My NS has clocked 1500 kms on the odo, I have followed the bajaj run in speeds only for like 700-800 kms after that have revd till 7-8 rpm most of the times and redlined it once on the second third and fourth gear. I haven't faced any issues till now except the bike has turned a lil harsh but still reaches the higher rpms easily.. by riding this way have I caused any extreme damage to the engine which results I will see in the near future.?

WARNING: the following post might be offtopic but it is of vital importance to everyone here.Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostAs far as I know, the suspension on the hardest setting is shortest, (the suspension is compressed) and on the softest setting it's longest (increase in height). Adjusting the suspension simply means either increasing the spring preload, which makes the suspension harder and decreases the height, inversely, decreasing the preload increases the height and makes the suspension softer.
Read more: Raising the Height of a Motorcycle | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/info_12196581_ra...#ixzz24uZJTjX6 I verified it as well, when did set my bike to softest setting. Nothing much but it does slightly increase the height especially for the pillion.
DC bike also, will see a drop in RPM. The bulb, puts pressure on the battery, the current drops at the terminals. Though it should not be more than 100 RPM max.
BTW here's the AFR screw pic, sorry for the delay.
If you are going to tinker with it, just do a half turn and check the results.
I rarely post in here since the bike doesn't reach my country until at least mid 2013 but in this case I consider it necessary to post and in it is to correct you on the AFR explanation from your picture.
First I want to say is that I know I'm a newish member here and going by what I have read (the entire thread) some people in here tend to disagree or have no trust whatsoever on informational posts from newbies if you want to call us that, it is understandable though so now to the matter at hand to prevent people from messing up their AFR:
Unless the P200NS is employing an outdated carb (which I doubt) then what you have shown in the picture, i.e. clockwise for a richer AFR and counterclockwise for a leaner AFR is completely and totally WRONG, now comes the disagreement and distrust with the newbie but hold your horses fellow riders, here comes the explanation:
In older carbs the AFR screw used to be located nearer to the rear of the carb, hence towards the air filter, controlling the air intake to the venturi of the carb. For those cases what you say is TRUE since turning it clockwise will allow less air thus making the mixture richer and leaner if you turn it counterclockwise.
However in newer carbs like the mikuni UCAL in the P220 the AFR screw is located towards the front of the carb, therefore closer to the cylinder admission and hence controlling the amount of fuel in the mixture, so in these cases if you turn it clockwise you are decreasing the amount of fuel and therefore making the mixture lean, by contrary if you turn it counterclockwise you are allowing more fuel into the mixture therefore making it richer.
If your bike is cold (has been off for 6+ hours) and you turn it clockwise till it closes completely you'll notice that when you start the bike it will stall inmediately if you don't rev it, the reason being that the mixture has been made as lean as possible.
Now that being said I hope that people will not mess up their AFR by doing the wrong procedure and as a bonus I also have info about the shock preload/seat height controversy that will leave it as clear as possible for everyone but I won't post that to avoid backlash for contradicting a respected member on two topics of the same post so only if you want me to post it then I will.
Cheers, ride safe and enjoy your machines.

no . I use the bike just for going to college which is 45 kms from my house . after the first 6 kms there is 8-lane(4 on each side) national highway for a stretch of about 30 kms so 6-7 rpm is just normal , and I leave at Morning around 7am and the bike and the road ask for more but as I have learnt riding very recently I stop there , and because of the high petrol rates I take it only alternate days or else would have finished the run-in. for city use I use my kinetic Honda .Originally posted by sree@mumbai View PostAre you a Racer....

Bro I had the same royal experience when I bought Pulsar in the first batch (non DTSI) way back in 2003. with the increase in number of Pulsars and after the free services, royal treatment has come down to usual pathetic service with other vehicles like Platina, Discover etc.Originally posted by nariet View PostGuys just my two cents on this hot topic. The NS will be serviced only by the Bajaj regular SVC and not PBK. As to the mechanics having 15 minutes to complete a bike does not hold good cos for now Bajaj is treating NS owners like royalty (atleast where i got it serviced) and the experience was good. Every SVC has atleast two mechanics who have been trained on the NS and these guys are senior and enthusiastic. They were very accomodating when I wanted my brake lines changed and they did not charge me for it. Surprisingly the mechanic called me after two days to find out how the bike was. So I guess certain things are changing for the better.

