  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS

I never measured my mileage, just had a approximation 2months back that my bike ran 200km or something in 500 bucks petrol ,so cannot tell exact figures and I don't care for them either ,low or high ,you cannot do anything
Regarding fazrr visor, maybe helpful for tourers, but then again ,naked bikes are best enjoyed within city limits and personally the headlight assembly along with visor is the pinnacle of designing I've seen in a sub 8lac bikes (my POW) ,and I don't wanna ruin that
Its more than 4 months and I've covered only 1885km ,no problem faced till yet no vibes nothing ,just rear disc brake noise in initial days (upt0 50km)

Even i don't care about mileage, no one buys NS for fuel efficiency but mileage is an engine health indicator so i approximated it with no. of liters i filled and km traveled. My bike is also flawless with a minor issue of rear disc noise which got rectified during my last svc visit. Lets see if it comes back or not.
@RahulNS , yes, bajaj has stopped the production of yellow, blue and red color.
        I am loving my NS

Went to repair cum service today .
            Parts changed
            CENTRE STAND 542
            1.RH SILVER HANDLE BAR 366
            2.RH FAIRING 208
            3.RH LEG GUARD 109
            4.Bolts 20
            5.Labour 150
            6.FORK ALIGNMENT 500
            Total 2070 rupees
            2% OF TOTAL BIKE COST
Took 4 hours and Three mechanics to work with, whole svc was empty and only my ns was getting repaired/ serviced
Every bolt every nut was checked ,cleaned ,tightened(took 2 hours)
Now ,I must say FEELS LIKE A ENTIRELY NEW BIKE, acceleration is like 10% increased, stability has increased, cornering ,and the feel you get while riding ,IT HAS TOTALLY CHANGED .
            Most Imp. Point
NO VIBES IN 4-5.5 RPM RANGE NOW( I don't know wtf happened there ,although I monitored every work for 4 hours continuously) ,
Overall bike is now par with honda quality ,only regret is 2070 rupees got wasted because a lady didn't folking knew how to cross a road.

Since everybody is measuring fuel consumptions...so after more than 11000 kms on the odo.... I checked the mileage of my P200 NS today and it returned 39.xx kms per litre with 65% highway riding and 35% hill riding with highway speeds 80-90 kmph. Good.

I have never touched any highway on my ns, and it ain't a possibility ever (unless I go for touring) my riding is like vroom stop vroom kinda, totally like chandni chowk ki galia (streets) ,so consumption will be also greater than anyone here.
Guys what is the max weight capacity of ns

Went for 2nd paid service @16,300 kms on odo. Parts replaced:
                    - Air Filter
                    - Oil Filter
                    - Engine Oil - Motul SS 20W50
                    - Fork Oil
                    - Spark Plugs (not the main one)
                    - Service cost 1370 INR
Some niggles & glitches were also rectified, there was a thudd noise from handle bar assly at every breaker and pothole.
Have gone for Motul for the first time from DTS-i. Engine feels crisp & smoother with every km passing by, though will get to know it better in a long run.

And as everyone here is talking about FE, never actually measured it though but my humble machine is returning around 35-40 kmpl on full tank basis with 60:40 highway to city riding which seems pretty decent for the high revving I do at times.

A very small but irritating issue I am facing and would like to have comment from you guys. My rear tyre hugger which was installed in last servicing for rains has been tightened so badly that it is not coming out. Allen bolts have lost their grip, svc has even tried hammering it usnig a screw driver but hard luck. Pl. If someone can suggest something.

With all that said, bike has never stopped to amuse me even after a year with all the grunt and power packed in it. Though its just a 200 cc bike but the its my first and I am happy with what I invested in.

Odo is total kms travelled from day 1.
Trip 1 and trip two are basically meant to calculate distance of individual trips you make. Leave trip one for calculating kms covered on one full tank

Same happened with one nut of my tyre hugger yesterday ,bit the skillfull mechanic used screw driver and hammer in such a way that first he created a straight gap in the head (like in normal screws) and then he hammered at 90 degree angles precisely ,nut came out enough to be rotated via hands

See the cut made ny striking ,now after this cut has been made ,keep screw driver on it and strike it via hammer tangentially to the bolt.

Thanks. Will try the same myself. Though my mechanic tried flattening the bolt head using hammer & screwdriver so as to unscrew it using a plier but was unsuccessful.

^^If I may, get a can of WD-40 or Zorrik from a local hardware store - 80-90 bucks
and save yourself some trouble - in case the screws still don't budge then try the suggestion made above.

                                Hope it helps !!
