  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

    Hi Guys,

I turned my AFR screw in clock-wise direction (for leaner settings), I turned almost half of the prev setting :P
Now my bike got vibes under seat and on the handle bar between 4k to 5k rpm and engine is getting heat soon and the fan kicks in fast

I want to test this setting a while before going to turn it little anti clockwise

Before this setting my mileage is city was 33kmpl, i want to get 38kmpl just once so did it

Now my question is do i see any problem if i run with this setting for 100 KMS?

No problems for 100 kms but for long ride it hampers.

200cc bike for a beginner, i would not Suggest that. Ideally you should go for 150cc bike. May be you can have a look at honda hornet. Ns is heavy also tall bike. You should first learn to control bike alsp the pickup. Ns and duke have a high pick up considering you ate beginner. Still if you want to go ahead drive within your limits dont go to explore the power untill you accustomed with the power.

Well congrats on your first bike in advance.
NS200 will be launched soon as fuel injection.the previous version had carburetor.FI is always better than carb
Now coming to power ,initially you will need to go light on the accelerator since this is your first bike.well the good thing is that till 4000 rpm it doesn't have a crazy pickup like duke but rather a decent pickup for everyday use.later I am sure you will get used to it.my first bike was p180 and I was easy on throttle.later as I became more experienced i started taking it to higher speeds.
The main thing that matters is how good you are at breaking .always keep your foot above rear brake pedal and 2 fingers on the front brake.slowly you will master the art of braking

I know that pulsar 200ns is discontinued. But just hoping that bajaj relaunches it with Fi. So I wanted to ask that, will this bike be good for me, as I am a beginner. Never ridden geared bike. Will I be able to manage the weight of the bike?I am 5'8" weighing around 73-75kg and well built.
NOT GOOD. PLEASE STAY OFF FROM PERFORMANCE BIKES.....FOR YOUR FAMILY's SAKEI mean it. Sorry to discourage you, but here is what you need to know first 1. 153 KG kerb weight (Considering AS, as NS isn't available now) 2. 6 gears, you have to handle carefully, else the engine will start knocking and eventually turn off leave you in traffic 3. No kick start, improper usage without idea would dry your battery 4. ~24 horses, which are not just numbers 5. Rear wheel locking with rear disc, resulting in skid on wet/gravel 6. Rear wheel spin off on gravel or unexpected wheelie can cause accidents 7. Handling heavy bike at traffic and especially in wet, muddy or gravel roads 8. Involving Drag races considering the fact that you own a performance bike, it automatically comes to mind to take down even a dog My kind brotherly advice, 1. Get a proper license2. Buy an used Fz 2012 mode for 28-35K3. Practice proper clutch and gear rides4. Try to ride slower in gear 1/2 in traffic (that's the hardest challenge)5. Ride it for at least 6 months, by that time, Duke 200 will become Duke 250 and NS fill become NS FI.....6. Finally Stay away from Drag races on streets. If you wanna ride faster, ride solo but don't aim at someone and chase....You can always listen to your mind, but sometimes you have to listen to elderly advice as it comes from experience which the mind doesn't have. If you can bear 138 KG, 8 KG is nothing....!!! But the problem is gear system which is 1-N-2 which will get you in trouble initially for beginners. But by the time when new users get used to, they end up damaging the gearbox too. That's why I recommend buying an used one with lower cc which is easier to handle. 200NS is easier to handle for those who already have a motorbiking experience.

Yep, you are right. It's not linear. I got my CO measured for my Disco 125 in idle only and it was about 2.4/2.5 (^_^)But don't know what exactly is the procedure the measure the same...

A leaner mixture will always make the engine getting hot..... So it's common, plus the vibes will creep up to. But you should see a better mileage....

Remember to bring it back.... If you lose the spot, you will have to count your luck [emoji6]

                  When you took P180, were you too 18?. [emoji3] .... I'm surprised

200cc bike is an overkill for a beginner who only has couple of scooter skills.

Hehe no bro.I took 180 on 17th April 2014 and that was my 1st bike.surely it was pretty powerful when I took it considering it was my 1st bike but then I got used to it and always considered safety as my primary thing while driving..sold it using 16 months and completed 25k kms almost.it was a terrible bike though [emoji29]

                        Thanks for your replies guys.
I am no way going to speed it even when i learn riding properly.
I understand what you guys are saying. So 200ns is an overkill for a beginner?
I even heard that 150ns is coming? Is it true or just rumours?
I REALLY LOVE THE WAY THIS BEAUTY LOOKS. Was waiting to turn 18 from past 3 years, just for this beauty.

Yeah i will in just one more day, My daily commuting distance is 65kms, so today evening and tomorrow, thats it
I'm just curious to know whether this AFR really impacts mileage

It impacted my initial speed and torque for sure now my engine is not so peppy as it used to be before this setting.

I will come back with my findings again on mileage and i want to hit that sweet spot of mileage as well as performance

Once u rode NS u want to go faster and faster its nature of ns little twist on throttle and you'll hit triple digits.
NS changed my 6 year old driving style [emoji40] i never cross 90 on my p180 but on NS i touch 120 almost every day on same route [emoji16]
So its our advice buy a 2nd hand fz for 6 months and then buy a new NS fi and if you're lucky enough you may buy a CS200 [emoji6]

OK thanks. I will try for a second hand bike first. Any other suggestions than FZ? With similar gear pattern like that of the duke and NS?
