Most of the problems remain un-rectified because of poor service centre treatment, this has to improve.
Yes. You are absolutely right......
Your bike is a part of you....

Thats because majority of the people post here only to get glitches solved.

And anyway, this isn't Bajaj's premium bike. Bajaj's premium bikes are the Dukes.

PS: I think the weakest link in Bajaj is their poor service centers. Absolutely useless for Pulsars and Dukes. I think the quality of build is almost at par with the Japanese bikes, but what sustains Japanese bikes are their good service quality. Ironically, Bajaj mechanics are the ones who spoil our bikes if we aren't careful.

guys my ns produces noise from rear disc brake and front also and i am felling that some thing is holding the engine it back in the lower rpm and in all gears...... i am strict to the run-in period but i am not able to hold it under 50kmph speed ....i have completed 450km under 50kmph speed after first service i take it to 126kmph speed after this bike feels smooth than before....once only 98 % riding should be in the 50-55kmph speed .. i have covered about 700km till date and i am also faced cold start problem ..

Blame it on the bajaj svc. I think the svc guys does not like NS. 1 svc guy told me that NS production is going to be discontinued and it is full of complaints. 220 is better than NS.!!!!

Don't pamper your bike too much by keeping it to low RPMs always, or it won't know that it's an NS, and will think it's a Splendor. :P

Don't worry, cold start problems are common in this season and weather. Use choke for 20 seconds everyday when you start it in the morning.

Same thing, even I feel something holding engine in lower RPMs, but I guess it is just the engine braking.

In the morning, put your bike on centre stand, check your oil level. Start the engine, and let the rear wheel run by engaging first gear and applying slight throttle, and do it for sometime. After sometime, check the temperatureof the rear brake disks, if its even a little warm, it means that the disks are rubbing the brake pads. If not, you should chill as the rear brakes aren't holding back the bike. Just wash the rear and front disks with high pressure stream of water. Also make sure you arent sub-consciously resting your foot on the brake lever while riding.

Also get your carb re-tuned.

Two ways to solve this issue..

1. Get a Good mech, and ask him to open up the calipers and adjust the piston in it and tell him to Adjust the Brake Play.
2. Remove the DOT-3 oil in it and use DOT-4 oil... A Mech with Proper skills can do this work easily..

Spraying water in it or using cleaning Spray wont solve the issue...

today i visited the service center(Dada motors,Ludhiana) and told them the whole story that disc generate a lot of heat specially in the rear disc brake..they said that this is because you have put your foot on it while riding...this is the reason and the another mechanic also told that this is common do not take any tension.......thnx bondarun
please tell me if i put dot-4 oil (please tell me the brand name) can this totally solve the problem ...

Its nothing to worry about I had the same problems. A good wash and cleaning will fix the disc noise. Bike will be more smooth after 1000 kms. My bike was very rough and vibes were unbearable post 700 km but after 1000 km it just felt really smooth. You don't have to keep the bike under 50kph, just ride it like you ride any normal bike, just don't ride at a constant rpm, take it to higher rpm's once in a while.

SVC guys are total retard on this...
They never take your word serious unless u keep a Knife in their neck...
I nearly wasted 300rs of petrol for this one issue ( rear disc heat up and Noise )

Then i visited a diff svc and told them the problem. They did remove the rear caliper and cleaned the piston and everything was Perfect and bike felt so smooth later on..
But i did have noise in front under lower speed ( 10~20km/hr )

As NS has poor rear braking power, i installed DUKE 200 Steel braided lines and upgraded my oil to BOSCH DOT-4.
Also i upgraded the front to Steel braided which is found on 220F and upgrade the oil to BOSCH DOT-4...

No more noise on the front and rear.. Bike is smooth and braking power has increased to a noticeable extend..

Note - we didnt remove the front Caliper to install the brake lines, just the cable and the oil made the noise go off..

By default Bajaj uses TVS DOT-3 Brake fluid..

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Its our Bike... We have to listen to it not to those Mech...

Go through the internet and read through stuffs on how to maintain it and diagnose the issues etc...

If u trust the Mech at svc, the bike wont do any good... No other bike does disc noise at 1st. its not normal at all... i have owned a P135LS and it has a front disc brake. it never gave me any problems...

I took things on my own hands and solved most of the issues...
rather wasting my money on putting petrol to drive 40km up&down to hear their bullshiii.... -_-

hi mates,
am krishna from chennai. i have completed my UG. i am in look out for a bike. this would be my 2nd bike. my first bike was gs150r.
the gs was ultra refined and comfortable. I ride mostly in the city and now am planning to upgrade to an NS.
I just have a few queries,
1. I heard that there are a lot of vibration problems in the ns (seat, handlebar, speedo) is it true? and if it is, then what is the solution for it??
2. What is the mileage u get and what is the cost of servicing?
3. Comfortable highway cruising speeds? and stability in the highways?
Biking is in my Blood!!

Vibration are Present. It depends upon how well you maintain the bike and spend money on the Engine oil etc.
Am getting something around 40~42km/ltr in city driving condition
Haven't checked it yet.. Going for a Road Trip this Sunday to Pondy..

bondarun : yes. Thats what hurts to hear. May be No other bike does this & spending over a lakh & have a problem in new one which is not resolved properly And before purchase, I didn't expect to put my effort to resolve issues than enjoy the ride.

My P200ns is just 45 days old....750km+ on odo and within a week or so of purchase, had rear break noise problem. Before 1st service, visited the SVC twice for same problem & after the repair within one or two days problem will re-appear!! Both the times I couldn't watch what they did. After repair, bike was noise free, but problem would come back in a day. Once took it to Auto Service on a weekend, they didn't repair as they were busy, but observed the wheel rotation & told it seems to be mis-alignment or bent disc. Since bike is under warranty, I took it to original SVC, Bannerghatta Road Popular Bajaj.

At last on 1st service last weekend went for 1st service & highlighted this issue again(3rd time!!). After service, bike was feeling very good to ride & probably smoothest to ride since I purchased. Within a day I observed rear-break was lacking bite & even one of my friend who has p150 felt same.
And noise problem came back with a vengeance it was hampering the free running of bike & it was so loud that on the road few people used to ask me what happened? there is something wrong, don't ride etc comments!!
Soooooo embarrassing, a new bike compensating for its weak horn thru unbearable disc break noise & everyone looking at me

Again I gave back to SVC on 18th evening. Got a first hand feel of how a busy SVC treats a annoyed customer
Total apathy towards our concerns & some usual talks. 3 days over & still its not solved.

From the start I had a doubt about wheel alignment/bend/disc damage as the noise was not coming for the entire rotation of wheel but at only one point. As I am technically qualified to diagnose & point it out, I took a video of wheel rotation. I could see its not rotating in straight axis. When showed this & told about, mechanic simply refused & told its problem with Break set only, almost all bike wheel won't revolve in straight axis, there will some minor variations!!
Some piston in break is rubbing disk, they need to replace it but don't have stock.............But still I'm not convinced. it seems they are hiding some problem.

SORRY for the long post...this is my first bike & biggest spend so far...so. 6 weeks of purchase, 4 visits to SVC & I'm sad
I would like to upload the video, so that I can get any of your suggestions, but don't know how to.
Tomorrow I want to escalate this matter. Please advise how can I proceed further.
