    1. Clean the bike with a wet cloth first or just use something to shower your bike with water.
    2. Clean the bike with a clean dry cloth & make sure that you remove any water stain.
    3. Use a polish ( I personally use Waxpol : 100 bucks , 100 gms ).
    4. After 10-15 mins remove the haze while turning the cloth occasionally.
    5. Use parachute hair oil !! Seriously , use it on black coloured components all over the bike..put lots of drops of the coconut oil on a cloth and clean the perimeter frame , the primary tyre hugger ( the one which protects the monoshock ) , the front fender , exhaust assembly , RVMs , etc...

The Tank & rear portion is painted AFAIK...the tank extensions , headlight assembly , front fender is sticker job...visit a car or bike accessory shop, they must be having the microfibre cloth...
the tank extension is sticker...hmm will check it out today..i think it is the same fibre painted part..

nice easy steps..i'll follow them with a few modifications...wiping with cloths are known to cause swirl marks in long run so ill just pour water over the bike

and will use some mild detergent or soap to clean the bike once in a while...

btw which polish? waxpol has tons of products named polish...what my concern is on googling the difference between polish and wax given is polish emoves a micro layer of clear coat giving a good new like shine while wax puts an additional protective coat...

also most of us and even copanies use these terms interchangably so wanted to know do these kind of polishes remove the micro layer of clear coat or add a protective layer?

what about silicone polish? many companies have that?

wow..coconut oil...cool...does it look good? doesnt it attract dust as oil is sticky...

    tarpin or turpentine oil?

so u open up a bottle of liquid shoe polish and mix it in oil and apply it...same question...does it look good? and attract dust or no?

Guys i was getting some hiss hiss sound from chain.. i bought wd40 and chain lubricant. Cleaned and lubricate twice in a gap of 15 days. Still getting that sound. What could be the reason behind that sound.

AFAIK, WD-40 isn't good for the rubber o-rings on the chain. Place the bike on center stand, dip an old toothbrush in diesel and gently rub the dirty chain. After the chain's been soaked, get rid of the diesel with a cloth and generously spray OKS or motul chain lube. Run the bike on center stand for a few minutes to make sure the lube penetrates the inner nooks of the chain. If required, adjust the chain slackness. You do this, and you shouldn't find any hissing sound for a few weeks atleast. Do this once every 500 km and more frequently during rains.

Very sorry for you sir! Damn, feels so heartbreaking to see the NS like that, that too my favorite colour. Hope you took the driver to task.

thats quite a bad crash bro... and 7k for repair is quite high...why so costly? @mayank.trivadi: i dont know what it is exactly called.... Generally we call it tarpine.... Its used to mix oil paints which is applied grills.. It will not give much shine but it will make it look darker...deep black... You have to be very careful while applying it and have to be fast... after applying, let it dry and it will appear darker... But next time i'll try to do nishant's technique and see what difference i get...

yes then it is turpentine oil....but usually it is used as a paint remover and not mixed with it...may be i'm wrong...
alright try nishant's way and tell me what difference do u observe and which u liked..i guess i'll wait for the result and go for the best method :P

ouch! that really must be a terrible day for you....

did u take that driver to task??

                        7K is to high

the rear mudguard and the number plater holder togther should cost you more than 1K bucks i guess...worst case 1.5k

u still can use those turn indicators as they dont look damaged

the crash guard not sure about it...how much..300-400?

the main cause of concern is the tail section and the rear brake lights..the tail section looks fine from the RHS of the bike but i guess its damaged from the LHS side

that might be the biggest thing to escalate the cost...

claim insurance....and do let us know your experience how it goes so if others face a similar situation they know what to do

BTW @all if such an accident happens when some other vehicle hits you what is the first thing to be done and what steps should be taken?
offcourse insuarance is to be claimed and u need to note down the reg no. of the vehicle which hit you but i dont know how to go about these things...do u demand money rom the other vehicle owner as insurance doesnt cover 100% right?

are we supposed to go to the police?

what to do incase someone hits you and does a bad damage but runs away?

lol I began riding just a month ago & improving by each day. My wish is to learn to do a wheelie on my NS. but too afraid!!

If you wash it everyday with a bucket of water then how do you prevent water from sprinkling over the chain ? or is it fine if that does happen when washing your bike. or lubricating chain every day also lol?

anyways, guys I just got this OKS chain spray & I gotta lubricate the chain as it's been like 500+km since it was done last time. I've got a side stand but I'll figure something out to get the rear wheel off the ground. Do I just spray the chain as well as I can.. or is it better to clean it first ? like with a toothbrush & kerosine. The guy at pro biking showroom said you can just lubricate the chain as the bike is quite new. but if you wish clean also then you can use a tootbrush & mix of kerosine + 1 other oil (couldn't catch name) . Few vids on YT demonstrate how to clean & lube the chain. just looking for suggestions. thanks

the lubricants on the chain do not get displaced by water i guess...

dont clean every 500 km...if u feel its dirty then clean..otherwise lubrication is enough....even simple kerosene is fine to clean the chain...

The same happened with me once, and the mechanic suggested the oil. Then later I changed to castrol active xtra, which was for the bikes.
