So here I have attached some snaps taken since the projector has been fit. Truly i wish every our NS owners should own it. It really made a lot of difference, impressions and attractions. It changed the NS looks (grabbed many eyes, esp the angel eye). Hoping to test it on long rides at country sides soon.

Hi, guys...!!! Have been longing ever since I got my NS, I'd always wanted to change two things first horn and then headlight. So after second service, I took that as a change and headed toward "Puthupettai", in Chennai which is very popular for automobile spare parts. It's about 18KMs from my residence. I reached by 10:30 AM, as I thought on Sunday most shops would've been closed, but to my surprise, they were all open and could see many flocks of bikes, ranging from scooty to Activa and splendor to R15 and Dukes. However the shops are very small, but they have a huge stock and the guys are expert in these. I located a shop which was a bit popular. They had many varieties of headlamps with HID projectors, LED Lens projectors. I was shocked, because they have even for 800/- and 4500/-. I asked the difference, they said either the product quality and based on the luminance price increases. He opened every pack and was so generous in testing it all for my visuals, man so many colors it comes from (rings), I saw Red, blue, green, yellow, white and some. I opted for blue (LED projector HD08, devil eye) though my bike was red-black, because red often is used for indication of stop or alert which I didn't want to add as pilot lamp. It cost 2200/- and the fitting charges of 350/- is standard it seems. I didn't fix the price at the time. Some even came with HIDs and asked for just fitting. Then came the headache, the dismantle of the dashboard. The entire dashboard had to be dismantled which took him lot of time and patience, though he looked like an expert. Post that, it was given to another shop for cutting\fitting the doom for the projector lens. It took more than an hour as in the meanwhile there were so many who even were asking HID projectors for their Activa and Dio . Out of the groups, I could see more P220 and P180, some R15s and I was the only guy having NS . About 2 hours and the area got crowded and almost I got lost in the front of the shop. Later came a guy with Duke390 for HID, guys it took hardly 5 mins to dismantle the head assemble. Because of their console not embedded into the headlight assembly it was quiet easy for them to remove. I had to curse myself...!!

It was afternoon 2:00pm almost, they came back to my bike to fix the lamp. But to fix that it took almost 30 mins, as it was very delicate and needed more care. I asked him to not to connect the flashing and the devil\angel (whatever they call ) eye option (wire, simply) because I didn't need either the flashing for pass light which I can do it manually (pass switch) or the devil's eye which didn't please me. To fit the ballast and the other wiring, it was a bit messy. I definitely wouldn't have agreed for these if it was a brand new. On the other side, the Duke390 appeared brand new and that guy was much worried about each and every screwing\descrewing . Finally the horns which ranged from normal single tones to even some movie theme musics as well. He showed the skoda type tone horn (cost 400/-), it was very loud and I didn't like it as it didn't appear to fit for my ns character, so finally with a local low frequency horn (200/-, not from roots) than what on stock to create a dual-tone. it sounded a bit different, but I liked it. He didn't find proper place to fit that, as I asked him not to fit on the bumpers. Total cost 2500/- (Headlight+horn+fitting), could have bargained still but I already was exhausted. Couldn't believe they even accept Visa\Mastercards.

The plus point of this type of fit is that the original halogen bulb can be refit into the same assembly and can be used for claiming warranty. However, to remove or replace the headlight with a new HID\LED proj, the entire bore some and a bit risky process has to be redone. FYI, the prices we see online for all the lights and other accessories are pretty cheaper here. All we need is a day's patience and a good shop.

I asked about fitting wind shield which I keep pressing everytime in this forum, driving >100kph seems almost impossible due to wind. They asked me to get AS200 wind shield from service if possible as they have not gotten the spares yet. But they showed the concern of the cheap and soft type built plastic casing of 200NS (where wind shield fits). I dropped the plans and drove back home.
Now that I have enough light to lit the entire parking area in my residence . Any guys in chennai, if would like to fit these or need info, can contact me.

Hi all...recently on a drive my rear disc brake suddenly went loose...had to pump the brake pedal 15~20 times before I got my brakes back...this is the second time it occurred....
Problem started after a botched chain sprocket replacement job by SVC in Vizag...my rear brakes locked up after the job and disc became red hot metal...had to bleed the valve to allow the wheel to get freed up...fumes of the brake oil came out when I bled it...
Took it back to SVC where he did something(didn't see) and got my brakes working again until this loss of rear disc brake incident....
FYI I topped up the oil after the sprocket job...
Can anyone help me out here?

Hey the projectors work without any need for engine to run. All it needs is the ignition key to turn on. The HID works irrespective of either the engine turned on or kill switch on, that's why I'm worried, if not careful it will drain the battery....

guys I have the AS 200, done about 1.1k kms on it. For this engine, when you do you guys suggest a shift to Semi Synth oil ?

Currently running on Bajaj oil, and everyone knows how great that is.

Bajaj oil is great for running in the engine, let it be.

Ok, since I have done over 1K kms, I am taking the bike to around 6K - 6.5K rpm quite often. Hope thats not too much load too early for it ?

No issues at all. Just don't go aggressive as soon as you start the bike

Congratulations on buying AS200. I envy that machine for two things Projector and wind shield. Out of that I've fixed projectors, but not able to fix the wind shields . Anyway, change to other brands engine oil after your second service. Also make sure to get a mutual understanding with svc guys. At some places they don't agree for this and might void ur warranty.

Maintain 4-5k RPM till 2000 or till the time when u feel the engine feels like yummy yummy...!!! and not roaring... Progressively u can increase speed. At least avoid high RPM in lowest gears
