    Hi Alby,

Even i have same problem while turning right. For me too turning left is easy and i do it effortlessly but when it comes to turning right i take some time. This habit became worse with riding my old bike (CBZ) for 8 yrs. though it was my first bike. But with the NS turning in any direction is comfortable and you feel very confident due to frame and handling. Turning right can be made more easy and comfortable with practise, just start slowly go on to some empty road which has a lot turns and less traffic or start early in the morning.

"overweight friends sit as pillion" cannot help there. just ask them to be still or if they don't just pull the throttle on the first gear so that they come to there senses

    About NS's handling and balance
I'm 5'4. The NS's seat height is lil higher than the CBZ. On the CBZ i could plant half of my feet but on the NS only my toes can touch the ground slightly slanting to either side can help in balancing the bike better.

The CBZ required a lot of balancing but in the case of NS it is the opposite. The bike balances itself. All the weight is just centered hence no matter where you turn or at speed you are it just comes back to the center and stays straight.

On the CBZ when i used to ride at a speed less than 15 km i had to do a lot of work with the handle balancing it. But in case of NS even if you are 5km it just moves forward without any effort from our part in balancing it.

yeah as nilesh said go for motul 3000 if you cant find 3100... Dts-i might be semi-synthetic, but its crappier than the most crappiest mineral oil... Still to motul 3000..its the best mineral oil available in the market...its a highly refined oil... 3100 is semi-synthetic and if you want semi-synthetic then opt for motul 5100...which is 15w50... I hear a lot of ns giving cold start issues...changing the oil to 15w50 from 20w50 with give easier cold starts... And motul 3100 is plain semi-synthetic and 5100 is semi-synthetic with single ester... Esters are some kind of charged molecules which sticks to the engine even if its not running, giving it improved protection and easier cold starts...choose accordingly... Hope it helps..

You can stick to DTSi for now.. and switch to Motul Semi Synthetic Later.. don`t go for any grade below 20w50..!!
Like KTM workshops do bajaj workshops also keep an option for the Motul 7100 oil? or is it just DTSi-10000 only. Any idea what grade oil is the DTSi and is it used for all bajaj models or is there any specific oil for the NS.

          Hello Govind,

Well, I also have same issue. I have switched to motul 3000 4t 15W50, and bike has indeed become smooth but not as smooth as it used to be. But as a matter of fact the stock DTSi oil was also as clean as new oil. The oil shop guy was asking why am I changing oil at all when its so clean.

I did a lot of research on oils before deciding upon what oil to use in my own NS. And I have seen many senior members here in xBHP recommend mineral oil on new bike and then SS after say 2-3k km and after 5k km or so ODO one can switch to FS oil. Mineral oil helps in proper run-in to happen. (AFAIK SS is mostly mineral oil + rest synthetic. The ratio I read on wiki is 70:30 (wiki), but haven't confirmed from other sources yet.) Also one can go for any xW50 grade oil for 20W50 recommended bike (x depends on what cold-start temperature one generally encounters). So 15w50 is just fine.Of coarse 20w50 is most appropriate, but I didn't find it so used 15w50.

On top of this, the SVC guy told me that this much roughness in engine is OK for Bajaj bike (He even claimed it happens in all Bajaj bikes, that i doubt though). It will be smooth after 1st service. Even if he doesn't change oil right now and get 1st service done @500km it wont hurt the engine, this is what I confirmed from the SVC guy. But of coarse no harm at all in oil change.

dada.. are you sure?.. Is DTSi that bad??
I will be running into first service by weekend.. so.. should I switch to mineral or go for Semi synthetic Motul, if available??

So how to plan to shift to mineral oil. Will you be taking your own brand or bajaj workshops have there own mineral oil?

Is it possible to take our own oil? I always thought that this is not allowed. Do clarify. If yes then i will also be doing it hopefully by the first week of September when i should cross 500 km

Mineral oil is coarser than the SS oils, and thus it helps in proper setting of the engine during the run-in. Mineral oil upto 1st 1-1.5k kms is good for the engine. Having said that running the bike with SS oil in it's initial kms won't do any harm. However one should not use FS oil during this period.

I agree with what @nilesh suggested, but I have a one little doubt.
I know warranty doesn't get void on switching to any brand other than the recommended brand of oil by the manufacture provided its the same grade (xWyy). So will changing the x part make the warranty void??

                          Hey Govind,

Bajaj recommends DTSi oil only and if it is not filled according to given schedule or used some other oil, then the warranty voids. So if we go for other oil and later some problem pops up in the engine, Bajaj may say that the warranty is void. But DTSi oil is not that good. No one trusts svc guys either. So whats the way out from this??

Can the people who have done servicing can tell us whether they have any solution to this problem?? Whether any svc allowed any oil other than DTSi during servicing without and issue?? That is using better oil than DTSi without jeopardizing the warranty??

One solution I can think of it, Use whatever oil you like, but change to DTSi during servicing, so that on records you would have used only DTSi oil. Some time after servicing switch back to your own oil. So my plan is something like this (only for explanation purpose):
                          motul 3000 @350km (changed already)
                          DTSi 10000 @700km (during 1st service)
                          motul 3000 @1500km
DTSi 10000 @5000km (during 2nd service) (This is only top up i think so we can avoid this by keeping oil level full while giving for service)
                          motul 5100 @6500km
DTSi 10000 @10000km (during last service)
motul 300v @ 11500km (continue with this after that)

Still thinking over this plan. Please suggest any other better way on this.

I will be changing my bike's oil to Mineral after first 100-150 kms, and then will again change at the 1st service.

@sunilyo - You can take any oil with you and ask the SVC guys to change the oil to that. But make sure they do it in front of u.
