+1 Just get to know the mechs and you need to be careful. And more over you shouldnt nag them no body likes to work when some one is watching over them all the time.
Now, just came here to ask if any one is facing over heating issues due to 3 spark plugs ?

i still didn't get it... When you want to increase the height, you have to make the suspension stiff...setting it on the highest point.... Whenever you lower the suspension, height will decrease and ride will become soft... Check again rahul da... I am 100% sure.... No way will a soft setting increase height....Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostAs far as I know, the suspension on the hardest setting is shortest, (the suspension is compressed) and on the softest setting it's longest (increase in height). I verified it as well, when did set my bike to softest setting. Nothing much but it does slightly increase the height especially for the pillion.
DC bike also, will see a drop in RPM. The bulb, puts pressure on the battery, the current drops at the terminals. Though it should not be more than 100 RPM max.
BTW here's the AFR screw pic, sorry for the delay.
If you are going to tinker with it, just do a half turn and check the results.

Hi AndyOriginally posted by andypierre View PostHi bro,
i am new here.. i am from Indonesia that using Pulsar for 5 years and wait his baby monster come to Indonesia. Cant wait too long
I have some questions,
1. i read this topic from page one but i cant find how compresion ratio this engine bro??
2. in general, what are the main issues to be shortage of Pulsar 200NS??
3. any issues from Pulsar 200 SS??
thanks for the feedback
Regards

https://www.facebook.com/Pulsar200NSIndonesia
As per the User Manual it says the Compression Ratio is 11:1
Your second question is a bit confusing as there's no shortage of the Pulsar 200NS
There aren't any issues with the bike as such and no clue as yet about the 200SS

@RahulDevnath _ Thanks for the Pic. It wud have been difficult to find without the pic.Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Posti still didn't get it... Abt the suspension, I think Rahul (barik) is right.
Attaching a Pic. I think it is in the 2nd softest setting, and turning it clockwise, will set it to hardest setting, and there-by increasing the saddle height.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

Rahul I think @Rahuldevnath is right ,whenever you lower the suspension the spring will have lesser compression ratio to absorb the shock which will make the ride harder ,similarly when you raise the suspension the spring will have more room to compress which will absorb more shock making the ride softer for the rider . this is AFAIK .Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Posti still didn't get it... Blue one looks good.
Really thankyou broda.Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostBTW here's the AFR screw pic, sorry for the delay.

My screw seems like a bit turned in to anti-clock wise... So leaner nah? Can I adjust to clock wise a little? Your looks like in middle.

After all its you bike!!!!Originally posted by sagar_phoenix View PostAt the service centre now ( to check the cause of engine harshness) and the manager is not allowing me to even stand beside my bike while they are working on it!! I think this is going to be the case in the next services as well..!

my coupon for first free service is used up at 334 kms itself..
How can they do that???
coolOriginally posted by Vineet_200 View PostKhivraj Whitefield ,they took 25 days for delivery that too after I sent an email to CC on 19th .The wait was worth it though in last two days have been stopped and enquired about the bike atleast 10 times

Mileage...
Guys,i have been testing for mileage using tankful to tankful method, already had little petrol when i did tankful last time, since then travelled 418.5 kms, and today again did tankful at the same petrol pump , here are the details:
Fuel used : Shell, unleaded, normal
kms ridden : 418.5 kms
Fuel filled again : 10.16 ltrs
Mileage = 418.5 / 10.16 = 41.2 kmpl ( rounded off)
p.s : i have NOT babied the bike all this while, have been reving it quite hard in all gears.... my avg speed has been around 60-65kmph , hit mid 80-90's quite a no of times and 100-105 once a while ( dint go above this )..... so considering this, mileage is pretty good and i am all

Hello friends,
A query. The area were i live has a lot of potholes, bad roads, clogged water etc. etc. especially when it rains. On these roads i cannot ride at speeds more than 15 km. Hence usually i ride either on the 1st or 2nd gear. Now this kind of road stretches to almost 1.5 kms till i reach the highway. Hence wanted to know if riding on 1 or 2nd gear for long has any problem for the engine / gear.
Also i normally shift gears between 4-5k RPM and ride between these RPMs only at all gears. Hope this is ok during run-in period. though sometimes i have to rev harder (till 6k rpm) in order to overtake. have taken my bike to almost 85km at times not more than 15-20 secs.
Hope all this does not hamper the engine.

how quick are your gear shifts? how much on ODO? Have you been riding this way from the begining and do you feel any difference in performance using this method of riding?

@Shibadip: In the attached pic, the suspension is on the second "softest" setting, and not the hardest. Turning the lower part clock wise, will get the suspension notch to last "softest" setting.
Vineet is spot on. Think it in a different way. I understand that you are looking at the notches, and as you increase the softness, there's more space left. But don't forget that the whole suspension setup is one piece. So what basically we can do, is to either compress (hard) or de-compress (soft) the spring preloads. Now, when we compress it, the total travel for the suspension is less, hence, harder suspension at lesser height.
Actually, take look at the older Pulsar twin shocks. It's more prominent on them.
So, when we have more travel for the springs, the suspension becomes softer, and act like a pogo stick, which is undesirable while cornering and negatively affects the handling. When there's less travel for springs, the suspension is stiff and the bike remains plated while cornering.
It's actually not that way.Originally posted by J K View Post@Kris Menon, congrats..

every bike will have different number of turns. So, you can't make out from the pic how many turns the screw has already gone, it can be any position.
For the rule of thumb, it's always better to have slightly Richer mixture. So, if you are getting a very good mileage, anything about 48 is really good, you are most probably running a leaner mixture.
It's not easy to perfectly tune a carb, it's part science and part art. People can listen to engine sound and make out it's tuning.
So, what a newbie should do?
Start with turning the screw clockwise half round. Check the results, mileage etc.Last edited by rahuldevnath; 08-29-2012, 02:03 PM.Been There, Done That; Better!
