    Hello guys,

i own a pulsar 200NS , and i am facing some issues now, (Kms done till now - 16000)

    1) below 4k RPM , bike feels very low on torque, it's like no power in the bike , but as soon as it crosses 4K , power is back , instant response to throttle.

    2) did got decent avg till my second service, around 38-40 (city riding conditions) , but after that it is always around 31-32 km/pl

    3) recently i noticed some sound coming out from my rear breaks when applied (some metal sound , are the break pad gone ??)

    4) done with 3 free service and 1 paid service all at bajaj showrooms. Noting replaced till now , everything stock , just changed oil filter in every service.

    5) Always used bajaj-Dtsi oil only.

    please help.

        point 1- check the carburetor
point 2- must be connected to point 1, as far as I know there is a system of measuring the air and fuel ration on your bike, check that it is in the stock position[refer to the manual for this one or go to a pro biking showroom in your city.]
point 3 - put the bike the in central stand and in neutral with your hand check the disk break, it may have gotten bend, again, check the manual to see the condition of your brake pads
point 4-5 refer to the other people on this thread to replace your oil, the bajaj oil was always suspicious to me.

        Take care

        Manan.

had gone for highway ride today
          100km round trip
before the ride, the left side turn indicators were not working, and i thought cause of rains may be.
whole while the left side indicators wouldnt get activated, i dont know why. the right side one works completely fine. i tried different positions of the switch, at one point got them working, i left them on for a while thinking things would get back to normal, and again the same issue.
i guess there is some loose connection in the switch
what to do? service centre guys will charge me to get a new left switch board?
and this happened just after yesterday after i got my bike from servicing

If you got your bike from Service Yesterday, There are chances in getting the Spray oil ( used for polishing ) might have got into it and causing the issue.
Take it back to them and ask for it, if its near by your place..

              Hello,
I am writing back in this forum after a long gap.
However I have a few things to share:

              Current ODO reading: 11500KMS

              1. At around 9K ODO reading, the top speed of the bike dropped considerably. As in, the bike would struggle to cross the 95KMPH mark werein I could easily do 125KMPH earlier. The mileage also dropped to 26 KMPL with average city riding and no red lining while earlier I used to get 37-40 KMPL. I showed it to the service station and the mechanic diagnosed the problem to be with the Carburetor valve. A rubber value just above the Carb. He changed it(Under warranty) and the pickup of the bike improved(The boost at 7K RPM had vanished) but the mileage was more or less the same(28KMPL). Now at 11000KMS ODO, the pickup issue seem to have reappeared. Anyone has any idea/solution to this? And also any idea on the mileage? it is really burning my pocket. <Sometimes I prefer driving my Swift Vdi... it runs on diesel and return 15KMPL while my bike runs on Petrol and returns 27KMPL... more or less the same equation>

              2. The chain and sprocket: The chain started making unusual noise since 10500ODO. I checked it myself and looks like the sprocket seems to have worn off. Isn't it too early for that to happen? I bought the bike in July2012. Will I be able to claim warranty for the chain.

I used to love riding... the vibrations and other minor issues were negligible... but the ones I am facing now are not negligible... Any help with the two issues would be really appreciated.

              Thanks.

                Thanks.

Get your Carb tuned Properly... Ask a Pulsar Expert mech to tune it. Ask him to set it as its on a P180.
I had a issue with Throttle response. but it got solved by tuning the Carb. Also i get Mileage above 40.

11k for a chain Sprockets wear is quite normal. You can change them but not under warranty.

Even this might have been the issue for lost in high end Torque.

                Maintain Proper Tyre Pressure
                Check chain slack
Do Chain service once in 600kms
Use Petrol from one Petrol bunk. even if there is same branch after few kms, fuel up in one bunk all time.
Check Engine oil lvl ( use Motul )
Also check for disc hold up in rear. If possible upgrade your Brake fluid to BOSCH or Castrol DOT-4 dont use TVS etc..

                  Thanks buddy
Let me go hunting for a good pulsar mechanic(Anyone whom you know of in Bangalore?) and get the chain sprocket changed and the carb tuned.

Hopefully these should get my bike back in the game!

All the remaining points are checked regularly, got my rear brake pads changed recently.

Also try getting Spares from Bajaj showroom. dont get it outside anywhere.

Also Try changing your Spark plugs to NGK IRIDIUM ( slave plugs ). Default one life is around 10k kms.

Can anyone suggest a good horn for 200ns that won't harm the battery. I like the skoda car horn sound, so do we get such horn for our bike? My factory horn has gone kaput and i don't want that timid sounding horn again. Searched a lot but couldn't find anyone suggesting good quality loud horn that doesn't kill the battery.

                          Try Apache horns.
They sound good... Not that loud nor low.. Its in the Middle...

TVS ppl said that, it will cost around 600rs..

For some reason whenever I check on this thread, I can see only people complaining about their bikes.

Thought 200ns was supposed to be bajaj's premium bike which is engineered almost to perfection instead its giving its owners problems after problems

The bike has problems, true! But nothing new that isn't found on other bikes.
Most of the problems remain un-rectified because of poor service centre treatment, this has to improve.
