I'm Fed up with NS. I made a bad decision in buying the bike. Should have waited for some other bike
P.S. I never had any problems with my 220 or my former Xtreme

In these 10 days, I must have gone to SVC more than 10 times.

Note: I'm not saying all NS are bad, but 3 to 4 bike out of 10 are. My friend who bought a red NS on the same day as me have the same problem with tons of other problems

I bought my bike on 11-11-13
Gave for 1st service on 19-11(650kms)

The one n only problem is Bike swaying to left side,

    1. Done 1st service on 19th itself n they said they repaired the problem, which they lied to me. I test drove my bike n gave back since they didnt repair it

    2. on 20th- they said the bike is repaired, I went to SVC n test drove. Still no!!

    3. 21st, ie today- they removed fork n check the alignment n gave my bike back saying its repaired. Still the problem exists. Also tried removing front wheel(alloy+wheel) n replacing from another NS. Problem still exist

    4. they narrowed the problem to rear alloy. They said to come tomorrow ie 22nd, they will try replacing rear wheel n check the problem exists or not.

The service head is a good man. He bared with me with all problems, but all others are intolerant fools

Hoping tomorrow would be a good day n I get back my NS problem free
i had same issue with my Pulsar 180 when i bought it in 2010 and no one at service center use to belive me. but finally the problem boiled down to low tyre pressure and the cone set which was worn out and loose. got it changed and from than on there was no problem. So do get your cone set checked out by good mechanics.

My tyre pressure is adequate..Cone set- may be that would be the problem(the problem started from the day I bought the bike). The mechanic even tried replacing the rear wheel from a new NS. Don't know if they changed the cone-set. But the problem existed.

oil filter - 100 ( i think it is somethimg below Rs 80/-)
coolant top up - 100 ( i saw it later, my coolant level is alright. But still is Rs 100 justified?)
chain cleaning - 300 ( I told them not to clean)

pls let me know what should be the correct cost for part/services/oil. I am not going to pay them any extra money.
The best bet would be to get the bike back and pay them. Either wait for a follow up call from the service centre or write an email to the regional manager. An easy fix would be to ask for feedback form from them and write down your findings there. Cheers mate.

Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.

I have a weird problem...nothing major though but irritating. I recently had been on a 260km trip after which the bike was under covers not started for 5 days..today when i start my bike and i blip the throttle i hear an insect chirping type of sound from near the console handlebar area.On close inspectiong and reving the throttle slowly on neutral it starts at 2.6k rpm and stops after 3k rpm and after leaving the throttle the sound comes again before needle touches 1.5k at idle. The sound is very irritating in city in stop and go traffic. Any idea what it is. I thought keychain in touch with the handle bar but after lifting the keychain and revving same sound.Kept the rpm glass pressed suspecting console but the sound is there.

The bike is 3k kms old

Will these sizes have “any negative” effect on Bike’s handling ?

              B) For front I’d like to keep stock size 100/80 17 – in a softer compound.

              C) Switching to MRF REV z – would this be a worthy upgrade? OR shall I look for PSD’s or Michelin Pilot Sporty

              Many Thanks

              2. Front tyre- Michelin m45(not sure about the exact model)

Yet to get a bad report on mrf revz, safest & best option.

From last week onwards I installed MRF RevZ S, didnt change the front tyre though. Driven 400kms in it, now odo reading 800kms
Well, I gotta say its far faar better than stock, gives you peace of mind on hard braking

Il say Going for MRF Rev zS is the best option. Bang for the buck. I bought it for 2.6k - size/model please

P.S Dont know much about front tyres, As I find there is no need to upgrade it.

I thank you for taking out time and posting rapid replies. appreciate it !

Apologies, for a confusing post above: A) Getting 2.2k for both front and rear tires. B) Stock size for front but DEFINITELY no TVS Euro-grip

              Conclusion -

              Going for REVz either UP-SIZED 140/60 17 or 150/60 17 - REAR
Going For Michelin Pilot Sporty - 100/80 17 - FRONT

              Cheers

^^Yep it does...surprisingly they have other models too which look exactly like LS2

Gloves and Jacket - still searching !

Prolly will go to a few shops listed here in person and decide, for now using casual jackets and a pair of gloves I picked from Manali [super warm] but not suitable for riding bikes - no tactical feel at all !

Recently I'm facing an irritating (this is the first time this is happening on my NS) and somewhat dangerous issue on the NS.

I had some repairs done on the NS some time back and since the time I got the bike back, I'm having some issues -

                            1) There's a slight lag in throttle response (a fraction of a second, but it's noticeable). This happens specially when I crack open the throttle.

                            2) Cold starts have become terrible. 4-5 cranks or may be more. Last year during the winters this was certainly not the case.

                            3) The engine would just shut off abruptly during the first few km of cranking it for the first time after a long halt (say when I crank the engine for the first time in the Day or after office). There have been many occasions when the engine has shut off even after 3-4 km of travel. I would suppose that engine has got to it's optimum temp by this time, and should not shut off like this but it still does. A couple of times it has happened that I was taking a turn and the engine shut off (was quite an uncomfortable situation)

                            4) After ride, I'm generally smelling smoke from around the exhaust. I've revved the bike at idle and not much visible smoke is coming out till say 7k rpms. Post that I can see mild smoke (black smoke)

I'm guessing that this is an engine tuning issue, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would be taking the bike to service soon, but wanted an educated opinion before I take the bike for service.

                            My own thoughts - Throttle

Looks like a really bad tune or some carb issue. What is the current FE you are getting and how would you say the initial pull and high end pull is ? not talking about wide open throttle. but just some spirited revving.

                                Hello NSians.
I am upgrading from pulsar 150 2004 model 112000 kms done to PULSAR 200 NS tommorow. So I just wanted to know points that I have to keep in mind while getting delivery of my bike. I know that it has been posted many times before but I'm unable to find the points so please someone help me.
And I will be changing the rear tyre to Duke's rear tyre .
As it is a soft compound Tyre so will it have more punctures ?
