Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
The fan runs when vehicle speed is not enough to cool the radiator (example: in traffic) by natural flow of air through it. The fan switches on to help and keep the temperature below maximum. In the process, it removes heat from the radiator and blows the hot air on your feet, making you feel it is very hot.Originally posted by sivakumar.arul View PostYes bro. It's same you mentioned. Fan is running. I previously riding rtr160 and I didn't face problem like this. Also my riding style is very normal. No harsh riding.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks. Because of traffic in Bangalore, I'm unable to ride above 3RD gear. Is it good ride lower speed at higher gears?Originally posted by krixna View PostThe fan runs when vehicle speed is not enough to cool the radiator (example: in traffic) by natural flow of air through it. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Don't ride at low rpms because the NS engine is not designed for that. Try to keep it above 3000 rpm, whichever gear you are in. Since it's a liquid cooled engine, don't worry about overheating.Originally posted by sivakumar.arul View PostThanks. Because of traffic in Bangalore, I'm unable to ride above 3RD gear. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi guys,
The other day I got the chain sprocket and clutch plates changed. The chain sprocket was due to be changed due to uneven slack which I got to know is not covered under warranty. However, the clutch plates are something which are of concern to me. The detailed bill which was given to me states KTM pressure plates. If someone else has also gone through a clutch plate change could you please advise ? Is it possible that NS and KTM share the same pressure plates ?
Moving on, once the clutch plates were changed I had to make do with the DTSi oil since I did not have Motul with me and the service center does not stock it. Since then the bike is just too dull. I have to twist the throttle real frikin hard for it to take off and it just will cross 7 - 7.5K on the RPM meter which means my speed gets limited to about 100 - 110 which is so damn irritating considering I could easily do 135 on Motul 7100. Is it possible that this is due to the DTSI oil which I am now running ? I am planning to anyhow get the carb cleaned and checked for the diaphragm issue which I do not trust the service centre jerks with.
(How hard would you laugh if I told that these A-holes were not able to remove the chain from the bike, I had to find and show them the master link for getting the chain off the axle during the chain set change ... I swore at that moment I aint going back !!)
Please advise.

Bro this is the amount of CO (carbon monoxide) which is released from your bike post combustion and is a superb indicator of whether your bike is running rich or lean. Take your bike to the service centre and ask them for a CO tuning which they would charge about 40 - 50 bucks. The standard CO level for the NS is around 1.4 according to the service guys however something around 1.6 - 1.7 upto a max of 2.0 will give you a decent mileage and performance too.Originally posted by sivakumar.arul View PostWhat is Co level bro?

Check this link for the optionsOriginally posted by krixna View PostThen it is good to have one, I guess, if we can get an accuracy of 90% or so, would be sufficient to tune a bike.
Totally agree mate... this could be a real good addition even if it gives about 85 - 90 % accuracy. This could be carried along with us during high altitude riding when people look for addition of wires to the carb jets to lean it up.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Duke 200 and 200NS have the same engine below the cylinder head. D200 is single spark and DOHC while the NS is triple spark SOHC. That is the only major difference - the cylinder head.Originally posted by GauravD View PostHi guys,

Had my NS tuned during service with a CO analyzer, and now it shows 2.8 in the PUC test :banghead: (air filter is clean). Guess I'll have to tune it myself

Hmmmm then it makes sense for both of them to have the same pressure plates. Thanks bro..Originally posted by krixna View PostDuke 200 and 200NS have the same engine below the cylinder head. As far as your CO reading showing 2.8 its way richer than it should be. I have been told by a couple of service guys that the AFR knob on the carb is not stable and is easily turned, even by the pressure of water when washed, and should be atleast checked during every servicing. But anyhow 2.8 is too high.
I would say take it to an ASC and ask them to set it about 1.7 - 1.8 and you would be good to go.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Actually, I read somewhere that CO will be higher in idle, least at cruising rpm (most efficient rpm), and then again rises with increase in rpm. So what's the tuning rpm for 1.7-1.8 CO? I don't know, just asking.Originally posted by GauravD View PostHmmmm then it makes sense for both of them to have the same pressure plates. Thanks bro..

Tuning is always set at idle rpm bro .. And that too with a warm engines.Originally posted by krixna View PostActually, I read somewhere that CO will be higher in idle, least at cruising rpm (most efficient rpm), and then again rises with increase in rpm. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I dont know if it is the best one, but I was able to check the CO level and get it adjusted at Jai Autos service center in Adyar(KTM service does not have it). They were helpful and took their time in fixing it. They have a person (I think he is called Naresh) for higher capacity bikes and he is pretty good.Originally posted by ganesh25 View PostAnyone from chennai pls recommend me best service centre.... I need my adjust my carb correct so I need a co machine in that service centre... Then I need to adjust my tappet they become little noisy after the engine get heats... So chennians plz do say me a service centres which fits my needs... PS:I have AS200... I believe AS and NS have the same heart oy cosmetic changes Sent from my 2014818 using xBhp Connect mobile app
