Nice pics. Loved all them especially the one with the bird.
I see a lot of bikes have pulsar written on their rims along with the rim tapes.
Is that a sticker and is it custom made or available along with rim tapes.

Well yesterday my frn got an extra horn. Total cost 200, 150(horn) & 50(mechanic). He didn't remove the stock horn, just added another Bajaj Pulsar Horn. The sound was pretty loud enough, my suggestion would be to do the same thing.Originally posted by zeph_syk View PostHi Guys, I just found a rash (like something has been scratched) just beside the rear seat (don't know who did it), and its looking bad
it has just been 2 days me getting this bike, i am deeply saddened.
Please suggest if there is any way, i can color it ( blue) or what to use, so that the scratch is not that apparent?
Secondly, i wanted to replace the horn, can anyone guide me which Horn to use, and if we can swap the new horn in the same place as the old horn?
Thanks a lot for your help guys, hope some can help me out in this
Cheers!
As for the warranty thing even I am not sure

Got the first service done at 520km yesterday from Dewan Motors SVC Nr. Okhala.
They have a different section for bikes like Duke, Ninja, Pulsar 220 and the NS. I dealt with Mr. S. Chaudhary, soft spoken person. Since this was my first service so he explained what all is normally done with this bike - changing of engine oil and oil filter, cleaning and lubing of chain, adjustment of chain slack and radiator fans.
For engine oil change he gave me the option the Normal DTSi oil (Rs.370) and Motul Synthetic oil (Rs.780) and recommended that i go for the synthetic one as it has more viscosity (as per him), but I asked him to put the DTSi oil for the moment and next time i shall go for the Synthetic oil once my bikes crosses 2500 km.
He asked if wanted to get a Teflon coating done, i said no.
My bike did not have any issues except the Left RVM being loose. Got that adjusted.
The rear shock was set at 2nd softest position, got it adjusted to 4th softest setting. The bike now is a bit more stiff in the rear section.
Coolant was topped up.
I could stand next to the bike during service. But i did not see or remember the air filter being cleaned. Where exactly is it located? couldnt find it in the owners manual.
The chain was cleaned using some kind of oil - i guess it was kerosene. and was lubed using a substance similar to WD-40. They do not use any specific Chain lube like OKS as is shown in the manual.
Breakup of the invoice (words as described in the invoice)
LABOUR DETAILS
Coupon Service - Rs.75
Synthetic Lubrication - Rs.100
Chain Wash - Rs.100
Labour Total = Rs.275
Service tax 12.36% on 275 = Rs.33.99
Labour Total = Rs.308.99
PARTS DETAILS
20W50 Engine oil - Rs.370
Oil Filter - Rs.74
VAT 20% on 370 = Rs.74
VAT 12.5% on 74 = Rs.9.25
Parts Total = Rs.527.25
MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES
Coupon reimbursement (-) = Rs.75
Miscellaneous Total = Rs. -75
Rounded off = -0.24
INVOICE VALUE = RS. 761.00
P.S. - Also saw the Ninja 650 yesterday as it had come for an oil change. Amazing bike. Killer looks. Metallic lime green colour. Fattest tire (front and rear) i have ever seen. Engine sound is pure music for the ears.
The only one negative was a huge saree guard covering the entire left rear portion (from top to bottom). To fit that even the left rear grab rail was removed.Last edited by sunilyo; 09-10-2012, 01:17 PM.

What and how exactly to do that, dude?? Could you please elaborate??Originally posted by antz.bin View PostFor false neutrals, adjust clutch cable.
Its "False neutral", thats I am pretty. @Shibadip has explained below what exactly it it. I have observed that the gear actually gets stuck between neutral and second gear while shifting up from first to second. I can feel its past neutral (half step from 1st) and they stuck after that. A little push upwards and it engages to 2nd. No neutral indicator when it is stuck, which clearly shows its false neutral and not true neutral. For me sometimes due to lazy shift it gets stuck in true neutral but then neutral indicator goes flashing.Originally posted by payeng View Post2nd to 1st..?? Isn't it the "Neutral" and not false neutral.
You are probably saying that "you want to shift to 1st but the gears gets slotted into neutral instead of shifting to 1st".
I have been facing this issue from day 1 bro. Its embarrassing when your are in front row on a signal and this thing happens while taking off..Originally posted by Shibadip View PostYa kind of what u are saying.. But If it actually slots to Neutral, Then the green "N" sign should glow up. Right..
But it doesn't glow, Thereby giving me the impression that the gear is slotted to the 1st position.
Also when u understand that it's just stuck at neutral, then applying more pressure dosen't make it slot to the 1st position. I have to move the bike a liitle bit forward by applying physical force, and then the gear perfectly slots to the 1st position. (I came to know this trick, from my P150 experience.
) But you see, it dosen't seem to be all that simple when the cars behind keeps on honking as if they need to rush to the hospital to see their new-born child

Only thing is I push it up to go to 2nd rather than going back to 1st.
@All:
My NS is done with her 1st service on last Saturday. It was on ODO 834km. I went to Sai services, Paud Phata. I told him all the issues I am facing:
1. Rear brake response not prompt: He tighten it.
2. Engine sounds kat-kat-kat over 3000rpm, may be tappet sound: It has actually increased now and engine more harsh. Have to go back to get it rectified.
3. Asked to increase idling rpm: Its not done.
4. Asked to adjust rear mirror. Its not done either, only he tighten the mirrors.
5. Looks like he poured used engine oil on chain. Its all sticky and oil sprays all over the alloys etc.
6. No oil change as i told him i changed oil @400km. He didnt make any fuss. Only changed oil filter.
7. Fitting of indicator buzz. 100 bucks.
8. Bike is not washed properly. Dirt on bottom of engine, inside of mudguards not washed.
9. Told about gear issue while going up from 1st to 2nd, seems nothing is done as i didnt feel any change.
Overall, the bike was smooth after service but it all went back to normal after few kms.
Total expense: 226 Rs = 67 for oil filter + 100 for indicator buzz + rest (don't remember)
He had no issue regarding watching the bike getting serviced. Thats a plus, but I couldn't be there as there was long que of bikes and was not sure how much time will it take for my NS to go on service bay.
I will have to go back to svc to check about the engine harshness, gear shift - false neutrals (hope he knows what to do).
PS: Did motomax dashboard polish to all vinyl parts. It really makes difference, easy to apply. It beads water well. Removing dirt is easy. And the black parts get a kind of gloss. The polish claims to have UV protection. Its 90 bucks for 100ml.
Couldn't get 3M liquid wax polish. Went to 3M car care@Baner and JM, Carex balewadi. The baner guy haven't even heard of such product
. They have Meguires products. Its polish costs whopping 820 bucks
. I would rather buy Collinite 845
. Gonna try waxpol carnauba wax now. ArmorAll is also costly. Saw Formula1 polishes (big yellow containers 320/-) but they had abrasive in them so didn't buy.
Also trying to find OKS chain spray. Anyone knows any place in pune where I can get it??Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Labour charges are too much bro..it is supposed to be free in first service..however they will add some miscellaneous charges but i guess your bill should not have incrreased more than Rs600..most of us got the first service done within Rs 600...Originally posted by sunilyo View PostGot the first service done at 520km yesterday .....

Even i saw Ninja650 when i went for service..bike looks superb and huge although as you said Huge saree guard was simply a put off..totally unnecessary...took away all the beauty of the bike...

Well there seems to be issues with bike for almost everyone now & these SVC ppl are useless as usual. I request all the riders to be little more hard on SVC manager. We paid 1l for bike, not a small amount.
Now they are ripping off in service
