Irregular fuel supply and engine misfire. Dont know whether its too big of a problem

And even not heard anything such on the 200rs forum.

Actually I'm a tourer, so a Fi system is a big disadvantage for me, because imagine breaking down in some remote part of Himachal in the middle of the night, and the roadside mechanic says the doesnt know how to fix Fuel injected bikes. [panic]

Well in that case it is true,it might be a difficult situation to face.Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostActually I'm a tourer, so a Fi system is a big disadvantage for me, because imagine breaking down in some remote part of Himachal in the middle of the night, and the roadside mechanic says the doesnt know how to fix Fuel injected bikes. But as you know both fi and carb have their pro's and con's.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi guys! I'm back after a long break. 200NS going strong n smooth after a year. Only mods done so far are a 100W headlight bulb upgrade and rear sprocket changed to 220's. Oil is Bajaj, no problems since I rarely rev above 8K rpms. Feels rough above that. Need to change to synthetic...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
If it is whitish/light-bluish, you are burning oil. If the smoke lasts only a few seconds, suspect worn out valve guides. If it lasts for a couple of minutes, do a compression check. Rings will have to be inspected if a compression check gives bad results. Above 50K kms?Originally posted by kr7777 View PostMy exhaust is smokey in the morning is it OKLast edited by krixna; 12-14-2015, 12:43 PM.

Take a clean cloth, wrap it around the finger and wipe the exhaust to remove the dirt and grime. Run the machine for few minutes and this time use your finger to touch the inner side of the exhaust outlet. if the black soot is dry without oil then you are pretty safe. This could be due to rich mixture (check the choke position) or adulterated fuel.Originally posted by kr7777 View PostMy exhaust is smokey in the morning is it OK
If it is oily, then sad you have to confirm by seeing the oil level daily. The more you rev the more the oil consumption. This is due to engine oil entering the combustion chamber, which shows the aging of the engine. This can happen only by two means:- oil entering through valve guide over the head
- oil entering through piston rings.
Neither is a good news as it is usual for one to compliment other. You can manage to drive with low revs, monitoring the oil level daily, topping up as and when necessary. You can try Bardhal oil treatment, but that will only hold you for short period.
It would be time to replace the piston cylinder block when the topping up is frequent. Boring is not a desired process now.
I am curious to know what is the odo reading and what is your driving style? Replacing oil at earlier than recommended level and so is the oil and air filter will help to push the limit to the max. In my old Unicorn I stretched the situation to 80K km and after replacing the bore, piston and rings it has crossed 40k km with out any issue. My old CD100SS touched 100K KM and 20K after replacing the bore.
All the best.

Some FI benefits for tourer,Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostHavent seen any pro of Fi for a tourer
1. High altitude breathing issues, automatic tuning of AFR accordingly by sensing the air and temp by FI, with carb, it goes all manual and time consuming and sometimes headache
2. Bad or rapid change in weather, FI handles automatically
But again, as you said any issue, you'd be stranded on the desert, with no help

Good to see you back bro.Originally posted by krixna View PostHi guys! I'm back after a long break.
After the Chennai flood disaster, took more than 14 days post parking to take my dear out on roads. My dear didn't hesitate once and fired in single crank. Sometimes I wonder if Bajaj forgetfully fixed an FI system in my bike
Regarding flood, on the day she didn't mind going into hip deep water and the only other guy next to me riding the same wave with pride was a Duker, rest all of them had to roll their bike, because of the water density, the water entered through their exhaust no matter how harder they revved their bike.
First time "I thank Bajaj from the bottom of my heart"
for bringing or copying this underbelly exhaust, whatever
I could see many Dukers going ahead on the hip deep water without hesitation, whereas other Fz, old P220 had to stop all the way. I was worried about water entering inside when parked, but even that too didn't create any trouble. Now i've started to love her even more

If u have right tuning of your carb then it will almost behave like fuel injection after warm up.[emoji4]Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostSome FI benefits for tourer,
