Btw just outta curiosity.. What carb are we running on the NS ? Does the tappet have an impact on the performance in terms of pick up...
Bs38 I think.yes tappet makes a difference in it.needs to be adjusted every 5000 kms

The effin service guys are just not ready to open up the machine for tappet... Normal dialogue - jab tak taapet ki awaaz nahin aaye tab tak nahin zaroorat... I mean wtf.. Guess il have to ditch all gurgaon service centers for good

That is the case, usually. The gap increases (by wear) and the tappet starts making noise. But it is like double the gap of the standard, when it starts making noise. Better to have it checked and adjusted according to the periodic maintenance chart.

Is that possible that the spring loses its tension and unable to adjust the chain. I am asking it because my engine becomes super noisy after few km of riding .

Is it easy to do or is difficult job because my tanks also vibrates along with the foot pegs, rear seat and rear foot rest.

Exactly my engine also becomes noisy after its hot and there are different types of noises from the engine. Does it mean that it needs an oil change?

Nopes bro its not difficult.. just a little long since you need to be a bit delicate on the fairing.

To get the tank fairing off -

              1. Open the rear seat
              2. Two bolts fasten the front seat, get them off
              3. Unscrew the 2 bolts holding the tank fairing just above the air filter box
              4. Unscrew the 4 allen bolts (2 on either side) on the tank fairing sides
              5. On the top of the fairing, 2 allen bolts near the ignition need to be removed
              6. 1 bolt on either side of the fairing, 1 near the horn and 1 near the radiator.

Once all these are removed, gently lift the fairing off and you are good to go with your washer fitting process. Use double sided tape on the tank side for the allen bolts but do not remove the top paper else the fairing would end up sticking to the tape causing issues if you want to remove it in the future.

For reassemble reverse the process, in any order of course of putting back the nuts.

              Hope this helps.

I did exactly the same thing. But did not feel much of a difference.
And the sad part is, I found that the the bolts and washers for the tank and fairings are not stock. The service centre guys used different types of bolts during one of the repairs. Since, I wanted to replace them with the original spares, I ordered them at 99rpm.com. But got an email stating that sale for Bajaj parts have not begun and got full refund.

Either the auto-tensioner has reached the end, or your chain length has increased (by actual lengthening of chain, wear of guides or both) beyond the auto-tensioner's adjustable limit.

I think it depends on where you getting the vibrating sound from... Mine has drastically reduced.. Specially took a ride just to check the noise.

I agree that washers aint available easily but i made the washers sitting at home with and old tire tube i had lying around.

Vibration is from engine actually and depends on various factors. One thing I have found from my experience is that excess level of engine oil can cause vibes. Don't believe it? It's true! Also, clutch plates. Even originals are not properly balanced sometimes. Other than that, most of the vibes are related to wear and tear.

Hello guys! Recently I did valve clearance by myself after hearing some tappet noise. The noise was gone after doing the adjustment. After finishing the adjustment, I put the cylinder head cover back on and screw the 4 bolts back. I hand tightened the 4 bolts by hand followed by using a ratchet to further tighten it. However, all the 4 bolts would not tighten as per specs which is 14Nm. The maximum torque i could tightened is by turning the screw in by hand like a screwdriver. I took out the 4 screws and found some metal pieces stucked on the bolts. Suspect that the thread is gone. Is there any way to get the thread fix or tighten the cylinder head?
                        Thanks in advance!

I am guessing that the head can be rethreaded.

That's what I thought also. Guess I have to monitor the cylinder head if there if any leakage after riding. Thanks for your response!
