cool man... according to you we all are fools... and k&n company is riding us...Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Poststop living in dreamland...wake up and live a practical life...forget whats written in k&n website... Companies are here to make business and profit...bajaj clamis 10000kms for the engine oil so why dont you run your bike on dtsi oil for 10000kms... You want k&n, you use it, but dont misguide others...you are most welcomed to screw your ride...
Sayank bro no need telling someone who dont want to learn from mistakes

@Sayank bro :"Never argue with an idiot , He will drag you down to his level and beat you down with experience"
BTW guys , I got my NS last week
Everything's been awesome. But I had a bad experience when I was standing in queue for registration (at RTO) , One of my friends who came with me was sitting on the bike , he thought the side stand was on and got off the bike . The bike fell onto a red 200 NS which was sitting beside mine (mine is yellow) , and that red one fell onto a Fazer and that Fazer onto an Auto Rickshaw. Luckily nothing happened to the other bikes , but my left RVM was broken , After registration I took it to the SVC immediately and changed it. Pictures are coming up soon. oh and one more query , I can't turn on the headlights without starting the engine , Is this normal ?

@Manz :1. If you look at the flow of air into an engine, there are usually other bottlenecks before or after the air filter that keep the engine from breathing optimally and changing the air filter to a higher flow filter will do nothing to change the other bottlenecks.
2. if indeed you do open up some flow with the K&N, you will have to change other aspects of the intake system, the carbs/throttle bodies, and/or the exhaust system to keep a balanced power delivery. This can be expensive and is largely hit or miss. You've got to keep trying things to get it all right and is best done with the help of a gas analyser and a dyno - all of which are expensive. It's cheaper to buy a GSXR or even an R1
.
3. the K&N indeed flows more air over the stock filter. How do you think it does that? It does it by having larger holes in it's fabric. Larger holes mean more and larger particles of dirt flow through. K&N's work best when the oil you put on them has attracted and stuck a lot of dirt - which in the early part of the cleaning cycle allows more dirt to flow through into the engine and in the latter parts of the cleaning cycle to restrict air flow. Neither is the best solution to me.
K&N work well for bikes on a race course where they can indeed improve your bikes power delivery in conjunction with other changes and since you are racing, you aren't as concerned with the longevity of the engine.
Dude , If you don't do jetting , you wont get any power increase . And even if you do it , you will hardly gain 1 bhp on an Indian bike.. +edit : Do what ever you want N00b , don't spread incomplete knowledge.NS already offers enough power for Indian roads and traffic , If you want to be a joker in front of everyone , be my guest .Last edited by paradox; 09-08-2012, 02:19 PM.~::.Outrun By No-One.::~

exactly man.... I dont get what try to say they got power increase by a stupid cone filter...and 1bhp increase? It will be .1 bhp i guess... A k&n will make the engine even more peaky.... And no matter what the company says k&n attracts lot more dust inside the engine... People who think k&n gives increased protection, just open you engine and see the condition...fact is k&n works because of the filter oil and it has to be lubed regularly to keep it working... Better to use the stock filter and clean them with water...safe and cost effective... And manz, just forget what the company saysOriginally posted by paradox View Post@Manz :1. Looks superb Bro...Originally posted by J K View PostDone matt black strip through tank.!!

But have a look at the Exhaust right below the engine..The dust pattern. Looks like there might be some leakeage of engine oil. Just check out once.
BTW, did u adjust the AFR?? What's the result?
Congrats friend..Originally posted by paradox View PostI can't turn on the headlights without starting the engine , Is this normal ?
And NO, you can't turn on the Headlight without starting the engine. Even you cant light on the pilots.. Done to save the battery.. But the Pilots and the instrument cluster going off with the engine kill switch is really a bad feature..sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"
