Hmmmmm good for u bro.. Mine also says 2014 however the RC says Jan 2015 manufactured. Plus, the tyres have a time stamp of 2514 so that would be somewhere around June 2014. With each passing day I am getting convinced that the dealer has dealt out an old bike under the guise of a new bike which I will be fighting for. Funny that nothing came up during the PDI check.Originally posted by krixna View PostI'm not sure of that site, but for me it says model year 2014, RC says mfg month and year Nov 2014. I bought it in Dec 2014.
However, prior to that I have written into Bajaj asking for clarification on my VIN number wrt the month and year of manufacturing. Waiting for their response. Anyone has any idea as to what is the generic ETA for a reply.
Post that I would be taking this up with the dealer or consumer court as the situation demands.
Query - can the dealer have the bike registered at a later date that it actually is ? Any one ?
So thats two folks whose VIN corresponds with the RC. Somehow I am getting a feeling that the dealer is in deep shit.Originally posted by jbm_guy View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I think that may be possible..... My case is different. I waited for several models to skip (kept checking for tires)as all came with euro, but i strictly wanted mrf.... They called me on the arrival date....So i picked from the fresh lot.....Originally posted by GauravD View PostHmmmmm good for u bro.. Mine also says 2014 however the RC says Jan 2015 manufactured. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
1. If anyone has written into the Bajaj guys could they please provide me with an email address other than -
2. What is the generic time frame for a reply ?
3. Can the dealer legally have the bike registered at a later date than what is the actual manufacturing date ? IMO the VIN manufacturing date and the RC manufacturing date should coincide. Is it not so ?
Anyone with a legal background - Could they please advise as to what the recourse may be if my fears turn out to be true. I would be speaking to my lawyer just to give him a headsup for this matter. Attached below is the email I have written to Bajaj with the VIN number X'd out (for this post) for privacy concerns (Hope you all understand)
******
Hello,
Greetings !!!
I have always been very loyal towards the Pulsar lineage with all of motorcycle being Pulsars from all generations starting from the round light launch till the recently discontinued NS 200. Not looking to establish new loyalties, I purchased a Pulsar 200 NS from Sai Auto sales in the month of February 2015. However, what has happened post that has shaken my faith up in the company, mainly because of a potential dupe from the authorized service centers.
At the time of sale / registration it was informed to me that the bike was of 2015 production which is also endorsed in my Registration certificate. However, after recently reading on the internet about the way dealers are duping the customers by selling them old vehicles in the name of new vehicles I decided to check my VIN number also. I used a certain tool available online for decoding the VIN number also the website gave all correct information with regards to the manufacturing company and the location of the make and other parameters. However, the fact which caught my eye was that it mentioned that as per the VIN number the bike was manufactured in 2014 which is in contrast to my registration certificate.
Additionally, post this I also checked the tire stamp and it states 2514 which translates to the 25thth*******
Will be updating the reply I receive from Bajaj on this issue.

WTF ! I mean ... so you are in the same boat as I am. I guess checking of the VIN number should be included in the list of PDI checks IMO so that the dealers do not find it possible to cheat ATLEAST genuine enthusiasts like all ova us here on this site... Will be posting the VIN guide that I have requested Bajaj for, for future reference by new bike buyers.Originally posted by kany1991 View PostNope They don't inform me that this is '12 model

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Arey bhai ... that I know ... I am talking about the difference in the VIN mfg date and the mfg date on the RC. There has to be a legally allowed difference for that too I am guessingOriginally posted by kany1991 View PostAs per RTO rules max 1 month from purchasing date

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi NSians. I have a quick question. A month ago my left toe got fractured and also had a bad ligament tear below the fingers. Now, it will be difficult for me to shift gears for some time as my toe and fingers need more time to fix. My plaster is coming out today. Please can u suggest if we can fix double sided gear shifter on NS. Like the one on commuter bikes like Splendour or Discover? That way I can avoid giving pressure on my fingers n toe.Pace your Ride the way to you want to Pace your Life. Both can be dangerous if taken too fast - all the time...!
