpm below 4k. Max speed 55 in 6th gear. I generally tend to shift gears quickly. So haven't really tested how well the bike pulls from low speeds in high gears (and not intending to do till run-in is over) but the low end torque is still impressive to me. We have a significant gradient near my home, on which NS easily climbs in 3rd or 4th gear without going past 3-4k rpm (my passion can do it only in 1st or 2nd).

                              2. Acceleration is awesome. In no time it touches 50 and I have to restrain myself from going further.

                              3. I loved suspensions, they are quite good. They can negotiate big potholes, ugly speed breakers easily.

                              4. Haven't done much of leaning while turning till now but it does feel little heavier on front side. May be i won't feel that once i get used to it.

                              5. Seats are quite comfortable, seating posture upright but at the same time no pressure on wrists. I felt some vibrations at footrest, also pillion seat has some vibrations but its not 'significant and irritating'. I think they will go after 1st service. Also some noise from front tire, probably disc breaks. Will get it rectified in 1st service.

                              6. Do feel some heat on left leg. Till now I have mostly traveled in slow moving traffic so i think thats ok.

                              7. The indicator switch is little uncomfortable to operate. And clutch pains my palms but this too i think will go as i get used to it. Other switches and console panel is good and easy to read, that yellow light irritates me though. Wish i could shut it off.

                              8. The plastic components is little 'not so premium' feel. But i guess its also an advantage when you need to change it as i am expecting that they would cost quite less. I hate the 'non-metal' PULSAR logo though. A metal logo would have been great.

                              9. I did observe minute rust spots on engine casing in small corners. Is that OK?? I hope there wont be significant rust in long term.

                              10. The rear mudguard is a turn off due to the mud sprinkling on the bottom of rear end. I have attached a mud-flap as done by @DNA and trying to patch a black polythene between the two split mudguards. The mud guards are good quality and firm though.

                              11. Can't say much on tires as haven't done any significant riding so far.

                              12. The bike is bulky while pushing it around (and my height 167cm makes it even difficult, but still manageable ). But while running its effortless handling. I liked the overall handling. One con is its turning radius, its little more than what it should have been. I think a guy with 5'6" and above can handle it well.

                              13. Head lights are quite adequate for night riding. Its throw on high beam is also very good i feel.

                              14. Horns are pathetic, its like a macho man has girlish voice..LOL . Will check with SVC if they can change it to some better horns (those of p220 may be).

                              15. Road presence is awesome. Even in Pune (after almost 2 months since launch) people still are very curious about the bike. Everywhere people look at it, ask about it. It feels good. Some kiddus in our society also liked it very much.

                              16. I do face an issue with otherwise smooth gears. Somtimes while going up from 1st to 2nd, the gear is stuck at neutral or midway maybe. The green neutral indicator on console doesn't flash so i am not sure. But engine just revs up when accelerator is pulled but tires don't get any power. I have to try again for gear shift. Is this false neutral?? Also I want to to whether it is possible to go down from 2nd gear to neutral directly or have to go to 1st then neutral?? I am asking this as i find it difficult to get to neutral from second, it just goes past to 1st. Never rode 1st down type bike so i dont know this.
Overall I think its a very good package in its price, a complete VFM. I am really happy with it and proud of 200NS.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...
