crap....just a business gimmick... forcing people to use their oil...
Actually No! Bajaj recomended Oil change is every 10K kms. Pour in the Dtsi oil at First SVC, change to Motul after another 1.5K Kms, and then the next oil change is at 10K KMS!

    • New biker ?

The turning radius is bit more I admit ,but I dont think its that bad buddy. You will have to test some of the bigger bikes to know the difference .Meanwhile you can learn to do a spot turn he he.

Am now 1.7k km.. What if I change oil to motul now?

            • I have a doubt regarding the gear shifting..... I used to shift gears till 4th gear whenever i tried to shift 5th gear or 6th gear during 4k rpm riding at a speed of 50km... the bike engine behaves very rough and sometimes rpm needle goes till 7k and drops down to 4k Whether any gear pattern is available to shift gears at appropriate speed or RPM.. I have seen some post back .. I am not able to find it

                  • After 15 km ride, in speeds below 55, I reached at coaching class. So after 3 hours when i getting ready to get back home, bike didn't start at all. I inserted my keys, turned it on, radiator fan continuously rotated, i tried to crank the engine, it didn't start. And coolant temperature light turned on. How can coolant get heated just by standing for 3 hours! Even I left fan rotating for 15 mins, with no help. It was late, i called my brother to come over there, then called showroom mechanic. The mechanic was just 4 km away but he was taking too much time to reach. During that time, my brother's friend asked to show him where is battery. He just playing with the terminals, fan was still rotating, then there was something towards left of battery, he just touched it, fan stopped, and when i cranked bike started. When he pressed it, it made a click sound, so i think it was some kind of fuse, will check it tomorrow morning again.

I had really gone frustrated. I really doubt what PDI was done on bike when it was delivered. Showroom guy said it will take 3 days for PDI. So i got my bike after 3 days, moreover I really doubt if they follow the checks written on the manual for first service!!

This time I'm going to shoot a mail to Bajaj Customer Care, about the kind of service I have got till now. This is a awesome bike, and for these small things people will consider this isnt good bike. I was so embrassed when bike didn't start and hearing to people's comments 'Pulsar will be pulsar'.

True. Change oil every 2.5k. My bike had become harsh and oil change removed all harshness. Mind you I had topped it up with Motul 3100. Continuing with same brand till 10K when I plan to switch to FS of Motul brand only.

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

There is only one LED in the bulb and it cost me only Rs.30 for both of them (Rs.15 each).

That I believe is due to gear skipping. Dont be too soft while changing the gears. What oil are you using? is it by any chance the DTSi and has been over 800kms?

Tell the SVC not to change the oil and they wont change.

Unless it is Motul 7100 or 300v change it. For DTSi, it would be better to change after 500~800kms depending on riding style as it gets bad fast. Motul 7100 you can use till 6k and 300v till 8k kms with the same performance. Just remember to change the oil filter periodically.

That is bad. Yes it is a fuse. had fiddled with it on the first day itself when the showroom fellow came and told me that if I fiddle with the fuses I might have issues in starting the bike and he would be unable to help :P

Seems oil is soaking around the golden case cover. Anyone has this issue? I saw it today. Well it might be water, as I was riding it in the night in rains but water doesn't leave oil stains :P

I am too embarrassed to tell every one I got a mileage of 61 today. Been riding at speed of 65 most of the time, with engine switched off at signals and very rare use of brakes(just because of the heavy rain, could not get enough confidence like on a sunny day).

Are you suggesting this for the DTSI oil, or for any oil, (even if it is a goo brand)??
I agree with the Above when the engine is new, but is it applicable also if the engine had done > 5000Kms on the ODO????
