  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

My bike is ~1000 km old and still running on Bajaj engine oil. First service done at 550 kms. Since 200 km mark, I am experiencing vibrations exactly at 30 km/hr mark while slowing down. Vibrations can be felt at handlebar, footrest.... everywhere. No vibration observed when clutch is applied during slow down. Told this to Bajaj mechanic and he said everything will be fine after first service. It was Ok for a while but now again I am facing the same issue.

I remember someone discussing same issue on this thread but couldnt find the same discussion. Anyone have a comment?

    • Rouser (Pulsar) 200 NS questions.

Hello, this is my first post, I do hope I am putting it where it will be appropriate. My name is john an American living in the Philippines.

I have owned three Rousers, 220, 180, and now the 200 NS. The 200 NS import to the Philippines has this device that to my eye looks like a pressure equalization valve between the intake manifold and the airbox, I also noticed it is not on the native Indian 200 NS, at least pictures I have seen. It is stamped with UCAL which tells me it has something to do with the Carb, it has no electronics or wires connected to it. So my only assumption that it some how augments the constant velocity carb for either fuel consumption or performance reasons. Does anyone know what it is precisely?

I guess, you can just ignore it and enjoy the bike, even my bike has a buzz when it crosses 78km/hr and its there till 85km/hr.

Dude, why would you ignore such abnormal vibration in a 1 lakh bike. 30-80 km/hr is where we ride 90% of the city driving. iIf its not a common occurrence in all NS then it must be fixed.

Its not a big deal for me, cause the RPM range at which it occurs is small, plus i'm sure its not an engine issue. For you it might be due to Carb tuning or chain being too tight. Check those.

Hi friends I have an query. Mine is 8 months old and clocked 5500 km. I have found the clutch is very hard and acceleration also not so smooth. I have done service regularly and used motu 7100. Can anybody help? I feel very uncomfortable when riding in traffic I have to shift up and shift down regularly. Because of non smooth acceleration.

                Hi Guys!

                Need a help!

My bike has covered 57k so far.

                Problems I face:

                1. Low Pickup
                2. Front wheel wobbling. (Thinking it may be a problem with Cone Set)
                3. Gear shifts are hard and multiple False neutral

Need your suggestion about what I should be aware of about the service as I have covered more than 50k Kms now.

                Kindly share your views/suggestions

                Thanks in Advance

                Safe riding!

                  1. Dude ,you are looking at massive expense of reboring, clutch plate frictional plate change ,possible chainset+sprocket change, conset change ,alignment test ,various wire change ,airfilter change etc etc
You have 57k done ,its all normal .

Low pickup - Can be due to worn out clutch plates. If that is ok, then get compression test done at service centre. If compression is less then you might need to change the piston rings.

Bajaj does not rebores the engine if required, you need to buy new cylinder kit. (mostly it wont be needed first check the above mentioned things)

Gear shifting prob - should be badly adjusted clutch. Get it corrected and it will be fine

Wobbling problem - check the condition of the cone set, change if required. Check the condition of the front tyre, change if required. Check alignment issues, correct if required at service centre

The accelerator cable is not moving freely, probably needs to be routed properly. SVC should be able to solve it.

wobbling is due to play in wheel bearings
change the wheel bearings nd it'l b as good as new

if compression is low donot only change the piston kit or get a new block
get it rebored and run it in well
you will get atleast 10% power increase