@barik : I went to a Dunlop shop & they had the Tuff Grip tyre with them but a 140/70-17 one.The tyre looked nice & he said that its the best tyre for biking which he can offer me.
Quoted me a price of 3.5k.Said fitting won't be an issue at all.
Now all I have to do is to get a hamster who is ready to buy my Eurogrip.
What do you think about the 3.5k price he quoted me ?

Nope, only when you ride the bike continuously with half clutch, the plates get burntOriginally posted by Rahulbarik View Postthats quite a useful info...
thanx for sharing it... And mee too have the same doubt as shibadip...wont it burn the clutch plates?
Even in 4 wheelers, u don't have to press the clutch fully to change gears

Engine stalling
It's been 5 days and 180 kms since I got hold of my pulsar 200 NS. Till this morning I used to ride sanely but once I beheld an open stretch of road, I felt a tad bit irresponsible and took the vehicle to 7k rpm.
After parking the vehicle for about an hour, I restarted without any problems but after riding for a kilometre or so, my engine began stalling. The engine was gasping for air between 2-3k & above 4k rpm. I found the yellow light in the console turn on. I waited for 2 mins and turned on the engine again and everything was back to normal. Is this just a case of rich mixture of air and fuel or is there a connection between what happened in the morning to this? Please help me!
And also the fuel gauge seems to have a mind of it's own. Anyone else with these problems?Last edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 08-29-2012, 09:34 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Hello Everyone...Just wanted to share a small Review of the bike performance..
Its just been 6 days i got my Blue NS delivered to me and already its 600 KM on the ODO...All thanks to the awsome Road Trip to Mysore from Bangalore..My ride includes 70% Highway Driving and 30% City Drive.. !!!
And i did maintain the speed limit to 60km/hr most of the times below 4K Rpm although reached 5K RPM as well in short intervals and just took the bike to max speed of 80km/hr once...

And my journey included Pillion rider as well all the time..
I am just awestruck by the bike performance..LOVED it completely..feels so proud to own this beauty..All the way in the Trip i turned quite a few Heads as well as people came to me enquiring about the bike etc etc...i was so overwhelmed...

Enough of chit-chat..Now i will give the small review as i dont want to go into much details as previously it has been discussed 100 times...It will surely satisfy many customers..

Engine Performance - Excellent
Engine Sound - Good
Braking- Excellent
Bike Stability - Excellent
Seat Comfort (Rider)- Good
Seat Comfort (Pillion)- Ok..My friend complained that seat is quite hard and its not that comfortable
Ride in Wet Conditions - Good (But sometimes you dont get confidence from these Tyres in cornering)
Vibrations - Negligible
Build Quality of Parts- Good
Headlight Illumination - Excellent
Horn- Weak but Ok for city rides
Shockers - Excellent (Didnt felt much jerks throughout the journey)
Handle Position - Good
Ride Posture - Good
Cornering Ability - Excellent
Easily flickable in traffic .... !!!!!!!
Now the Important part..
Mileage - 42-45 Km/L (Just a rough estimate)
Overall Ride Quality - Good...Satisfied with this great product from Bajaj..Kudos to BAJAJ..
Now its time to get my bike to the Service station by this weekend...Just 6 days and my bike is ready to visit the showroom again..

Thanks to every Person in this particular thread for buliding confidence in me to go for this Bike as i have always been ANTI-PULSAR or rather ANTI-BAJAJ...This product satisfies most of my requirements...GO AND GRAB IT GUYS..You will LOVE it !!!!!

bargain hard,i know 2 people one has bought them for 2700 and other guy for 3200 rsOriginally posted by nishant.sukharia View Post@barik : I went to a Dunlop shop & they had the Tuff Grip tyre with them but a 140/70-17 one.The tyre looked nice & he said that its the best tyre for biking which he can offer me.

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
