I believe its d tappet noise, or so answered by the svc guys.
I used to get that sound before servicing, but now, everything is as smooth as silk.
I would suggest you to urgently report to svc centre before any further damage takes place.

I got my bike back yesterday after changing the carb diaphragm. Now I am able to red-line it (could try only on 5th gear) without any effort. But the pick-up has reduced slightly. It used to hit 103kmph @7k rpm, but now only 99kmph@7k rpm. I noticed a slight lag in lower rpms (4.5 to 6k rpm). Is it because of clutch plate?

What do you mean by Rolling Over???

And for your issue try and search for the better service center near your locality and get the Carb setting done properly, The bike is awesome if u managed to tune it properly.
Rolling Over in my case means the rise and fall in engine sound in between 3500 and 4000 rpm while riding in 2nd and 3rd gears. This issue is there only while riding.
There is no rise and fall if I rev the engine in neutral in the mentioned rpms. The rpm needle stays steady.

Yes, clutch plate damage usually causes such change in speeds in the corresponding rpm range. When the bike is revving do you feel that there is no considerable speed increase but the engine seems to keep revving up ? If yes, then indeed the clutch plates have been used up.

NOTE: when changing clutch plates, please also make it a point to change the friction plates along with it, or it will cause a premature wear of the plates again in future.

Guys before jumping to worn out clutch conclusion can I ask you to check if diaphragm and slider are properly functioning i.e. if slide is rising and falling freely? Cause the issue seems to be cropping up only in particular RPM range.
My suspicion is new slide + diaphragm is not moving freely as it should. It must be facing some minor resistance due to rough slide walls.

If slide is stuck , then a problem of fluctuating rpm will be evident, and also i had also asked to confirm if there was any problem with the bike revving and not speeding up. that is a way of checking out the clutch plates condition , if i am not mistaken..

Not exactly, If Slide is facing resistance RPM wont fluctuate, instead engine will take longer to rev past certain RPM. In this mean time vaccum inside the carb is struggling hard to lift the slide up to (and fighting against the resistance) compensate the demand from the engine and hence the feel of "lag".

Well a busted set of clutch plates indeed gives a very very lazy feel to engine "across the RPM", which I doubt if Rohitraghav is facing the same.

                  Cheers.

Hello.guys,i just got approved to be a xbhpian.Bought p200ns on 12 july 2013 and got it serviced on 24 aug,the magical thing about my bike's first service was when i reached the service centre(rajiv raj delhi) a seroius bajaj service engineer was roaming around that day, when i went in,talked to him ,he seem like a nice guy, while conversation, being a mec 4th year student i expressed my heartful desire to service my bike ( was having permission to stand 10cm away from bike while servicing) and BANG BOOM BANG! He stood up,handed me over all tools and said shuru hoja ladke,he guided me from removing brake clips to clean,to dismounting petrol head to clean air filter, also changed oil filter, poured oil myself,he was my mentor, guided me so much well that none of my teachers ever did, explaining my every que of what, how why. .he helped me satisfying my thirst of my mech. Kidda. In the end after 3 hours extensively on my p 200 ns the job was done,i did almost 80% of work. Was very much happy...will never forget how i serviced my own very first bike....
                    Now conclusions
0.money spend 95500/-( including rto and all that stuff even 2 lit. Petrol and a helmet)
1.Being 1300 on odo,i have no vibes at all, can see rubber grommets installed everywhere in my bike,i know it's impossible but i personally cannot feel vibes other than one on clutch side which makes my fingers go numb, that too bcuz of mad clutch pressing/depressing.
2.avg i get is around 35 but please do not mistake me that splendor guy,i do praise more km in a litre but personally when i see a lot of ppl crying for mileage on this bike,i literally laugh inside ,why u buy 1 lakh premium performance bike when u cannot tolerate mileage figures less than 40-50...
                    3. Before i bought my red devil,i read all 1100+ pages of ownership in just 1 day.
                    4. I drove like a yo bike until 900kms,after that im following james bond action chase style.
5.Personally feel that this ns is not THE VFM product but KTM D200(fi,more bhp, better tyres, more exclusivity) is,i brought p200ns cuz i am cursed by indian traditions of money( mummy taane maarti haa mere lal jaa lele 1.30 lakh ki bike) i was able to buy p200because it was under 1lac,if same would have been 100001,i would be riding a p180 or 220( no money problem though i come from a family that provides before you need)
6.personally feel that bajaj launched this bike without much of testing, like a recipie missing some salt and a little pepper.
                    7. Svc in east delhi are very efficeint and good listeners if u know the sweet way of talking, also i read here that many ppl have to travel 40km to visit svc,but here in 3 kms radius from my home,we have 12 bajaj dealership, and 7 svc.
                    8. Most of you may not even know, but you helped me a lot by participating in this forum,it was your reviews that made me go for this bike,so thank you everyone.

                      Congrats man!
The introductory 1.17 lacs price of Duke200 at the release was very enticing, today the bike costs like 1.33 lacs, 1.5 lacs on road ? alot if you ask me.
where in east delhi you found svc to be good ? name of the service center ? also how come 12 dealers and 7 svc within 3 kms radius lol? What's your place ?

Krishna nagar, here 5 rajjv raj,two deepak ,three fair deal and many small scale dealera are within comfort reach, also we have mechanics at every nukkaad,a new franchise named BIKE CARE has also 3 outlets nearby,
Deepak automobiles. Near bullet showroom, welcome metro station, the head mechanic treats bike like his own, especially ns,no other person handles ns there, also only bagga link has dedicated probiking section in all delhi,so deepak is best cuz i know him where u from

Still leaving price aside,ns is waste in front of duke

And asked his justification for taking 4 service visits & last 4 days in SVC to solve a problem in new bike. Even though he didn't reply, morning I got call from him, later from Service engineer & by evening it was ready.
I asked them to clarify exact issue..again piston this-that-blah-blah-blah!!
Later he said he replaced Disc & it was mentioned in service report too!!

When I was at SVC, rode another 1000km old P200ns, it was so smooth & now I know the fun I was missing Next time if I come across any P200ns owner, I want to let him ride my bike for a while & want to know if its ok.
All this time they were citing problem with Piston but how come they replace Disc break after I sent mail, video & mentioned about Bajaj. While I was having a discussion with manager decently, he was saying even if I inform bajaj, finally i've to come back to that SVC!!

same issue i had.. but on higher speed the noise goes off...
people at SVC are so lazy to remove the caliper and fix it...

A local mech can fix it without any problem.. its really simple...

If you have a well known local mech, ask him to remove the caliper and brake pads and ask him to re-push the piston back in...
it will help solve the issue...
