I also have a red NS and have installed white LED for the pilots -Originally posted by Red_Redemption View PostContinuing with csajal's ownership experience
Odo reading - 3700km
Positives
+ Braking: Very good stopping power in dry, wet or gravel (I am still using stock eurogrips)
+ Speed: Relentless acceleration till around 120kmph (I think 120 is good enough for me :P)
+ FE: 40 to 43kmpl which is more than expected given my riding style
Negatives
- Handling: Not a big fan of cornering abilities.. In my opinion requires more body weight transfer as compared to some of the earlier bikes i have ridden..
- Flat spots: Very noticeable during 5th and 6th gear roll on acceleration. Noticed between 6000 and 7000 rpm or around 85 to 100kmph.
- Horn: Sucks. As with csajal, I have changed my riding habits to use less of the horn (and indicators - use hand signals more these days)
- Vibrations: Buzzing in the front assembly, panels below the tank and handle bar.
Possible fixes, as suggested by fellow xbhpians:- Set of allen keys to tighten the bolts
- Double sided tape for the front console
- Wheel alignment for handle bar vibrations
After following the AFR posts on this thread for quite some time, I decided to go for it. Gave the screw a little less than quarter a turn ANTI-CLOCK wise. For illustration purposes - the rotation equivalent of turning the clock hand from 2 to 11.5
Short term feedback on AFR adjustment:
+ No snatchy feeling while accelerating. Smooth acceleration from low rpms
+ In the past 2 days of riding, did not notice the flat spots. This has been mostly city driving. Will take it out on the highway this weekend and update.
? Effect on FE: No idea as of now. Will have some insight in 2 weeks time.
Planned upgrades
? White LED pilot lamps
? Rim stickers: Have a red bike - not sure if i should go with white stripes or red - Please suggest
For the rim stripe I would personall like the Red "Pulsar" marked stripe

Yes i have this issue on my bike as well. Started after the first service was done and noticed only after a week. The oil is dripping (drop by drop) when the engine is hot till it get cold. Waiting for the next service till then will keep topping it.Originally posted by utsavchs View PostSeems oil is soaking around the golden case cover. Anyone has this issue? I saw it today. Well it might be water, as I was riding it in the night in rains but water doesn't leave oil stains :P

What if sprocketing is done to increase initial pickup? Of course this will hit the topend.Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostTell your friend, not only 200NS, CBR 250 , Duke also don't stand a chance against the 220, RTR. Good he didn't compare it to P150 and FZ!
Also what impact does sprocketing have on the engine and chain.

Do take care while working with rubbing compounds since these are abrasive in nature and hence can damage the clearcoat if overdone. You can even try using Meguairs Swirlx for removing fine scratches and swirl marks.Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostWell, I went to SVC to get center stand installed (@Rs.600/-) and I asked the mechanic about the gear shifting and whether he did anything for that. He said he didn't do anything for gear shifting. He has no idea how gear shifts become smooth. So I guess the solution is still eluding us.
BTW, got Collinite 845 day before yesterday and I applied a coat of it on Red Painted panels of my NS. Though Collinite does not hide that well, the micro-scratches and swirl marks, but it does give a noticeable impressive look to the paint. I liked it. Now what I am gonna do is, take some rubbing paste (3M or motomax may be) and remove the micro-scratches and then reapply Collinite on top of it. It gives a smooth finishing feel and a nice wet look.

There are many options available. I have been using the Motomax tire shine for a while, but am not at all satisfied only because it attracts a lot of dust.Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostCan anyone please guide me on Tyre polish. Which brand is good in terms of price & quality?
You can try your hands on Meguairs Hot shine high gloss tire Spray (costs Rs.972) and for cleaning rims Meguairs Hot Rims all wheel cleaner (costs Rs.485).
For more details you can check-out the following link: http://www.meguiars.co.in/
PS - i am no dealer / distributor for Meguair's product and am just recommending products based on reviews and availability.

Yes I know..I would be using it only once...never ever after that..Originally posted by sunilyo View PostDo take care while working with rubbing compounds since these are abrasive in nature and hence can damage the clearcoat if overdone. Meguairs products are super costly (especially for one time use)..My brother has Motomax wax with rubbing compound in it..I might try that one..Will only try on a small area first...
BTW dude, please avoid multiple back-to-back posts..you can simply use multi-quote to keep it neat and tidy...
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

The SVC folks are wrong. I have both, the side stand as well as the main. Can't comment on the HID but fiddling with electronics does void the warrantyOriginally posted by adil200ns View Posthello guys, the svc folks told me it is not possible to fit the center stand along with side stand.they told me that the side stand has to be removed inorder to fix centre stand.is that true?
