why would Chintan "Sir" shed light on when NS is launching in Bihar? If I am not wrong Chintan isnt working for Bajaj nor is owning a Bajaj showroom. He is not an xBhp moderator or bike reviewer as well. Is he?

One doesn't need to be all the above to get information. Info can also be gathered with something called "Friendly connections"

@ALL NS interested KOKATANS - @myth got a call from bajaj TODAY MORNING that the bike has launched in kolkata with an ex-showroom price of 87,4xx/-.
Since we both are out of kolkata, so other guys please confirm. What-ever the dealer is saying please post along with proper dealer's name.

Common man spare the new member his share of beans!! He's is asking this question to Chintan because he has helped out other members too in every possible way a fellow biker can help another fellow biker. So, Praveen has done the right thing in asking the question directly. Moreover, a person doesn't need to be a moderator, a bike reviewer or a dealer to know things. This forum is beaming with people who know things even dearlers don't and that's purely out of enthusiasm

@Praveen : I'm sure if Chintan comes across your query, he would surely try to find some answers around it. In the mean while you can try contacting the Bajaj Customer care via e-mail -[email protected]

          • Any coating, polish to preserve color of bike well??

            Hi guys,

I am Nilesh from Pune. This is my first post here, though i have been following this post since starting. The ownership experience by people around the country has been very helpful on zeroing upon 200NS.

I simply fell in love with NS the first time i laid my eyes upon it. But just to be sure of it i have followed xBHP reviews, took 2-3 test drives, gathered all that i can about the bike and now i have booked the bike. Red color. There is no waiting in Pune and the showroom guys was giving me bike in just 2 days after paying full in cash. But i had to take special number from RTO and also i am going out of station so i decided to take delivery on 16th Aug. Now i can't wait for the day. This is gonna be my first bike, that too of my own money..

Most of my questions are already answered here. But one question still in my mind which is: Is there something that can be done to preserve the color of bike?? Someone mentioned wax/polymer polish. How is that option?? What about Teflon coat?? One of my friends say Teflon coat is not good option. Any other better option??

@DNA: That's a brilliant solution mate. +1 from me. Have you done anything for rear tyre as well?? 2-3 guys have done patch work on the split mudguard. But if there is something better than that it would be great. I am searching for some solution for it. Rear mudguard is pathetic in NS, and i don't want my bike to get dirty like that every day.

for cost ,the clips are of 10 rs and flap is 15 rs , 2 bolts 4 rs so total is 29rs , minimum cost and 100 % effective working , not even a drop of muddy water on radiator or silencer bend pipe

I took the one less traveled by,

did not get the centre stand at kalyani bajaj, mekhri circle(out of stock)

regarding the noise from rear disc brakes, they have reported the issue to bajaj saying that P200 NS uses closed calipers which should be replaced with P220 's open calipers which will resolve the issue.
If bajaj agrees they will change it for all 200 NS bikes for free:
              D

              However, service was ok-ok.
they have increased the idling to 1700 rpm which after depressing the clutch becomes 2200 rpm(the choke is off i checked).
Also, the brakes have lost their bite.
maybe will have to go again

These SVC guys are bunch of idiots. The very first model of 220s came with the open type rear disc brakes from KBX. Later on, they moved to much better Bybre brakes even on 220s.

The sound from rear disc are nothing new, just matter of bedding in, adjustment and cleaning. It happens with lot of bikes, including my previous 220. The reason why it happens with few bikes and not all of them is because the disc pad on these bike are either not properly set, has debris or uneven surface.

I would suggest, Bangalore guys let's meet up, we can share a lot of info and get the confusion out by comparing our bikes.

Found a "first aid kit" in NS. Its under front seat, right side. Ignore if its, not a new thing here.
It has always been there. It's mandatory for all the bikes in India.

just that don't use the 10W40. I'm sure you would have done a better job than the A.S.S of BAJAJ

I'm not sure when is it going to be launched, bet rest assure you guys will get a better bike, with all the issues ironed out. That's Pooja gift!

And guys, got the extra Horn installed. And no it's not a "heart attack" giver or ROOTS but more powerful than the stock 220s horns.

              • Just picked up my red NS yesterday from the Wakdewadi showroom in Pune
Some feedback on the bike and the showroom

                Showroom feedback (SNK Bajaj Wakdewadi):
                • The sales guys will act like your best friend – till you make the payment. Worse behavior while picking up the bike
                • On arriving I was told to meet a representative the in house RTO office, who told me about the document and service booklet etc.
                • Was waiting with the bike for 15min for someone to tell me about the various functions. Got shouted at by the watchman for removing the SNK BAJAJ sticker from the number plate :P
                • One guy comes over and, talks to me for 5 min about the bike and disappears with a colleague. Seen chatting with a few others in a corner while some other owners and me are waiting.
                • Tell the watchman that the bike is dirty and needs washing. A mechanic comes over to wash the bike. No one there has a clue about choke location, the run in period/rpm, location of oil level indicator etc
                • Get pissed off even further, call the salesman who pitched the bike. He comes over and starts telling me stuff like its electric start and has 6 gears etc.
                • Ask bout stuff like coolant level and oil level – get a reply “Sir don’t worry. Everything is same as it was when it left factory. Get it checked during 1st service”

Did anyone else have a similar experience while picking up the bike or was it just me? I hope the others had it better..

                Bike feedback: The good bits
                • Fast – really fast.. need unbelievable amount of restraint not to rev the bike
                • Brakes are mindblowingly good
                • Very easy to drive in traffic

Bike feedback: The not so good bits
                • Turning radius is not as small as other bikes.. Had to do a three point turn at a petrol pump – much to the amusement of an activa owner behind me
                • Rear mud flap design could be better
                • Engine sounds a bit harsh as compared to a 220
                • Why no self-cancelling indicator!!!! But on a serious note, the design of the indicator button could have been better

Don’t know if this is serious, but after 40km, was on my way to office when the Oil warning Indicator lit up on the instrument console.
Pulled over, checked for leaks. None spotted..
Started the bike and the Oil warning Indicator was off..
                Any reason for worry?

would installing a new horn in anyway affect the warranty??

Don't worry, it's a common issue with the sensor! It will get solved eventually.

Yes, officially it will void the warranty. You can say part trust, part experience, i have problems in modding my bike!
But whatever you do, the mods should be reversible and not damaging to the bike in anyway!

brake calipers which hold on to the discs...
they are not open in 200 ns but are enclosed type.

                              • First post here. Picked up my NS from Amba Bajaj,Outer Ring Road Bangalore yesterday. Big move from a 10 year old Splendor to the 200NS. Delivery process as such was smooth.

Originally posted by Red_Redemption View Post

The process of delivery as such was smooth. But the 'feature explanation' by the mechanic was even more pathetic for me. He was telling things like this is start switch, this is the the light switch, this is high beam low beam, this is indicator, this is brake, press brake rear brake light will light up etc...

Then I asked him how to switch between the trip meter and odo and how to reset, he did not have any idea and called another guy who found it by trial and error. No explanation about running in, service interval etc..

Not a big deal since I already had most of the info from this thread and any doubts can always be clarified by looking at the manual or online.
