I just quoted rate per liter. Don't worry, I bought 2 bottles only. Poured by checking oil level. Rest oil is with me still. Will use for next time.

thanks bro. he said the alignment is all fine but some part can't recollect the name has moved away or something whick stops the movement of handle after the set limit so he says that should be welded. going to the svc now will be there In an hour will let you know what they say. thanks for your reply hope I am not bugging you, I just want the issue to be resolved . the beast is my first bike and holds special sentimental value.Originally posted by banerjee View PostWelding is done to join to broken parts, whereas in your case handle is intact but lost its alignment, what they might mean is that they will heat it up, and look to realign your handle approximately, that's not a bad idea if you are looking to save some money, minor issue.. everything will be fine.. I will try to gather information on the availability of headlight assembly separately and will intimate you at night.

At the service centre now ( to check the cause of engine harshness) and the manager is not allowing me to even stand beside my bike while they are working on it!! He is saying that bajaj rules don't allow me to go near it! I know that many of you went to observe what the mechanics are doing so this is ridiculous! What should I do?? I think this is going to be the case in the next services as well..!sigpic

bang on... You got it right mate... That rpm drop should be because of oil change since the oil flows better when engine is cold and at low revs... How is cold starting now? It should be better... And i think it was a typo on your post... It will be 15w50... In summer, always use xw50...since engine becomes hot... In winter, if you stay in a cool place, then you can easily use xw40 grade which will make the engine more free revving, will increase mileage and better oil flow... But dont do it in summer.. I always used 10w30 oil in my bike in winter which had a requirement of 20w40...Originally posted by nilesh14587 View Posthey Rahul,
I changed to Motul 3000 15w20 yesterday and the idling rpm now dropped down to 1000 from 1300. Also when engine is hot it idles at 1500 instead of 1800. Is this due to the thinness of this oil (VI15 instead of VI20)?? The AFR screw is not touched at all. Also I read somewhere that using thinner oils (10W30 for 10W40 etc) increase the FE in Asian climates (generally hot). It it so??
Also correct me if I am wrong, esters have detergent properties (ie washing away deposited carbon/hydrocarbon sludge), so di-esters should have better detergent properties that single esters and thus would keep engine cleaner.
In 20w40 bike never started in the winter mornings and even after heating up enough, endine didn't reved as freely as in summer...
Then tried petronas sprinta 10w40... Surprisingly bike started in just one crank of the self starter but still free reving...but better than 20w40
Then tried 10w30.. Start in first crank, smoother, rev friendly and increased mileage...
its not possible to quote different grades for diffrent climates by manufacturers...thats why they follow a single grade... You cant exploit full potential of your ride unless you start experimenting.... And what you heard about esters and di-esters are very much true...

Call the customer care of BAL right in front of them to ask about any such rule. The ph number is 1800 233 2453.Originally posted by sagar_phoenix View PostAt the service centre now ( to check the cause of engine harshness) and the manager is not allowing me to even stand beside my bike while they are working on it!! @Rahulbarik
Today in the morning, it was idling @1000rpm was shutting off after few seconds. Did this 3 times. Finally opened throttle a little to keep it on. I guess a little tweak to AFR screw should make it work fine. Like setting idling to 1100 may be. 100o is too low i guess. At sub-3000 rpms the engine is rev free almost.
PS: Sorry for the type. Its 15W50 only.Last edited by nilesh14587; 08-28-2012, 05:39 PM.Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--

simple...threaten them...! Blast them that either they allow you to stay with your bike or you are taking your ride to a different svc where they are allowing you to stay... The problem is that this is the main service centre here and the other one is a smaller oneOriginally posted by Rahulbarik View Postsimple...threaten them...! Bajaj's Probiking, officially has the concept, where the customers are allowed to check the bike, while its being serviced. However, this applies to only PBKs. But on the same not, 200NS is supposedly comes under Probiking Servicing (though the Probiking has been dropped).Originally posted by sagar_phoenix View PostAt the service centre now ( to check the cause of engine harshness) and the manager is not allowing me to even stand beside my bike while they are working on it!!
