  • even after washing the front disk brake assembly, the didn't squeaking sound didn't go for long......

help me? i dont wanna go service centre, just because they gonna take lots of time...

another thing, squeaking is continous at low speed like around 8-10 kmph, and its pulsating around 20 kmph, disc looks perfectly fine..and sound loudness increases after brake gets more heated...

    washing is a temporary relief..

Didn't ride it for 15 days... @chintan: mine too started at a single crank without choke after 12 days...no spluttering at all...no drama... Only thing haunting me is tuning and hard gear-shifts...its like blowing kicks literally... Btw you were to go the svc today na? Any updates? @myth: yo! Wassup man... That fuel indicator is total funny... Even i was shocked first but a call to shibadip cleared my doubts... The low fuel light has simply nothing to do with fuel... It will glow once there are two bars no matter how much fuel is there.... and i have rectified my clock running slow issue...just disconnect the battery and reconnect it@rahuldevnath: bhai whats the alternator output of the bike? How much watts?@everyone: i have removed the hugger and there are a lot of scratches underneath from flying stones... The underside of the rear panel shud have been matt finish... And anyone planning to change the handlebar to a single piece pipe unit like the duke...?
Firstly, I can feel the sense of freedom you're feeling after recovering...haha!
Yep now I'm totally convinced that the Fuel Indicator is lunatic! As far as my clock is concerned, I din't do anything and its fine now.
Just a week of my ownership and around 75kms on my odo ...Exams coming up!
Even my first service will be due exactly during my exams.
So far no hard gears but when I downshift there is sometimes a sound as if I haven't shifted properly like without completely de-clutching. Iv tried hard to rectify my shift but it just doesn't happen. May be will be fine after the first service.
The under-tail and the engine portion become really muddy and cleaning the latter is a pain in the @$$.

Thanks for the tyre info. Guess Destiny's tyres will take some more time to break In..

I still think it's the dirt which is causing the sound. though not recommended you can try pressure wash. Or better as i do, Take a mug-full water, and splash it as hard as you can on the brake assembly, about 5-7 times.

I agree with the above, But you can have a look of the engine portion of Destiny.. She is super clean..
Also IMO, clearing the rims of rear tyres is also a herculean task (without the centre stand), and it attracts more dirt which gets sticky due to the chain lube I guess.

Even though its a pain...but mine too is spic-n-span! Centre Stand is seriously necessary, even to wash the tyres properly.

Please observe the following when the bike stops next time, and post here.

              1. The engine temperature
              2. Engine Oil level
              3. Petrol level in tank.
              4. Does the bike start again if you thumb the starter button, in ONE or TWO cranks.
              Good luck

You can do pressure wash of the pads....to do this, direct the water fromhose at the disc pad on both sides of disc for at least 10 minutes....this should help to clean away the grime you pickup on disc which get transferred to the pads.

When you apply slight amount of pressure on brake lever, do you feel variation of pressure ? if you do then there is a high probability of Disc warp....I had suggested this since you had complained of periodic pulsating noise from disc brakes.

                • "The Pulsar 200NS has been very well received by the market beating our expectations. The bike saw sales of 8,500 units so far and we are starting exports of it next month where we are also hiking production to 10,000 units a month. Exports of the Discover 125ST will also begin next month with 5,000 units", added Srinivas.
                  Good news for overseas!

Hello All.. Well this may be my first post! But I have ridden this beast for lovely 2500+ kms and have been the first few costumers to get hold of this bike in Chennai (August 1st week). There are couple of issues which I am also facing similar to above which I haven't yet taken it to SVC.

                    1) There are multiple instances when I used to take my bike after a long day at office. When I am trying to move on from 2-3 or 3-4th gears, it appears like the bike is gasping or being choked with a strange sound. As the above views said, lights will go off as the engine has stopped running and I'll be stuck in the middle of road. After warming up of the engine, it doesn't happen. Observations: Fuel know will be ON/ RES position the whole day. Is this due to fuel getting vaporized in the fuel pipe leaving air lock resulting in stalling?

                    2) Couple of instances after a very long ride, when I push the starter button in neutral gear the starter motor fails to start except for the 'tick' sound under seat. Even after multiple tries it repeats. But strangely, if you happen to hold the clutch and press the engine start button, it works as normal. I doubt, holding clutch lever will enable starter button only when gear in engaged. Right? What would be the issue? Is the battery drained?

                    • @Peejaey...
                      1. Your AFR..Air Fuel Ratio seems to be slightly lean ,which will make the engine seem less powerful ,and hesitate under acceleration in cold condition and once warmed will behave normal.
                      2. There is a switch in the clutch lever which had developed loose or bad contact, which is causing the problem..Take it to ASC and get it corrected.

Use the chain cleaner on ur rims, will help you a lot in cleaning off the sticky, greasy dirt.

It'll be nice of you to list down in brief what all was tweaked to achieve "butter smoothness." Thanks in advance pal

                            • Chassis vibration between 4500 to 5500 rpm !! Help and Advice !!

Hi people , I have done around 1500 kms on this machine . I rode very carefully during the run in period , never crossed 60 kmph till the 1000 km mark . The engine felt a little rough and i assumed since it is a new bike it will smoothen out in sometime . During the first service i switched to Motul 15w50 fully synthetic engine oil . Gear shifts are super smooth but I am getting very heavy vibration from the engine which is felt all the way back to the grab rails between the 4500 - 5500 rpm mark . Below 4500 I can barely make out that the engine is running and above 5500 rpm it simple screams .. Anybody else experincing a similar problem . Shud I be concerned about this or will it smoothen out in due time ??

Neither of the two pumps - HP or BP - are COCO. But I generally get mine refilled at the HP Petrol Pump. I find it to be better than any other petrol pump around.
