I have the same problem. On a smooth road, there is no sound. However on a bumpy road, there is a rattling noise. The rattling sound comes from behind the rider. I have not been able to figure out where exactly. I have looked at the battery housing, led tail lights and under the seat. They are all ok. Anyone else experienced the rattling and were able to fix it?

Same here. Have checked practically everything but to no avail. Right now the only option is to replace the tail section or to open those lights.

Got a few questions here.

Q.1. My monoshock has not been checked since I bought the bike which is approx 3 days short of 3 years and around 1.5l kms. So, would a repair be possible or replacement is recommended? Additionally, if a repair is possible, if anyone could tell me how much charge it would be, it would be great. I am travelling a bit for sometime so have to take special attention to finance, hence.

Q.2. Anyone knows the configuration of the RS's sprocket? Would it be a direct fit?

Q.3. Any idea if the handle can be changed to something better in custom? Someone had dropped my bike which bent the silver bar.

Q.4. Would the RS's tail be a fit? I am terribly bored of the NS's tail. Looks so common with all the 150/180/200/220s around.

Thanks all

utsavchs generally rear shock becomes weak (loose their spring/damping effect) around 70k-80k km. These are approximate numbers as a lot depends how & where you travel. Congrats for the 1.5L mark, still on the stock bore?

There were some vibes in tail section of my bike at certain rpms,
One day stripped the bike and did a jugad,

Used spare tube and cut it into small pieces and used on each and every nut,
Pasted it on places where 2 plastic or metal pieces join.

And now bike is vibe free. 😊

Since new engine at 15k, there was an overhaul at around 1.35l kms.

When I compare my bike to the newer versions I feel the difference in power, newer versions feel powerful and quiet. While mine is all rattling but does pack enough punch and if ridden properly, like small drags, this may have an advantage of 0.1 or 0.2 secs or bit more. As checked on numerous rides, it does go past all (even with ones with K&N) when the engine is hot. Basically, it starts pulling from 7.7k upto 11k RPM like crazy. On the lower RPM, its way too gentle.
The head has been opened occasionally every 30-35k whenever the tappets are loose.

RS sprocketing is not known at the moment. But interestingly AS sprocket is 41 instead of 39 (Rear) on NS. This can actually reduce the top end and not good for a relaxed tourer like you

Q.3. Any idea if the handle can be changed to something better in custom? Someone had dropped my bike which bent the silver bar.

It's only the tail lamp the same like all Pulsars. But the tail section is quiet unique and looks nice compared to AS or RS. While RS owners themselves are hating the tail section, I wonder why you are so much interested in that?.

Thanks all
With over 150,000 KMs, you still continue to run with this machine?. That's great. Does the odo reading show beyond 99999? or gets reset?.

• Assistance needed with reqar and front shocks of Pulsar 200 NS

Hi Guys,

I would like to find out from you if it is possible to modify or swap the NS rear monoshock with that of another bike to make the rear more bearable. Attached below is the rear suspension set up on bike. This pic is not of my bike but has been taken off the net to represent the setting. (Pic courtesy : choosemybike.in)

Could someone please tell me if this is the softest setting for a Jan 2015 make NS ? because if it is I seriously need to think about it. If not what are the workarounds to get a softer ride. I am planning to go to KB to have my pillion seat modded however want to work on the suspension too.

I have read that NS has a non adjustable front fork so i am guessing nothing can be done about it. or can there be a solution ?

P.S. I am not a corner craver so some loss of cornering ability due to suspension variations will not really matter

Appreciate your help guys

yes it is, when you have some after market items installed, like projectors, horns, etc that will eat up your battery. It also helps you to know the battery health so that you might not likely discharge it with more self starts at morning.

Simply it will help you know your battery health, nothing else.
