    Hi All,

The rear shock seems to have lost its "full action". Any suggestions?
I already have the following rectified:
    Air pressure
    Chain slack

If you want semi synthetic then Motul 5100 otherwise I feel Motul 7100 is best of the lot & you can get it from the service station itself (KTM stores).

What is the setting of rear shock? Try changing it to a harder setting?

7100 20W50 or 300V 15W50 both are good Full synthetic oils. While some service centers store 7100, the 300v needs to be bought from outside. 7100 is for Rs.775 at the SVC and the 300v will be around Rs.950 per litre. You will have to get two bottles of these since the bikes takes in 1.2 litres and the remaining 800 ml can be used for topping up or during the next change.

But one thing that i have noticed is that even during oil change you need to put 1.4 litres of oil, though 1.2 litres will suffice.

There is no such oil as a best engine oil. The difference is how the engine feels while riding your bike. Motul is a reputed brand amongst enthusiasts but there are many other similarly good brands available in the market. From my experience i can vouch for the 7100 20W50 since i am currently using it. I have also used the Motul 3000 which is a mineral oil and you need drain it as soon as 2000km. Both 3100 and 5100 are semi synthetic oils. the only difference is the grade 3100 is 20W50 and 5100 is 15W50. Drain level can be anywhere betwen 3000-3500 kms. Drain level for both 7100 and 300V (both these are full synthetic oils) can be as late as 5000 kms.Which ever oil you use do the following:- keep a tab on the total kms- if you ride less than normal then drain every 3-4 months- always buy from an authorized dealerHope this helps.

Yesterday I had a panic braking situation and the tyre just skidded. I also want to change the stock eurogrips, I would change it to mrf revz-s the one on the R15v2 on the rear and zapper fx (fz front) on the front. They are of the same size as the stock eurogrips. Can anyone from trivandrum suggest where can I get a good deal on the stock tyres which is 801 kms old, only 3 weeks.
Be prepared for a heavy feeling bike..... flickability will go to a huge extent while the increased stability will simply blow you away with what the chasis is capable of... i am using this setup from day one... never used the stock ones at all... bought tyres before delivery. i had some major arguements with r15 owners that ns handles as good as r15 in corners and they all abused me. Later when i rode another ns with stock tyre i realised that they were right coz they have ridden with stock tyres. I later gave them my bike for test ride amd they were like...'my god' this bike can handle amd they realised that even i was not wrong... thats the difference you get. Its a huge huge difference.

Simotas have very bad filtering...extremely bad i must say. If you have the budget, go get the bimota fiter instead....workd like a dream

My head is leaking oil for the last 10k kms and frankly i did not get time to rectify it... actually its kinda getting wet..not much loss... now the problem is the rascals at the svc says that it is not covered under warranty... it costs close to 500 bucks for the o-ring seal which they are saying is gone amd its not under warranty... then wtf is covered under warranty if engine leakage is not....? Only broken crank and siezed piston? Earlier my clutch was creating problem so they opened up the clutch side magnetic cover and charged me for gasket saying its not under warranty.. what kind of a joke is this... bajaj cc has stopped replying to my mail. Now i think i have to send them a copy of the consumer court paper by post to pune.. this is absurd... screw bajaj. the whole bike is rattling like a rattlesnake as if the bike would fall apart. Clutch has become a 2 stage one. Till half its smooth then a pause and rest half is hard, mileage dropped to 15-16 kmpl, 5th gear makes a shhaawwwwwwwwwwwwww type of electro-magnetic sound from day one and now after 1 year 10 days and 18k kms, its still not rectified. Getting fed-up now. Someone please confirm me fast if the head seals are im warranty or not bike is in svc for three days for a simple work

Even i am having oil leak on the head, my bike has done around 4500 odo and it started at 3500 odo something..
i took it to them and they removed the tank and the head and applied some paste on it and sealed it back in.. Now no more oil leak.
but after digging and talking about the issue with my friends and mech, they say tat the gasket should be replaced as your bike is new. Applying paste is just a temp fix..

Am taking it back again to get the gasket replaced at the main service center.. As my bike is in warranty, i want to get the part replaced than getting it fixed...

Also the front fork is kinda making tap noise when i drive in a pot hole or a speed breaker...

If one problem gets solved, the other one rise from no where

Anyways i have changed my engine oil from motul 7100 after using twice to petronas syntium And my goodness....what a difference.... i will never again will use motul after this.... never. Amd to top it all, it costs half the price of a motul 7100 amd works much much way better than 7100...amd its still s semi-synthetic. This oil really compliments the ns. Few duke owners here also changed to this from motul and all are ready to dump motul in favour of this. And btw i bought 4 bottles because i was getting 1 litre petrol free with every litre of this oil as an offer.. so i got 4 litres free effective cost was 316 rs per litre :-P

Exactly man.... i have learnt to deal with the maintainance amd rectifying stuffs myself but some things cannot be done at home. Its a real pity that just because of the aftersales service such a wonderful product is getting doomed. Every showroom and svc here are saying that ms will be discontinued.... now if its true, i better sell mine before aam admi gets to know it for better re sale.... do let me know what solution they give to your leakage. They said of late lot of ns are coming with leaking head

Why should i promote petronas when i have a tie-up with motul for naked wolves kolkata for sponsorship. I just said the truth... me ad two other members changed it together and all have the same feeling... muc better response from engine, revving freely than with 7100, much smoother engine. All at half price. Amd well one bike has already run 3.2 with the oil and its staring to thin up after 3k kms. So far very positive. Drain interval is less than 7100 but in the same time it costs half and you cam give your engine fresh oil often.... and regaring the free petrol, it was a promotional offer from petronas to few biking clubs to try out their products as it lauched just a month ago. Petronas was here earlier also but they were using sprinta brand back then... the new ones are really good...

The mrp is 430 but selling price is 380.... but when the petrol offer was on i was charged 316 so they were actually selling it for 400 then considering petrol was 84 in kolkata. And not sure if the same can be availed in delhi:-)
