Guys i would like to pose one question, whenever i see Fazer on the road it reminds me whether bajaj would also come up with the Full fairing one in the future(should be within one year)??
Well friend, 1st of all Fazrd is not a Full-faired bike. It's half faired.
And in case you havent heard, Bajaj is all set to launch a faired version of the NS sometime next year, code named SS(super sports)

I need a help!! I don't know how to set the clock of my bike! Did try it using Owner's manual.....but,nothing seems to happen even when i push the mode and set buttons together!! the Owners manual says the clock digits will blink! I dint see any blinking digits! the ":" is blinking though
Try pushing both the buttons for 5 secs or more.
If still not, then take it to the dealer, and ask him for a Full Demo....
Oh, be prepared to see the dealer fiddling with ur bike

It's been exactly 24 hours since I got my baby home and it's already run 120 kms. Now I'm inexperienced in the field of motorcycling and this is my first bike. (I guess here I shouldn't be ashamed to confess I was a scooty guy before ) Anyway, I was adviced not to cross 4k rpm till the engine has run in. Now I can accept that. But how will I know if the engine has run in or not? I can't just start riding differently after say 1000 kms assuming the engine's matured now can I? As such there are many more doubts but lets clarify this one first. Can someone help me?

And is it okay if the rear disk squeaks once in a while (when I have NOT applied brakes that is ) ?
As per bajaj 2000Kms is the run-in period. However, It is not advisable to ripp the bike right after the run-in is over..
After the initilal 300-500kms, try running the bike in a normal way, with combination of short brusts, and varying the rpm.
just keep in mind NEVER to redline the engine, or to lag the engine. And as u go on doing more kms, and strengthen ur bond/connection with ur bike, you yourself will get the idea when the bike is ready to deliver it's full potential.
        Keep riding, and ride safe...

@Rahuldevnath - Super job..I like how u keep urself busy with the bike.

        • Whew ...two days and a lot of updates on the thread..just finished my trip and run in odo at 2098 now. Engine was quite responsive and was giving me consistent mileage of 40-42 kmpl. Brakes saved me couple of time during my 1000+ ride. Tyres held when I under steered and went on to road side gravel. And once it snaked on harsh breaking...luckily reached home safe and sound ..and oh yeah... All credits to the shocks....worked excellent ...

Engine is sounding rough now, gear shits a little hard sometimes. Probably time for an engine oil change....

@rahuldevnath and Satyen : there is definitely a loose nut kind of sound from the engine .especially around 4500 -5000 rpm....it's getting more prominent now....not sure if that is the tappet or not..but definitely an unwelcome sound ....I had the same sound in my first bajaj bike..wind 125...the service engineers couldn't place the reason for it...hence am very concerned about it .

The oil indicator still blinks randomly , even after they had replaced it....

          • 1st Service

Got my first service done at 647kms. She feels better but i feel there is touch more vibration. Probably riding it a little harder.
            Work done at service:
            1. Oil & oil filter change.
            2. Air filter cleaned
            3. Tappets adjusted
            4. AFR adjusted(was running lean)
            5. Both disc pads sanded down a little. Brakes drag a little less
            6. Front disc hose changed to SS braided from the P220. Worth the money.
Overall exerience so far has been a very enjoyable one

yeah , even my bike starts to vibrate a bit after extensive gear changes & in stop & start traffic...try changing the engine oil , this might be provide a smoother ride...

duke too has a engine cowl r8??duke is a naked sports bike too.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                    #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

The hose was around Rs1100/- and the SVC guy did not charge me for swapping the lines (that was a experience)

Still with me. Guess was playing it safe. Beware the mechanic would first tell you that the braided hose is a touch short. but it does not make a difference.

First of all , its OT...
And you are not supposed to "drill" holes into the helmet...the manufacturer clearly states not to modify the helmet in any kind...
Also get a full face helmet instead as it proves much more protection...if you are spending almost a lakh on a bike don't hesitate to invest 4-5% of it on a decent helmet...
