900/- is way too much if oil was poured by the SVC.... Please check the bill and also amount of oil poured in

    • That's the precise answer I was looking for. Thanks a lot Shibadip!

Well, in that case, ask them the reason for the same. that's almost the Double of the current approx pice of the oil. even if they tell that they have put some additives, then also it will be something of 50-70/- bucks extra only..(although they shouldn't put that as well without the consent of the owner)

I see that u have owned a 220F in the past. Were u not aware of the oil rates??

          • Hi guys. 350+ on odo. I have been controlling myself not to go beyond 60 kmph (waiting for the first servicing, though once I could not stop myself from reaching 70). Performance has been noticeably increasing as kms go by. Only one query. Does the 200NS need more twist of accelerator than other bikes at lower speeds? Every time the bike is between 0-20 kmph, to get enough pickup I need to twist the accelerator more than I would like to. This is a bit annoying given large number of speed breakers in Bangalore . Would appreciate responses/comments regarding this. At higher speeds, this machine goes like a rocket with little effort.

Also, what is the suggested upper speed limit after first servicing (planning to get it done at around 500-550kms on odo).

for better top speed you have to make it leaner... Rich mix will give better low and midrange, better cold starts, very smooth engine and power delivery, less heat but will reduce top speed... Lean mix will reduce low and midrange pull, will make the engine wheezy, will vibrate, snatchy fuelling at low revs, engine heating up, rough engine, cold start issue, but will give a higher top speed.... Anticlockwise is rich, clockwise is lean...

just a suggestion brother.... Dont maintain 60kmph so strictly... Go up the rev range and ride faster...but DONT REDLINE. Else you will have a vibrations on the bike later on.... And do as much highway runs at 70-80kmph as possible.... Its for the sake of your bike.... Nothing will happen. Dont pamper the bike...

While at it I realised what I had been missing out on! After that I heard the sound. It's pretty confusing. How does an engine running on a rich mix manage to stay fairly cooler compared to the same engine running on a lean mix? I mean more fuel means more combustion so more heat..so it should be opposite, theoretically right?
oh then its because of ripping it. Its all right @s.roy: there is no ECU. Its the CDI only...bajaj wants to fool us by calling it ECU... (seems like you already got fooled just pulling your leg...dont take it seriously) @mayank: yes that really is unbeliveable but it happens sometimes.... It was just once... My bike loves rich tune.... and we do love our bikes more than anything else @myth and shibadip: why go to bandel when its available at vedant bajaj at howrah... I got mine from there

                      Lol, never mate.. :P
Besides, I don't really have a valid proof rite now to make u believe that they aren't trying to fool us, cuz technically we can sue them for the wrong info & decoding :P, But I'll try to get something to put a specified reason to believe about it.
Btw, it seems like U've actually initiated an evolution to self tuning here... Nice..

an evolution to self-tuning...? Lol... No no i am not at all encouraging others to tune it themselves.... coz if something goes wrong by chance i'll be blamed...

For oil filter, i guess it's available at Howrah.. But wat abt the centre stand?? I need it Badly!! @s.roy - the 1st lot bikes that we got in Kolkata, were such that most of us had to take on Self-tuning.... Guess bajaj had a shortage of technicians, and brought up this innovative method to make us self-taught technicians!!

No mate, it's not about blaming, it's about inspiring & sharing the courage ( knowledge too :P ) to step up..
Oh btw, I guess u may be rite on that ecu thingy, probably it's only there as a single unit to control the timings or it's a timing control unit only (CDi commonly known ). They pasted it cuz the build & make r derived from duke's, so mite have reqd a small/hoax kinda ECU to match the designs & get proper spark timings. I was fooled :X....
But I'll inquire more on it. Cuz there is a possibility that it has an electronically actuated unit, not anything similar to the Duke's, but for some small yet necessary functions & relayed it as an ECU... :/

India may be growing in the market of Cars & Bikes, but I feel it stills needs a huge no# of properly trained & educated technicians at the svc to fill up the gaps to give a satisfactory result. For that, they need to evolve ( in terms of pay-scale, hiring, techs & work environment, etc... ). But I guess customers will evolve faster than they ever can.. :P

Thanks. Any suggestions/comments regarding the low speed acceleration?
