This is not the position that your foot normally rests in(Compare it with the way your foot rests while your toes are on the Gear shifter, that will make it more clear).

Any ways,I do not have any problem with this.I always ride with my toes on the pegs, and I rarely use my rear brakes, unless I need to stop when I am at a high speed. Most of my braking is done with the front brake only.
    Braking Ratio= Front:80% Rear:20%

    +1

Completly agree with the above comments; however I feel riding with toes on footpegs(i do too) can become an issue during panic braking.
Not sure if we can fiddle with it to make it better

No, there are around 10-12 slots (It's dark outside and I can't make out) but mine's on the half-hardest setting.

Yes you can. Just make sure, while untightening the bolt holding the brake lever, you don't break the whole footpeg assembly. Trust me, it's very fragile.

Can't believe your clutch, sprocket teeth are worn. Do a test of your clutch, A normal 200NS should pick up right from 2k-2.5k RPM(even 1.5k) without any problems (don't just pop the clutch though). Not sure about the speed in every gear, but my NS mantains 58kmph@ 4k RPM on 6th gear. not the best but it's alright. Check yours.
About the brake pads do try to keep your right foot Off the brake pedal when riding, I spotted like several riders who'd just ride their NS with their foot on the rear brake pedal all the time, can be seen cos Tail LED lights up when they do.
Bro i am the only one who is riding my NS and trust me i am not a aggressive rider. Yes i was but only till my first small accident after 2 month of getting NS. But yes i am too shocked to see clutch plates and chain set got changed by 14000 kms. I also saw one of duke owner getting chain set changed at 13000 odo. The SVC guys at Deewan Bajaj - Okhla told me that both are normal (clutch plate and chain set) getting changed by 13 - 15 k in NS and duke. The total work done on bike was change on chain set, new clutch plate, air filter change, both disc pads (rear and front) ball bearing in handle, oil change and also they were asking to change all the spark plugs which i denied for. Total bill 6986/- out of which they charged me 2400/- for labour only.

Don't know if all this done was really needed to or not but yes finally my bike is back to with the power to go vroooooommmmmm.

But let me make all of you make aware of the fact that i drive through a road almost on daily basis which is in its worst then the worst condition with very big holes for 7 - 8 kms.

"Toes on foot-pegs" is a sure way to avoid panic braking and causing your bike to fishtail.
Remember, apply your front brakes first, and then your rear brakes gradually.Use engine braking too.

if it is not like this in your bike, you can get it adjusted. its quite easy.

            • Re: Pulsar 200 NS

Finally completed 40,000+ kms of ownership of the NS!

And now its put to rest for a brief period due to my health in post-crash.

              Mods:
247cc heart with bigger bore. (Clocked around 17k with the current setup)
              Racing springs
              Mobile Charger

              Issues:
Electrical components kind of gave away after 35k. Had to replace the battery to Amaron.
The Digital meter displays significant issues. Have replaced them twice till now once due to short circuit and once due to mysterious reasons of the ODO going faulty.
Tyres changed once. Pirelli and then back to stock.
Chain Sprocket life never seems to increase beyond 22k in spite of lubing and cleaning it not so regularly.
Front shocks oil seal had broken once.
The crash guard's top screw breaks/falls off mysteriously no matter how much to take care of it.
The Rims seems stronger than it looks (While I had gone to buy the bike I was scared on seeing the rim. Had thought that it might break while doing a rough patch). 1 Change done after an accident.
Disk pads do give a decent life of more than 12k everytime. My current disk pads are still going well at 15k.
The chromium colored metal seems to wear off pretty fast.
Radiator works well and till now I have heard it running 6 or 7 times only. Its pretty unused I guess if you stick to the highways and do decent speeds.
Finally I have got used to the sounds made by the vibes.
The 3-piece handle's bolt do develop play's and its irritating most of the time when that happens.

              Top end:
159 kmph on ODO - Done at Katraj Tunnel

              Mileage:
46~52kmpl - Before the engine mod
30~35kmpl - After the engine mod

              Longest ridden at a strech:
              Mt.Abu - Mumbai
              Saddlesore - Pune-B'lore-Pune
              Pune - Nagpur

              Analysis:
Bike is good. Wind blast is an issue while on long high speed rides. Riding Posture is good and it does not cause much of problems to the back or wrist. Sitting on the pillion seat might scary and yes its very painful for males to sit on the pillion seat (Hope you understand). Tank could had been a bit larger as it would be great for touring. Wish some fire parts become available for the NS and speaking of the same wish we could get a aftermarket fairing type of thing. It gets really tough to see the read and to ride at night in rains with the headlight (I am not sure if that's because of my visor).

4 months remain for the beast to become a year old. It seems that would go without any happening as I am bedridden now due to an unfortunate accident. Waiting patiently.

                Great Review !

                But last paragraph.
                You did 40k in 8 months ??

And I was thought the 33k in 11 months that I did was awesome.

                Good going bro.

It could also possible due to the state of the road that you mention in your post. While going through this section of the road how do you ride? with the clutch pressed? in which gear do you ride? and do you use hard acceleration while going on and off the pot holes?

if you are planning to replace the pilot lights on the front below the headlamp wit red color led's, plz note that these are illegal.

red color lights are only allowed at the back of any vehicle.

planning to get a set myself, white coluor though.and i think the second one would be brighter-just my opinion though, pics dont do justice.we need a wider light, not a sharp one coz the outer shell of our park light isnt plain see through.have tried single big led,it sucked, went back to bulb.this looks good though

Anybody using any alarm systems on their bikes?

Last night, somebody stole away petrol from my bike and had also cut off the petrol supply pipe, from society parking. Bike got stalled on the way to office , and then i thought petrol may be over, though i was lil surprised as i wasnt expecting it to get over , towed it to petrol pump , and filled petrol, and then i realized that the pipe is cut when all the petrol leaked off. Then had to tow it to SVC and got it repaired. Had a tough time today.

Waiting patiently.

red color lights are only allowed at the back of any vehicle.
u should try pilot lamps with 10 or more smd led's
