Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks broOriginally posted by danny king View PostThis is quite common among all NS models. I have seen several members here including me having the needle vibes. Mine is Oct 2012 model. I chose not to do anything. Some of the members have had the meter cluster changed.
I think I have seen a post somewhere here that shows a fix. Tried to find the post but couldn't find it.

A big change is that the RPM needle vibrations are totally gone and the needle sweep is also good, like those in cars or jap bikes.Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostI remember him shrey1992 replaced the console with new one which solved his needle shake problem.Vrooming Soul..!!

Thanks bud for letting me know about this.Originally posted by shrey1992 View PostYup, my 2014 model console went kaput under warranty so replaced it and got a 2012 model console. Hmmmmm.. however I am guessing that the svc center guys will not replace the console under warranty for me since the console is still working perfectly barring the errant vibration of the needle. Any idea how much would that cost if I decide to go on with it since its not a big deal and not something which I could not live with.
There is another issue which I am facing and that is with the chain set. Last evening I took my bike for its bi weekly chain tightening. My mechanic showed me that even after adjusting the chain to its desired slackness, there are some areas in the chain which are tighter than it should be, in other words, the slack is not even al through out. He said that the chain set is defective and needs replacement. My odo stands at 11350 to the dot. Is it something I could get replaced under warranty ? IF yes, what should I tell them. If no, whats the cost of the chain set.
This is something I have to do on priority since the ride quality is being adversely affected quite obviously.
Thanks in advance guys

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
11K Km is too less for demanding a new chain. Improper clutch engaging, shifting, revving harder can result in chain wear in such a short time, but I guess you do it well here. Could be that you tour over a long distance?, don't know. But you can get the complete chain kit for <1300/- I believe. My svc said 1550/- for replacement cost and spare cost, but that's not for me and said about 25K Kms on average usage.Originally posted by GauravD View PostThanks bud for letting me know about this.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks bud. Will speak to them this coming weekend and try to have it changed within the warranty itself. If they dont agree I would rather spend 1500 bucks to mitigate the issue rather than fight with them and wait to win and screw up my devils performance all the more.Originally posted by jbm_guy View Post11K Km is too less for demanding a new chain. Improper shifting, revving hard is not my cup of tea. I do prefer to speed but do not like the red light drag races. I NEVER have changed the gear on either a half clutch or without engaging the clutch. Although I did take care to lube the chain every day end during my tour it could well be the reason due to the continuous running and anyway, its a known fact that open chains accumulate a lot more dust and grime as compared to covered chains.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
When a chain wears, the gap between the pin and rollers increase. This increase should be uniform through out all links in the chain. Due to this minute delta, multiplied over number of links yield in substantial elongation which we adjust by pulling the rear sprocket away from the front there by compensating. Since GauravD said there is uneven slackness, I suspect that the chain could have got damaged - whether the damage is due to manufacturing defect or dust or maintenance issue; the chain got to be replaced. Jack rabbit starts, rapid acceleration, poor shift all going to accelerate the wear but will not have an uneven effect like he said.Originally posted by GauravD View PostThanks bud. Why do you get the chain tightened biweekly?
Since chain set is not covered in warranty, SVC won't replace it for free. You would have to shell out ~₹1500 for the chain set replacement.
For further maintenance of the chain set, clean and lube it at 500 - 700 kms with a good lube like Motul Chain Lube Road. For cleaning you can use WD40 or diesel.
Don't give abrupt throttle and don't do sudden downshifts. Chain set should last more than 18000 kms on good usage.Vrooming Soul..!!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Can anyone please suggest rear tyre for 200 ns as I am new here,I have short listed revz-s and zapper-s but unfortunately zapper-s are not available here in Ahmedabad. I know this has been discussed several times here but I can't reach to any conclusion. Please suggest.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
If you are already from MRF, Revs are better than zapper. If you have money, why not go for Michelin pilot streets radial.Originally posted by Ujjwal96 View PostCan anyone please suggest rear tyre for 200 ns as I am new here,I have short listed revz-s and zapper-s but unfortunately zapper-s are not available here in Ahmedabad.
