Another peculiar thing i found in bike, foot pegs doesn't vibrate due to engine....I was at 40 kmph, got my bike to neutral, and turned off the engine. Coasted in neutral, and could feel how my foot pegs vibrates. My right foot peg vibration is more noticeable but vibration's frequency is less, but amplitude is high.. Guys, check this out in your bike also..and share with us!!
Moreover vibration increases at low speed around 15-20

hope you didn't get much hurt... There are lots of idiots on the road... Few days back, i was riding at around 80kmph and suddenly a guy got down from a bus, that too on the right hand side side of the road and starting running to the other side... I went at him straight and hit him at 80 kmph, had a slight wobble, and then ran in fear coz whoever guilty may be, its always the biker who will get screwed by public... I just saw him flying after i hit him...dont know where he landed finally...dont even know if he is alive or not..., i had a small scratch on my headlight....Originally posted by anshuhelps View PostHey Guys, Unfortunately met with an accident on my Lovely NS due to an Idiot turning in front of me without Indication and got my LOVE(NS) hurted vigorously
Yes it lost its Gear Clip, Alloy Rim's alignment, Disc Tilted and Callipers too gone..Some more metallic parts broken including Footpeg and ya Right Handle Bar also got out of order acc. to Mechanic! Just wanna ask you guys, should I also insist the Service Guy to check the Rear Wheel's Alignment and Disc or are they untouchable in a typical Accident? Do all this hurt ENGINE'S PERFORMANCE Internally! I m now hell a lot Confused regarding its NEWNESS
! Its waiting there at Bajaj Centre for Parts to Come..

Yes, after owning the NS for About 3 months, and having done multiple visits to the SVC, i too think alike...Originally posted by s.roy0717 View PostI don't think Vibes can be eliminated completely fron NS too. It's just something to bear with it.
Just that it's hard to believe the above, wher we a have many reviews, (both long term and short term)

Harder to believe for me that since I have more or less zero vibes. The engine's running rich and I use FS oil. Anyway I enquired at the svc about the rubber grommets and had a negative response.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostYes, after owning the NS for About 3 months, and having done multiple visits to the SVC, i too think alike...

Well, some of us fail to notice it at times, but it's just inevitable I guess. Owning the LS & have ridden the NS quite a few times, I can say it's better to the LS in many ways, but the Vibes, they still r persistent in em both, lesser in NS though. But Of all the Research I've done about it :P, I haven't found any significant reason to worry about the vibes. It's just that the engine, being so compact, producing so much power acc/to it's capacity, it's obvio that vibes will be there. It's a MonsterOriginally posted by Shibadip View PostYes, after owning the NS for About 3 months, and having done multiple visits to the SVC, i too think alike...

Even if u ride on a Horse, u'll feel the vibes, vibes cuz of the immense breathing, it's movement, etc..
Wonder Y the power units are named after horse??? :P

