My DIY(s) - Sprocket bearing change | Paint job | Custom speedo dial
Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.

Got it rectified!Originally posted by spknair View Post"LAG" ????
Its a common issue with 200NS. Many of us had shared about this problem.
Some had rectified by tuning & mine had to replace my carburetor.....
I think we have to De-carbonize our head, if we are facing knocking issueSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Went to ktm to ask for duke's, but they said it wont fit.. Plz help me. Those steel braided lines needed urgently!
contact them .. steel braided brake lines available for Pulsar .. you'll have to check if its available for the 200 NS.. if available it'll be a direct fit.. Few CBR 250 owners have bought and its of the same length as stock so a direct fit..
Hope this helps

Re: Steel Braided Lines
I am not sure of the costs but guess you missed reading the below bit from their site:Originally posted by smrutisourav View PostThankyou have mailed them, but it seems they are charging double the cost of steel braided lines!
"as we only ever use stainless steel fittings for the motorcycle marketplace we can offer the HEL Performance Lifetime Warranty on all brake line kits."
Also, they read stuff written here -- > Pitstop Performance

Re: Steel Braided Lines
thanks again, i know hel brake lines are quality stuff but still paying nearly 6000 rupees for two brake lines is a lot, when mrp of p220 front brake line is 1000 rupees!Originally posted by thegeneboy View PostI am not sure of the costs but guess you missed reading the below bit from their site:

lets see if i can find at cheaper rates.
It would have been so easy had duke brake lines were direct fit

Re: Steel Braided Lines
in duke length is not the problem. Problem is with its connection ends. As per ktm it doesn't matchOriginally posted by thegeneboy View Postyeah too costly.. quality comes at a cost.. Re: Steel Braided Lines
Hello guys. I had an accident on 21/3/2013 when some vehicle hit me from behind on the highway when I was on my way home. Finally last week, I gave it to the service centre. The bike struggled to start at first and I rode it slowly at speeds around 30 to the svc 20km away from home.
Damages to the bike: right handle bar(silver piece) bent, brake fluid reservoir cap, tank centre piece, tank right cowl, right foot peg broken and lost, brake pedal broken, brake lever bent, right hand side headlight panels scraped, few scratches on the headlight(not much to notice), signal lights came off but put them back without a problem, rear number plate and light destroyed, but the holder was ok, front number plate broken and the clamp was bent, forks went a little bit out of alignment but were not bent, the steering stopper was bent and right side of the tail cowl scraped ad the side a little bit. and the right mirror was also hit but not broken, the rubber sleeve did get torn a bit.
Damages to me: few bruises and a clavicle fracture. the helmet broken/cracked from right jaw side till the scalp. went unconscious for about 20min. People thought I was dead and did not stop. Later after I woke up and was moving, some guys in a car stopped and helped me. It took 2 and half months to completely heal because of my carelessness. Thought it was completely healed and boarded the city bus to go to office and back to hospital within an hour
.
And, finally, I gave the bike for repair last week. The tank and tank cowls were replaced, the signal lights were fixed to their original position, the rear number plate and light were replaced, the brake lever, brake pedal, brake oil, brake oil reservoir cap were replaced, the engine covers were opened and gaskets were changed and all leakages sealed. radiator was working fine and all electricals were working well. the steering stopper was grinded on one side and a small weld on the other side to maintain the gap between handlebars and tank. chain was cleaned and sprayed. I had to stay with them all the while it was repaired because, otherwise, they will just replace the broken parts and wash the bike and say its over and I didn't want my time to be wasted to and fro to the svc.
The only thing I regret is the petrol being left in the tank for such a long time. Now the bike is getting hiccups from around 4000rpm till 9000rpm. no misfires but just hiccups. I added some new petrol and the problem seems to be diminishing. I will try and have the carburetor cleaned if the problem persists.
And the tak-tak sound from the front has vanished after the tank covers changed. so it was from the plastic tank the wierd annoying sound on small bumps and potholes was coming from.
the console buzzing still persists and the rear seat play still there. these are the only other annoying issues to be rectified.
a good set of frame sliders are definitely needed for the bike.Last edited by surampudijagadeesh; 07-23-2013, 09:52 AM.BreaklessBiker

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Today, I checked the afr screw since the engine was not running smooth and jerking at higher rpms even after completely replacing the fuel. what I found was the screw was turned all the way in at the svc. when I called them and asked, they were telling that they did it for mileage.
So now, I have re-tuned it to a richer setting and the engine is responding well, but I will observe it for a few days and try to get the best setting possible.
My advice to new owners, never ask the service centre guys to tune for mileage, they will just ruin it.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Well that's why I try my best to make time before any service at the SC coz even if it takes a while, I wanna be present and watch what they do.Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View PostToday, I checked the afr screw since the engine was not running smooth and jerking at higher rpms even after completely replacing the fuel. what I found was the screw was turned all the way in at the svc. when I called them and asked, they were telling that they did it for mileage.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
A horrible thing happened today afternoon. The petrol started leaking from the overflow pipe of carb. some kids spotted the dripping while i was riding. I immediately switched off the petrol and called the svc. The mechanic came to the spot and inspected it and concluded that something was stuck in the carb. we went to the svc with the vehicle carried in a tata magic. at svc, the mechanic opened the carburetor and found some white flakes blocking the jets. then he mentioned that while servicing earlier, they poured some fuel injector cleaner in the petrol and thought it would clean up the garbage. and it turned out the flaky particles were too large to get flushed out. they were the varnish that formed due to the petrol left in the tank for too long. it was almost four months.
The svc guys offered to clean the tank, carburettor for free. I will be getting the bike tomorrow. Hope atleast this time they do a good job.Last edited by surampudijagadeesh; 07-25-2013, 09:32 AM.BreaklessBiker
