  • Guess my first service was not as problematic when I had it done at 300 odd kilometers. I took my NS to the svc to check the roughness of the engine and they changed the engine oil and oil filter for Rs.450. No labour charges. I am going to take it there again tomorrow for cleaning the chain and correcting a little tilt of the rear tyre hugger. I was assured that it is going to be free of cost. Will update after the visit.

To those who applied motomax Polish, how effective is it and how long will it last?

Is there a true anti scratch coating or Polish which can be used??

I got my NS on 13th june and since that day the bike is plagued with problems. The Bike has not even clocked 2000k and i have to continuously visit the service center. Below is the list of annoying problems that i have faced constantly.....

      1. Oil Pressure Low icon continuously blinking on the console
      2. All the switch gear getting stuck
      3. Screeching sound from rear disc
      4. Fuel supply pipe getting clogged
      5. Rear foot peg jammed at open position
      6. Engine stopping erratically anywhere

Last but not the least that i faced today...( i was planning to go to lonavala but thank god it didn't happen over there).... Complete Electrical Failure.

I tried to meet the Bajaj representatives but all my efforts were in vain.
Its been a very bad experience for me and i hope no other 200 owners have to go through this!!!!

And yes My Karizma has a K&N air filter tuned for max performance." Its all wrong trust me... i defeated 2 karizmas on bangalore-mysore highway (one karima was of my friend's) on my way to coorg and about top speed.... if you pull full throttle of ns it reaches 130kmph on 5th gear with 160kg approx weight ratio (two person and one luggage(on both the bikes)) you won't be able to see karizma behind! max top speed i reached was 138kmph but it will touch 145+ on single pillion ride for sure!
Well said brother,, Bout the top spead of NS ( ie. 145+) Thats 200% true coz i have tested it myself on Tumkur highway ( Single rider though) and not sure how many karismas were left behind..

hey, sorry to hear about your problems with the bike
just a few questions to clarify things a bit

            1. Oil Pressure Low icon continuously blinking on the console
            common problem, fixed in service

            2. All the switch gear getting stuck
by getting stuck, do you mean a bit stiff to operate? because that is how the indicator and head light switches are

            3. Screeching sound from rear disc
needs cleaning.. refer to earlier posts on this forum regarding the disc cleaning

            4. Fuel supply pipe getting clogged
how did you arrive at this conclusion? do you have flat spots while accelerating or have you seen the fuel pipe routing? try filling fuel from a trusted pump - this worked for me

            5. Rear foot peg jammed at open position

            6. Engine stopping erratically anywhere
engine stopping due to low idiling can be fixed manually for the time being.. again the service guys should fix it at service.. if it isnt low idiling, any idea why it is shutting down?

            7. Complete Electrical Failure.
that is a serious concern.. is it fixed now? any idea how this happened?

i assume you are from pune (given your talk about driving to lonavala). If yes, try taking the bike to sai service at paud phata or balgandharva.. the service manager assured me that the mechanics are trained for working on the NS

if you are from mumbai, try enquiring where the KTM service center is.. else request fellow xbhpians for help at the next g2g

finally, detail out your problems and send a mail to customer care..

hope all the niggles get fixed soon!

1.Oil pressure issue is there in many bikes....bajaj is doing something, and acc to SVC manager it would be replaced on all bikes free of cost.
              3. Wash the disks properly for any mud.
              4. Fuel pipe would have got bend or knots, get it rectified.
              5. get it replaced
              6. May be very lean AFR.

I noticed this the day I bought my DESTINY.
its very simple to solve. u can see that the toolkit is kindda FLAT, where the tools are placed next to each other.
Take ot the toolkit, and roll it, making the making the whole thing Fatter. If not, then you can insert some plastic or rough papers to make it fatter, so that the tools don't vibrate. then fix it up against the rear seat with the rubber bands. That will do.

No, now that's another problem. Doing the above will only take out the toolkit noise. But the pillion seat itself has some "free play" in the locked position. So it keeps vibrating. @RahulBarik suggested me to tighten some nut below the seat, but i couldn't find it. But soon will some come up with an idea to eliminate this as well. will share then.

what u are saying is a different thing.....what i meant was does the seat fits well if u roll the toolkit and make it fatter???

ya ya, sure. No issues fitting the rear seat. the toolkit will be fatter by an inch or so, and there is lot of space(in this context) under the seat.

Motomax Polish are normal polishes and do not provide durable/long term protection.

Also if you want to maintain a good finish you need to go for better brands which are pretty expensive initially but considering their durability they will be lighter on the pocket in the long run.

For a good durable finish you should ideally go for a wax product like Collinite 845, Meguairs NXT 2.0, Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell, Formulae 1 etc. These products have good dust repelling and water beading properties. Once applied these products can provide at least 45 days protection (though companies claim protection of anywhere between 6-12 months) and you can do away with simply wiping with a Micro-Fibre cloth.

There is no product or polish that will provides anti-scratch protection.

You cannot avoid scratches even with high-end waxes. But you can delay the process by taking care in all aspects i.e. during dusting, washing, drying, waxing and buffing.

For minor scratches you can use a rubbing compound like the Motomax 2k rubbing compound.

                            • Where can I find Motul Oil shop in J.C Road ?

Anyone here who has bought Motul 3100 Gold 20W50 from JC Road ?
Would be great help if you can specify which shop.
Tried searching many shops yesterday, but couldn't find 3100. Many people there stock 3000, 5100, 7100, 300.

Asked for PSD rear tyre in one of the shops. Original one costs 4600. He was offering 2000 for a new Eurogrip (Mine is almost 2500 Kms old, so he was not ready to replace).
If anyone here wants to replace / buy PSD - there are lot of shops in J.C Road.

Does Motul chain clean and lube cost almost > 900 ?

                              • "Hello Sir/Madam,
I booked my PULSAR 200 NS on 3rd September from Khivraj Motors, Bangalore. I have been following sites for this bike and one of the site is xBhp.com - India's Most Popular Motorcycling/Biker's Community | India's First Motorcycling Biking Lifestyle Magazine.
Many riders have a common complaint that in the range of 2,000 to 3,000 RPM when throttle is applied the bike goes flat. What I mean to say is that you get the feeling of bike running out of fuel.
I kindly request you to look into the very same issue as many people are facing troubles with their bikes and I don't want same to happen to me. If any solution is there for the above problem,
please share it so that I can tell everyone about it.

                                Thank You
                                Ankur Goel"

Guys i had sent this mail to Bajaj and now I get a reply from them which is :

                                Dear Sir

This is to inform you that there is no such problem and if anyone is facing that they should bring the bike to the service centre so that our technicians can check the same. The Pulsar 200NS has a 4-valve engine that makes it a high revving bike. This means that the max power development happens at a higher rpm and the real power surge in the bike is seen beyond 7000rpm.

                                With Warm Regards
