Firstly, congrats 2ndly we want pics of the black white dual tone.Originally posted by rahul NS View Posti got my new pulsar 200NS 5 days ago.. black n white dual tone!! it's jus that i drove abt 75 kms and the coolant is almost at mimimum level... is this natural or need to be taken care of.. and my street has been recently dug for some purpose and it's abt 2-3 kms long... during this time i can't go above 2nd gear n speed will go upto 20 kmph.. the engine heats up alot!! and during normal conditions it's ok.. is this normal??
Now, check the coolant level by holding the bike upright, leaning it on the side stand will show coolant near minimum level. Riding the bike in 2nd gear for long will definitely heat up the engine it is normal.I am loving my NS

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Guys thanks for your replies about my query, just an update on the issue, today I tried to push the bike in fifth gear and it easily reached 120kmph but as soon as I shifted to sixth gear the rpm started coming down and settled at around 6.5k and speed around 85kmph.
Just wanted to know that is it still the issue with diaphragm in carburetor or something else as the bike is okay in fifth gear and problematic in sixth.

Congrats dude:thumbup:
Just want to know about handlebars, whether they are of glossy finish or mat? Cuz the NS launched in Indonesia had mat finish handlebars which is actually good as the paint starts to fade off.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Update
Bike has crossed 2100 kms on odo. Till 1700 kms I rode it mostly under 4k, sometimes till 5k and a few short burt till 6k. Engine Oil was changed at 1st service at 6xx kms. Fuel efficiency till now has been 45+ ( 44, 48, and 47 on three tankfulls) on mix riding conditions as mentioned above.
Did a solo trip of 350 kms on last sunday. And rode it in rpm ranges varying from 4 to 5.5k mostly till 1900 kms. While returning it was mostly ridden in 5 to 6.5k rpm. Didn't crossed 100kmph (was not sure whether I should cross or not).
On highway bike felt pretty smooth till 70 kmph with minimal vibrations. Post 70 vibration starts creeping up and by 80 kmph they make their presence felt ( nothing like unbearable but they are there). Soon I will post ownership experience and the travalouge. (Waiting to engine to open up a bit more).
Some pics of the trip.

No helmet
Dont jump on me I had them with me

Some querries.
1. Since I have completed the run in and I have mentioned above how I have handled the engine till now pls suggest how to open up the engine now. Pls suggest details like till what rpm in which gear.
2. Should I take the bike in higher rpm (5k) in 1st/2nd gear? I have already did it a few times.
3. Going above 4k/5k rpm does not feel smooth till 3rd gear, 5th and 6th feels smooth in doing so. 4th is like transition gear.
I am now keeping the rev over 4k rpm(change gears around 5k) in 3rd gear onwards. Is it alright to do so?

Didn't want even the slightest of mods for bigger tyres hence stuck to stock sizes.
By the time I got the tyres changed, I'd clocked 270 kms and both TVS tyres went for a measly 1.5k, !!
Initial impression of new tyres - better grip, better braking and increase in confidence
will reserve further comments because they may be made under the influence of placebo effect - also, would like the new tyre's to bed-in and have a few kms before I post anything in detail.
Pics - will upload them - however, due to dual huggers there isn't a major visual difference.

Tags and stickers are still intact..if interested let me know..
Price is 6000rs..
Too low on vitamin M - will buy after I get paid next month - will give you a shout in case I go for Helios !
Got the helmet delivered yesterday sans clear visor even after repeated requests to ship both together
They will dispatch clear visor today.
Now, the helmet's fit and finish didn't impress me much - its just OK - the visor has silver/chrome tint and on day 01 itself the coating is coming off like glitter flakes - though minor it's still something as a customer I didn't want to see. At least its DOT and ISI, has decent livery and costed 2.4k is the only saving grace.
Would keep this as a second lid and get a good one later when budget permits.
So true, asked for main stand on delivery day - no stock - requested one and was told you'd receive a call soon when its in stock - no call so far in 08 days. Not having the main stand while upgrading tyres yesterday was cumbersome and irritating.Originally posted by deep007 View Post8.install main stand as soon as possible because it takes lot of time it fit it after u take u r bike...
Even I've had this noise from rear disc from day 02 onwards...thought it'd go on its own as it's all new and that parts are bedding in - will get it checked ASAP - as it seems to be a design/quality flaw.Originally posted by deep007 View Post9.disk break noise especially in the back disk get it solved on the same day (this is the main problem all the guys faced)i think that it is manufacturing defect.Last edited by Mr.Officer; 11-27-2013, 06:10 PM.Never argue with a fool, for he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Personally, the way ns body flow is designed ,only single colours suits the bike most, never liked Indonesian nor the BW scheme ns, it should be single coloured ,that way the bike looks awesome
Congo on the new colour by the way

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I am really surprised how you managed to keep this rev hungry machine below 4-5k rpm. Still its good that you have followed the instructions. In my case i revved my bike hard on the first day of purchase till 6-7 k rpm in first 3 gears( I don't recommend this, it was my personal decision ). I don't think you should baby your bike any more. Do the following.Originally posted by skv View PostUpdate

Idle for a minute then ride for 2-3 km like a splender and then rev it hard on first 4 gears till 8k rpm and then use engine braking to slow down. You can use 9k rpm on the next ride. I am no engine opening up expert but i was using 6-7-8-9k rpm on successive rides and results are good so far ( only 1200 km on odo). Happy riding

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Minutes after 1st service and 675kms ,I stopped looking on console ,from then ,I going 0-60 in 4-5sec everywhere and getting 30 ,I couldn't resist myself more after 1st service and thought to hell with run in and mileage.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Right now ns200 is enjoying monopoly in its segment. According to me its not having any kinda competition in market. If you have some time then you can wait for auto expo, may be you can get some other options in 200cc segment...Originally posted by sarvodaya View PostMy Suzuki GS 150 Completed 97,000 KMS. I am in mind to change my bike by March 2014. I have narrowed to two bikes as of now. Apache 180 ABS and Pulsar 200 NS. Can Pulsar 200 Owners tell me about the cost of the following:
Front and Rear Brake Pads, Brake Fluid, Air Filter, Oil Filter, Spark Plug (All three), Chain Sprocket Set, Engine Oil, Clutch Cable.
I am assuming this because hero has some products lined up for auto expo and same can be the case with honda, mahindra, tvs, yamaha and suzuki...sigpic
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith and use up a lot of fuel....

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
At least you stopped till first service, i am revving my bike from the first day of purchase and getting 38 km/lt with a lot of hill riding ( occasionally use rpm higher than 8k).Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostMinutes after 1st service and 675kms ,I stopped looking on console ,from then ,I going 0-60 in 4-5sec everywhere and getting 30 ,I couldn't resist myself more after 1st service and thought to hell with run in and mileage.

Same here, mostly using high rpm after 400 kms on the odo. Frequent redlining on open roads and still the bike returned 39 kmpl in last refill, i am loving this bikeOriginally posted by Newrider88 View PostAt least you stopped till first service, i am revving my bike from the first day of purchase and getting 38 km/lt with a lot of hill riding ( occasionally use rpm higher than 8k).