absolutely correct.. My bike is very smooth even with a lean afr.... But when i tune it to quite rich, it becomes boringly smooth..... Me too running full synthetic now... Btw the exhaust note simply changes to a bassy humm when the afr is rich...Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostHarder to believe for me that since I have more or less zero vibes. First service
HI guys
long time since i posted here
got my bike serviced yesterday at varun motors hyderabad, odo - 553 kms date of purchase - 24/10/2012
pre-service issues.
1) bike knocks in the rpm range 3-3.5
2) engine has become rough and during the start the bike runs as its out of fuel.
3) breaks were making hissing sound.
4) one odd thing which i observed recently in my bike : bend handle to the extreme left and pull the bike backward some weird sound comes from the bike
(may be brakes.)
5) didn't know about the exact mileage as i filled the tank at purchase and never filled pertrol after the that. bike odo -519.5kms +/- 10kms
went to the service center and registered all my issues when i mentioned about the point 1 he noted it down in the job card as engine beating. guys enlighten me about this engine beating? asked him to install the center stand and buzzers for the indicators and to topup the coolant. forgot to mention about the tank rubber gasquets
. i enquired wether i can see my bike being serviced he said you can. but since lot of bikes have come before mine he isn't sure when mine will be serviced. he asked me to come by 4'0 clock in the evening. went i went there the mechanic was fixing the tank. i went and stood beside the bike. when he was tightening the tank fairing i remembered about the rubber gasquets and enquired him about it. he didn't know about them, luckily i had my galaxy note in hand and opened the post in xbhp and showed him the pic posted by fellow NSian. he showed in to the inventory manager and asked to stock them asap. he completed the remaing stuff chain lubrication, gel on battery lubricating the moving parts etc.
after service :
1) went on testride with the mechanic on behind. the bike was knocking less but not free from it at 3-3.5 rpm he said any four stroke bike will knock at low speed at higher gear, but i was adhering to the company specified speed limits. he asked to shift gears at around 4 rpm , bike is smooth at this range. he said that this bike not meant to ride at 2-4 rpm if you come to that range down shift gear.
2)center stand installed - Rs 520 , and buzzer -45 total 1090 for the service
3)issues 3 and 4 still were missing when i did test ride but the hissing sound was back today have to go to asc tommorrow
4) coming to the most interesting part filled the tank again this time with shell premium - 11.70 ltrs so mileage 519.5/11.7 = 44.5 kmpl
mostly city riding. the mechanic was mentioning that i shouldn't use premium or unleaded petrol but only ordinary petrol for shell or any dealer as the premium ones are especially meant for cars.

ride safe amigos

heat up the bike while riding 3-4kms, then i make the bike to idle at 4k rpm and then fiddle with the fuel screw.... Since i dont have that pulse meter, i tune the bike by listening to the engine and exhaust beats....its a trial and error.... I dont find the perfect tuning but i do get a good tuning which makes the bike smooth, gives decent power everywhere and returns good FE... After tuning i check it by ripping the bike and there is a sudden spike of power at 7k rpm....i start from lean and make it richer by close to half turn after every run until i get that spike and find it noticeable.... I figured out that its the sweet spot for the engine.... Gives mileage, power and smoothness.... Try itOriginally posted by s.roy0717 View PostWhen U tune the AFR, how do u calculate for the right proportions here??? Share ur conscience with us pls

Sunday tips by me...
1)If you do not want to fit a center stand for your bike (be whatever reason),you could either buy a Paddock/Race stand OR get one made at your local garage as per the dimensions of your bike.
2)If you are too lazy to do any of the above, and if you own a Car, you can even use your Car's jack to get your rear wheel off the ground(this is what I do).
But beware,I use the Car jack only while I lube my chain, while the bike is turned off.
3)You might be wondering where on the swing-arm should you mount your Car jack...,well if you have a Scissor jack/Bottle jack/Floor jack, you could mount it on the exhaust clamp(just below the rear mono-shock),if you have two of those, you could mount it on either side of the swing-arm(where the chain adjusters are).
4)That exhaust clamp wont break or bend, don't worry!

5)For lubing your chain, don't forget to spray the lubricant on either side of the chain links. You will surprised to know that, the service center guys working on your bike will lube your chain only on one side,i.e the easily accessible side. You will have to do the harder work yourself.
PS: I personally use Motul products in both my Bikes and my Cars.,be it Chain Lube and Cleaner,Radiator Coolant,Fork Oil,Engine Oil,Brake Fluid,Greases, etc.
Hope these tips come in handy to you folks.
Cheers!Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take...,

Because all I want center stand is for chain lubing and cleaning.... if fitted a CS, am worrying of scraping in corners....sigpicUSED IN PAST: Ct100, Victor, Xcd 135For a true motorcyclist, the straight portions of the roads exist just to take him from one turn to the next!

About lubing the chain, what you say is correct, but it is imp to note that the lubing must be done at the inside part of the chain for sure, and the centrifugal force while at motion will take the oil to the outside parts of the chain.
If only done at outside, which most SVC guys do, much of that results in wastagesigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
