      Nope.
Changing the oil very often is sort of an overkill. But it won't do any harm when you do it at the first service.I've done 230km so far & I've neither changed the oil not the oil filter , the bike is doing fine.I'm gonna change it @ the first service as specified in the manual.

                1) Take your bike to SVC and Compare your bike with another bike to see the difference in smoothness.

2)Which OIL was previously used while taking the bike delivery...

3)Was the OIL changed in your presence or did you leave the bike at SVC. Check if they have changed the OIL.

4)Change the OIL to some other branded OIL and not DTSi OIL.

OIL is the culprit most probably and not a mechanical issue since most of the guys complain about the smoothness lost once the first service was done...

Seniors yours advise on the above needed...Correct me if iam wrong...

                Regards,
                Sree
NEVER EVER ALLOW SVC to change engine oil in your absence. Buy engine oil from reliable source and ask SVC to change engine oil in your presence. It has been reported in the local media that recycled engine oil is used by the showrooms/service centres, which naturally kills the engine. I always got engine oil changed in my presence (for last 30 years and 5 bikes) and never faced break down and major repairs. REMEMBER OIL IS LIFE BLOOD OF THE ENGINE.

Water filling issue in the inner rim/socket of the tank was there in my P150. I wish that bajaj had corrected this issue on the next-gen, but alas.
Whenever your bike is exposed to rain/water, better open the cap and remove water with dust cloth from the inner rim. Else when your bike is parked on side stand the water will get mixed in the petrol and you may face start up problem or miss a beat while running. No doubt the tank cap looks pretty good, but function wise it fails as it can be opened with any other key apart from being not water proof. BAJAJ should have address this defect.

                    • Removed the tyre hugger + saree guard today.
The bike is looking much better & a lot meaner than before.

                      Approximate weight reduction =

                      Saree guard : 400 grams
                      Tyre Hugger : 900 grams

In rainy seoson I look to park it under a shade but if I don't find any then I spend my time thinking that if it rains then my engine will be flooded(I seldom use it during rains).
I hope banerjee, that my bike does not suffer too... Reading other posts I'm inclined to believe that the bike does have a drain hole to keep the water at bay (from the petrol)... need to check the drain hole..

@sandy and @sumit - This time I have thought of placing a Sponge on the inner rim/socket of the tank, so that it can absorb the excess water. .....
Negative Shibadip, I wouldn't suggest you to keep any flammable material anywhere near the petrol... You can never say when/if the sponge might provide you with fireworks...

and niiiice pics, bro.. Loved the lighting conditions and the color, not to mention the bike itself.. Good going.

Just to clarify this is just a query at the moment and i dont intend to go on a tour right now. it will be done only post 2000 km or may be more. Till then there will be short trips within and around delhi only.
One can tour all day long in between 100-115KMPH!

One more thing- My max speed? Touched a whopping 156KMPH on Speedo!!
Not on straight road though, but on slope, the speedo displayed 156, maintained for about 4 seconds rev limiter kicked in, before coming down to a 150KMPH sustainable speed. And yes the OVER REV light did flash violently in 6th gear. I'm trying to make a video, let's see if I can repeat it again!

My bike is 2200Kms old, and then engine is absolutely rev free.

It works fine. Just needs to be cleaned once in a while.

Does it worth the money spend? If the chain and sprockets cost just a few hundreds more than that of the cleaner + lube put together?

you don't want those metal shavings to float on your oil upto 1000 km,do you?
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                                #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
